I posted this video a few months ago but due to a copyright issue had to take it down. Just in case you are wondering. Everything has been resolved and hence I wanted to finally share it with you guys. Enjoy and a happy new year! 😊 love you guys!
Here I am thinking that I was a time traveler, because I remembered watching this vid when it was originally posted. Good that you tasted some of the veggies! There were some "unique" editing around that moment that I won't comment any further. Happy New Year Josh and everyone 🥳🎉😇

My father was a diplomat and we spent 2.5 years in Burma in the late 70s. It's such a beautiful place and the Burmese are the nicest people on the planet. The Shwedagon Pagoda is incredible. We used to holiday at Sandoway Beach (now Thandwe) and it's comfortably the best beach on the planet. Used to fly on their F28 from either Singapore or Bangkok. When flying from Singapore they used to announce that if there were strong headwinds we'd need to land in Vientiane to refuel! There were only ever 10 or 12 people on that flight but it was loaded to the brim with meat and alcohol for the ruling Communist class. On my first trip the hostie asked if I'd like coffee tea. I answered tea, please, and she filled my cup from the one jug she was carrying. Turned out it was coffee + tea + milk + an industrial quantity of sugar! Was good, though. Thanks for the video and for bringing back good memories.
I'm from Myanmar 🇲🇲... If you need a personal assistant for yr journey, I wanna have an opportunity to serve you, brother... It would be the exit of hell, brother... I won't make you upset, will do whatever you want... Please give me a hand
Thanks for sharing this Josh. I've travelled extensively in Myanmar and was last in Yangon for 4 nights in March this year (2023). Such lovely, friendly and nice people living under the current regime. Yangon was obviously more subdued than previous visits, but there was no heavy military presence in the city as outside observers might imagine. Daily life continues but there is a scarcity of foreign visitors, lack of foreign trade and shortgage of electricity at times (virtually all places have their own generators). Burmese food is delicious too. I really hope that the country resolves it's problems and the lovely Burmese people can improve their lives.

I have had the pleasure of travelling extensively throughout Myanmar. My absolute favorite country in Asia. The most friendly, polite and genuine people you will ever meet. Hope to get back soon.
Thank you for coming to our country! People here love to see foreigners since our country is so rarely noticed in media nowadays. I’m glad you had a fun time because Myanmar truly has a lot to offer. However, due to the current political situation it’s unlikely you or any tourists will be able to come again and even then, be able to fully enjoy a free, democratic Myanmar
Sure,I am from Myanmar, the current situation is the resistant group (ethnic arm group,PDF) are trying to occupied the almost evey region with 1027 opreation. Now only yangon mandalay and naypyidaw only the big citys have under the junta military. They can't control the evey region.
I always read the airline magazine. After the military coup, many countries have imposed sanctions on Myanmar. This means the airline companies have difficulty getting spare parts for their aircraft. Apart from this, Yangon is really worth a visit!
That's the real conditon of Myanmar, I always heared the bad side of myanmar, but when i visited,it's really amazes me,the people are so kind, polite and the food is so delicious, especially the monehinga is the giving the best taste and i enjoy it.if i have chance to visit to myanmar, that would be really wonderful.
Wow, just wow. I had a smile etched on my face the whole video. What a country, what an airline. And I also felt close to tears…given the hard hand they have been dealt. Most of all I’m left with a passion to visit not only because it looks amazing, but mostly because I want to support the people…they are amazing!
So a two hour flight - a beautiful pre-departure beverage and menus....and on the big three in America you would barely get a snack basket once while the crew sits in the front on their phones. I love your reviews to put our transportation experiences in the US in perspective. Thank you Josh as always!!!
Hello Josh.. thank you so much for visiting our country and lovely video about Myanmar.. Our people are the same as always , kind and friendly .. Please come back again and explore more about different parts of the country. Hopefully after that brutal army gone. Thank you Josh. God bless you.🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Thanks for your trustworthy reviews. Really appreciating the fact that Josh is taking mostly Eco flights which gives the majority of the subscribers a great impression of what to expect. Great differentiation to other aviation vloggers. Cheers, thank you
Hi Josh, what a great video, I was sent to Rangoon to work back in 1976 and lived in the 'Strand Hotel'. What a thrill to see it pass by your taxi window on your drive around town. When I was there all those years ago it was run by the military, so sad to see its done a full circle. Happy New year and all the best from a hot Perth Western Australia. Cheers.
I always read the magazine. It gives me the first hand impression of the PR of the airline's board management. On top of that I can learn about the fleet and routes of the airline.
