Thank you so much I just purchased a 228f 63 model and didn't have a clue to how this was done. Now I know. About to replace the gaskets on both the 530 stove and my lantern.
Yes, I made it myself. Just a simple wooden box with a tray inside. Painted with black spray paint. I also made the Coleman logo stencil out of cardboard then used gold spray paint. Cheers.
Great Video. Do you offer repair services for a sentimental family camping 220f by chance? Just found the old gal in my parents storage. Would love to see her back to glowing and safe.
Thanks for commenting. Well, I can and do repair lanterns for people but I suspect shipping would be an issue. What’s the issue? A 220F is a relatively new lantern and fairly easy to work on. Not much can go wrong with them. If left for a while fuel solidifies and gums stuff up and the cap seal dries up. Just needs a good cleaning. A New cap seal, clean the check valve and clean the generator (or install a new one). Old Coleman parts has all the spare parts.
The link for seals isn’t working. I have a Coleman 290 and when I turn the fuel valve it leaks fuel and loses pressure. Does the generator tube need to be cleaned or just replaced?
Go directly to the Old Coleman Parts website.. Rob and his family are great! This is a newer lantern and I'm not to familiar with them. However, if you turn the valve and it leaks out around the base then it sounds more to me it's like the valve assembly. You could try and tighten the generator and the other nuts in the valve assembly but it may be a seal inside the assembly. These new laternes have a modern mechanisms that do wear out faster than the older ones. They can go bad if they sit for a while. The seals dry up. I hope that helps?
@@MikeFreda The stamp on the bottom says 1986. I plan on taking it apart this weekend to see what’s going on. Hope I can figure it out before our trip to Big Bend in 2 weeks. Thanks for the help.
a new source for seals and or new caps would be appreciated, as the link isn't current. would like to know where to get the seals for a 413f stove cap or better yet update the cap to a 3-piece grooved relief cap instead of the original cap as its much safer.
Thanks for letting me know. I know that Old Coleman Parts recently revised their website and I guess the links are now dead. I've corrected the link. Rob at OCP is a good guy and if you are looking for something in particular, just give them a shout! Cheers.
can't thank you enough for the amazing group of knowledge I've found within this group. I'f I was a betting man I would be hard pressed to find any of the members that Me and my dog wouldn't enjoy hanging out with. keeping in mine Dogs are a excellent judge of people. 413f stove that will cook again.@@MikeFreda
