Hey, how many links including the ones with marks are there between the dot on the crank gear and the dot on the injection pump gear? My chain doesnt have any markings or bright links as the manual states. Thanks
Hi Did you have to do this because of a snapped guide? Ive just put a used engine in mine and although it runs it making a racket. Sounds like the chain is hitting the cover.
@@jacobburton2487 it turned out it was the pulley on the front of the crank that was making the noise. It has a rubber dampener that had perished and was clacking back and forth making a noise like a chain or something fatal. I took it off and welded it up with a view of leaving it like that and not bothering buying another as they are 150quid.

How you can move the chain to get the right position without removing the engine head?

It is an 8 stage process: Stage 1= 80Nm (59Ib.ft)
2=Loosen by 80 degrees
3= 50 Nm (37 Ibf.ft)
4= Tighten 90 degrees
5 = tighten 90 degrees
6 = Run engine for 25 minutes
7 = Stop engine, allow to cool.
8 = Tighten 90 degrees.

It’s to loosen by 180 degrees not 80 degrees