Yes, but unfortunately since Covid a lot of airlines have discontinued the Flight Magazine. Turkish Airlines used to produce an excellent Flight Magazine but now it has stopped, unfortunately.😢
I also read the inflight magazines. Unfortunately, many airlines have decided to save money and not publish them anymore. But I was happy today when flying Vistara and seeing that they still have an inflight magazine.
Had a wonderful time flying local MAI ATR72-600 as well, Yangon to Myeik . Interesting that they had different pricing for locals and non-locals, and paper boarding passes at that time. Beautiful plane, beautiful place.
You have earned my thumbs up for eating (some) of you vegetables after years of me watching you leave them untouched. I am very glad my daughter (12) has no problem at all loving all veg and fruits. I am very thankful you have made the effort. I wasn't aware many others have made comments relating to this. You did good! Not for US, but for yourself. Balance is everything.
I was there a few months ago. I flew from Bangkok to Yangon with Myanmar Airways. I found it a very good experience. But I found it very strange that although they drive on the right side of the road, 90% of the vehicles on the streets of Yangon were Right Hand Drive.
Before 2010 nobody had a carex except government, just a sim card cost £1000 & only government had access to that, after experiencing some hope and freedom there was no way people would go back to what it used to be like
Love what you do Josh But it’s really hard for someone like me to visit Myanmar with what the military have done to this country. I really hope it all changes soon so tourists will have confidence to travel there.
@TheRangerman00 It's not the military per se but the ones funding the rebel groups who don't want peace. Note that I don't support the military per se, but this simplistic fairy tale version of viewing the world is a falsehood. Time to stop watching BBC. They'll never tell you the truth.
Wow,surprising to see you fly on MAI. I’ve just flown on this during Easter from BKK to YGN.The crew were very nice and the meals were buns in economy but it’s enough. Hope to see you do more exotic airline reviews!
Terrific video Josh! My heart goes out to all the people in Myanmar. Like many countries who have horrid oppressive governments, their people are just trying to live their lives and make a living. The people are who make a country, not their governments.
This video took me back to 1996 when I flew to Yangon to spend time with my father who was the station manager there for Indian airlines and left in 1995 to Myanmar to start the Calcutta- Yangon route for Indian airlines. People there are very friendly. He worked for Indian airlines for 36yrs at various cities like Chennai, Trivandrum, male, Madurai, Yangon but Myanmar was always special for him as he worked with a very young crew and English wasn’t that common then 30 yrs back in that country.
I’m really happy you enjoyed this. 😊❤ I just flew with the same plane but not the same number haha but. When I was traveling to Shan State the plane was shaking and I thought the wing was gonna fall off it’s fearful for me 😂.
Thanks for the video Josh, as a Myanmar national, thank you so much for a good review of Myanmar. I hope you can revisit Myanmar again once the country is in good shape.
Went to Myanmar in 2017. Flew MNA for two segments and it was really good considering horror stories online at the time about their aviation industry. Some of the most friendly and genuine people I've ever encountered. Hopefully there can be some peaceful resolution to current conflict.
i havent went to myanmar since 2018 due to both covid-19 and being blacklisted from the country. it feels so nostalgic looking into the airlines and seeing how it has changed 6 years later. i can even smell the inside of the taxi just by watching this video. im glad you got the chance to visit myanmar and hopefully i too get the chance to visit my relatives someday..
I refuse to let the problem of Myanmar stop me from visiting there. I have my heart of visiting this beautiful country and having a good time out there. I hope I get my chance soon.
I am from Myanmar and i have been on that airline i went to Bangkok with that airlines and the flight was smooth but i mostly was in the toilet pooping and the people on the flight were friendly and i make some friend on that flight.I really appreciate that you want to my country.
We appreciate your visit to our country. It suprises me the fact that foreigners are visiting Myanmar despite the concerns about its situation. Love from Yangon ❤
I visited Thailand and escorted a bike team from Bangkok to Chiang Rai a couple of months ago and got to experience so much culture and many new things. Is the culture in Myanmar similar to the culture in Thailand?
I’ve been exploring Burmese / Myanmar foods in Bangkok. Very delicious and unique - fermented tea leaves, and other ingredients that add crunchiness. 😊🇹🇭🇲🇲🙏🏻 Happy New Year Josh!
I was on this airline flying back to Bangkok from Yangon. Don't need insurance to get into Myanmar anymore and the visa (I'm American) took one day. I was in economy but the plane wasn't full so the seat next to me was vacant and I was able to stretch out. Good accommodations.
Thanks a lot for this lovely video, actually I do read inflight magazines a lot, they are often informative and entertaining, their cabin is not bad and I really appreciate you for eating your veggies, I love seeing friendly happy cabin crew
I’m amazed you could get in the country. I have heard it is a beautiful country with friendly, helpful people. Your tour was fascinating. Nice to give Mr. Latte’s information so those who visit can access his services. I like how you highlight the great crew for their exemplary service.
