A full ride on the Detroit People Mover starting and ending at Renaissance Center. The People Mover recently changed directions, now running counter-clockwise for the first time since 2008.

It sounds very similar to Vancouver's Skytrain. The doir chime is different, but the station announcement chime is identical!
These use the same cars and copied the chimes from other systems - the door chime was created for the TTC's fleet.
Is that audible laughter I hear at the announcement of Joe Louis Arena Station (because the station is still named after an arena clearly being torn down).
They also still have not renamed the Ford Theatre Parking Garage, as far as I can tell.
Nope it's still the ford auditorium garage even after all these years. JLA station probably won't be renamed unless they redevelop the land. And if they don't redevelop they might as well close the station and make riders use Convention Center.
I never really noticed how dreary and drab the downtown area of Detroit was.
I read something online that Detroit people mover might be getting new cars in the next 5 years.
They sure could use 'em but given how much money the system takes to operate I doubt it'll happen. 5 years from now would be 38 years' service (excluding the system's 2-year COVID shutdown), which is near the usual 40-year service life of a metro car in the US with refurbishment... but these haven't been refurbished
@@tkefan29 in the article I read.their was interview with the head of Detroit people mover. He was very optimistic that the upgrade will happen. It will rely on government, state, and private funding.
I remember riding that to the 2011 auto show at cobo center from the rennasance center a long time ago, if I go back to downtown Detroit I might ride it again and do a video on it to.
Why does it have the TTC H4 door chime?
The ICTS railcars are also used on TTC's line 3, and the People Mover didn't change them when they got theirs.
Why does the door chime sound broken?
The system is old that’s why, they don’t have money to upgrade the system so they stick to running the old people mover cars same as sky trains
