Excellent in-depth review. Did yours come with a rear rack? The P20 i see for sale now does not have a rear rack, i wonder what rear rack would be compatible with it.
Many thanks for your excellent and amazingly thorough review of this cool looking and quite remarkable little eBike 👍 I couldn't get over just how quiet and stable it was - even over some of those cobbled streets. And that torque sensor is amazingly efficient - couldn't believe that you managed to get over 40 miles out of such a small battery - especially up those massively long hills. I loved the idea of those indicators, but you made some good points as to how they could be improved. But at the pace that these types of bikes are evolving, it will probably only be a year or two until they all have really good indicators as standard. Thanks also for the trip down memory lane, with your quick tour of Leeds city centre. I studied, and then worked there throughout the 80's - but was stunned by how much of it has changed. Having said that it was nice to see some familiar landmarks including the town hall, old arcades and the LGI (where I used to regularly help out in the nearby St G's Crypt soup kitchen). You even passed within a street of where I used to live with a couple of medical students, right next to student nurses accommodation - wow, Leeds brings back so many amazing memories, but I can't post any of those here...😂 Anyway keep up the great work. And I was wondering whether you are likely to be reviewing the Engwe L20 Boost in the near future - as it sounds near perfect for my future needs (with 75Nm of torque to move my rather large frame up the nearby big hills). ATB
@@MuddyDuck... thank you for those kind words. Leeds in the 80’s was my old stomping ground. My Mohican cut at Kings barbers by the old Odeon to working in the door at The Warehouse at 17 years old. That battery weighs in at 5 pound and is such a small percentage of the bike weight (about 10%) that to me makes it powered by black manic or something. 😂 I’ve asked for the L20 boost but it’s sold out not just in the UK but in Europe too. So, I’ll just have to wait although I’m assured I’ll get one next month.
How do you find those mirrors? I've got an L20 and really need mirrors when on the road. I don't fancy pushing the shifter mount further across so that a mirror can fit onto the handlebar, because they will be further away from my thumb and fingers. One option is the flexi mirrors on long stem mounted to the central cross brace (bmx style handlebar), but they look horrid!
Superb indepth review as always. Looking to buy my first e-bike, but more of a long range model. Engwe's lineup looks nice, looking at the X26 (no torque sensor) or the P275 ST (pro model has autoshift which is perhaps not for me). Don't know if they're bringing out any new models soon?
@@misteragony I’d highly recommend the P275 ST if you live in a hilly part of Europe and the Pro anywhere that’s pretty flat. The Pro has better range than the ST, both are UK and EU legal and both are IP6 rated for riding in the rain. They’ve got a cargo bike coming out soon, the LE20 but no details as of yet. Torque sensor over cadence sensor every time.
Got an Adjascent question, I saw the "ENGWE Free-size Luminous Vest" on the EU site as part of their 10th Anniversary box, do you know where we can get this in the UK, or failing that can you recommend a bike vest for a "larger" gentleman? All the ones I see are for boney cyclists without any padding, or I can get something heavy duty for builders, but at least it fits me!!!
@@ModProjects4306@ ModProjects4306 No worries, I did lots of research yesterday and finally bought a P20. Feels like it will be an ideal commuter for Barcelona, both price- and quality-wise.

Excellent and thorough review. Can the saddle be changed?
@@alandean2 it can buddy. It’s a normal saddle stem, just change it out to whatever saddle you want.

one comment - it is not Gates carbon belt, it is carbon belt but noname
Yeah. My bad. The P275 Pro is Gates. None of this is scripted.