Wir waren im Feb/März 2016 in Myanmar und es war eine der besten Reisen die ich je hatte! Wie Du sagst: Myanmar deserves the very best! Well spoken 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
totally enjoyedthis video of myanmar / yangon. I have been to myanmar 6-7 times already when I lived in Guangzhou/ china but totally loved the times when I visited yangon. My significant half is from Yangon i have atayed at the Lotte Hotel previouslyas well asin other properties in Yangon but have found everyone in Yangon very warm and welcoming. thanks for saharing this clip Josh.
I flew MAI a year ago from Yangon to Bangkok, economy, and I liked them quite a lot. Seats a bit cramped, but fine for an hour's flight - sandwich and Myanmar beer served. I particularly liked the fact that when we were boarding priority was given to a large group of Buddhist monks, whether out of reverence, or simply because they seemed particularly discombobulated, I don't know. In Yangon, the people were lovely, but the atmosphere was very tense.
Your video made me so happy & nostalgic as well as so much wanting me to go back and visit my own country & of course my family especially I was missing them so much lately. Thank you for your kindness on mentioning those beautiful things about Burmese people & insights.
Went to Myanmar in 2019 was found it an incredible country. The people were so friendly, the food was insanely good and the sights were breathtaking. I hope the situation improves for them and one day I get to visit again.
@@doubler3497 I'm talking the actual people not the military you fool. The people who work in the hotels, the people in the street, the taxi drivers etc are just simply wonderful. The military on the other hand are the ones responsible for genocide.
the only thing greener than the vegetables Josh just ate is my face with envy that hes going to Myanmar for such a different travel experience than most. Great video once again Josh!
I have never imagined and thought of you would have visited Myanmar 🇲🇲...but finally you did and I would like to say "a warm welcome to Myanmar" and thanks for featuring the flight review of former Myanmar flag-carrier, Myanmar Airways International, MAI. If you could spare some times around here, you can take domestic airlines such as Myanmar national airlines, Air KBZ, Mann Yadanarpon Airlines and Air Thanlwin to know how the domestic airlines (mostly operated by ATRs) are like!
Great video, Josh. Just so you know - the only aspect you forgot to share with us is your food experience in Myanmar. It would be nice to share the food experience if time permits. I always read the inflight magazines. I read them before exploring the inflight entertainment.
3:15 to answer your cabin question: I do like it in fact. Stylish grey leather seats. And… 2+2 in business . No IFE , but we can survive that on short flights.
So many charmy, warm hearted, lovely, wonderful and beautiful souls - it was a pure joy to watch this episode with all these sweet people and crew you met. They've made such a positive impact on me.🙏🏻🌞🌟 💝💛💖🌟🌞🌝☀️🥰🤗
I have flown MAI A319s between BKK and Mandalay 8 times in economy while teaching there over the past year. As a Canadian I can confirm everything you have said about the people and amazing sights. Even now in Mandalay outside of lineups to get fuel at gas stations, it is business as usual. Economy class is much more basic with a boxed lunch and a beverage service. No in-flight entertainment so i do read the in-flight magazine. Cabin is a bit worn in places and i have had the odd seat not recline, but overall it is reasonably clean and the airline staff do an amazing job given the current situation. Mandalay IMHO is much nicer and smaller than Yangon and well worth another trip. I would be delighted to show you around and introduce you to the amazing Myanmar bbq experience.
Thai Airways has put its entire Airbus A380 fleet up for sale in an "as-is, where-is" condition following three years of grounding in Bangkok and Utapao. Although its A380s have not completed C-checks since before the pandemic, the jets are still considered airworthy with no permanent grounding directives.
It's always good to see someone showing the bright side of my home, Myanmar. In contrast to what has been happening, our people are really charming, kind and hardworking. May the peace be prevailed very soon to Myanmar ❤
Your people love their freedom thats why they are fighting and whether you agree with me or not as an African I stand with all the rebellion against the government as long as they dont break laws
What are you talking about? Of course, they break the law. A rebellion is the biggest law breaking there is in a country. That's what the rebels are supposed to do. @@terryvarta9306
I'm flying business class from NYC to Bali and Singapore on ANA soon. Gonna be there a whole month. Really excited. I never thought about going to Myanmar. After your video, I doubt I'll bother. I'm more excited for Vietnam/ Cambodia.
About time I was wondering how long it was gonna take you to finally fly them. Also try kbz for domestic flights next. I took them in 2019 and was very surprised. 🙂 They fly an Embraier turbo prop.
In addition to the airline information, you have presented the very fair view of the current situation in our country. Thanks Mr for making the world know our humble reality. Let's hope the better change in our country as our people deserve better. Thanks again for the video

I'm glad that you enjoyed your time in Myanmar !
What a great airline, if only more had similarly motivated and enthusiastic crew.
I was on this airline flying back to Bangkok from Yangon. Don't need insurance to get into Myanmar anymore and the visa (I'm American) took one day. I was in economy but the plane wasn't full so the seat next to me was vacant and I was able to stretch out. Good accommodations.
Finally someone review this airline !
Thanks a lot for this lovely video, actually I do read inflight magazines a lot, they are often informative and entertaining, their cabin is not bad and I really appreciate you for eating your veggies, I love seeing friendly happy cabin crew
This video was amazing.
Everything and everyone so nice.
I wish the best for all.
Thank you for visited our country😊😊😊🎉
I am from 🇲🇲 myanmar😊😊😊
I’m amazed you could get in the country. I have heard it is a beautiful country with friendly, helpful people. Your tour was fascinating. Nice to give Mr. Latte’s information so those who visit can access his services.
I like how you highlight the great crew for their exemplary service.
E-Visa to Myanmar is pretty simple these days, as he had explained. No issues to get into YGN.
I live in myanmar
Wir waren im Feb/März 2016 in Myanmar und es war eine der besten Reisen die ich je hatte!
Wie Du sagst: Myanmar deserves the very best! Well spoken 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Looks like such a beautiful country. Happy New year Josh.
😅 almost people want to leave from Myanmar
I enjoyed my visit in Yangon... also flew via MAI... indeed the people were so nice... from 🇵🇭 here...
Josh for future, if you want the camera to pick up the view outside when its dark, put the lights out, that will help
totally enjoyedthis video of myanmar / yangon.
Means you must have been vaccinated, since back then, being vaccinated was the only way to enter Myanmar.
Yes, Buddhist monks have the highest status in Myanmar, and quite right that they should be allowed to board first ! 👍✈🤣
So friendly that they made their own people refugees.
MNA also flies international routes (like BKK, SIN).
Take back Rohingyas
Great video, Josh. Just so you know - the only aspect you forgot to share with us is your food experience in Myanmar. It would be nice to share the food experience if time permits. I always read the inflight magazines. I read them before exploring the inflight entertainment.
3:15 to answer your cabin question: I do like it in fact. Stylish grey leather seats. And… 2+2 in business . No IFE , but we can survive that on short flights.
Amazing country, my next trip must include Bagan. Cant wait to go back!
Is it safe to travel there? Would love to go
Myanmar is a beautiful country, i visited Yangon in November 2022, very nice place to visit🇲🇲
So many charmy, warm hearted, lovely, wonderful and beautiful souls - it was a pure joy to watch this episode with all these sweet people and crew you met. They've made such a positive impact on me.🙏🏻🌞🌟 💝💛💖🌟🌞🌝☀️🥰🤗
You almost finished your greens…I’ll give you a B+ for effort Josh! Wishing you a Happy New Year. Looking forward to what’s in store for ‘24! 👍
Finally someone who visits my home town
HAPPY NEW YEAR and its nice to see u eat your greens
The one thing that struck me, was just how clean this aircraft was kept, it may be old but it has been well cared for by the airline.
I have always wanter to visit Myanmar and see its quiet safe to travel there, so back on my list. Thanks for sharing.
@@terryvarta9306
me too
What are you? Delusional? There is no bright side there especially with the new conscription law.
Take back Rohingyas
u deserve a subscriber from myanmar
I am from Myanmar 🇲🇲 ❤❤❤
Another interestingvideo. Thank you very much Josh.
Thank you for visiting Myanmar while our country is in war. a new subscriber from Myanmar❤ EDIT: i like myself becuase nobody likes😢
I had a different opinion about Myanmar before i saw your vlog. Your vlog seems to be first vlog about this country
I'm flying business class from NYC to Bali and Singapore on ANA soon. Gonna be there a whole month. Really excited.
I never thought about going to Myanmar.
After your video, I doubt I'll bother. I'm more excited for Vietnam/ Cambodia.
Awesome as Always!
An Airline Safety Card Giveaway/ Sweepstakes would be so 😎
About time I was wondering how long it was gonna take you to finally fly them. Also try kbz for domestic flights next. I took them in 2019 and was very surprised. 🙂 They fly an Embraier turbo prop.
Thank you for visiting my country
Really enjoy seeing these rarer airlines, great video Josh, did you enjoy those greens 🥬
In addition to the airline information, you have presented the very fair view of the current situation in our country. Thanks Mr for making the world know our humble reality. Let's hope the better change in our country as our people deserve better. Thanks again for the video
I'm glad you uploaded this video again. I was wondering why you took it off before.
