thank you Stephen colbert, great ear to the ground as always. thank you The National for this, for the respect the Dead deserves and a very tasty cover! definitely looking into this more. P.S. I cannot get enough morning dew. this is going in my folder of best versions for sure. :)
@@sjf4405 This is true. Their version is the most dynamic and well done version out there. This version is a rolling train ride that touches on some key guitar riffs. Such a song would be difficult to present in most popular settings. Remember how Jer would build a crescendo and inject the pain of the world into the lyrics with his strained voice? Had the singer tried to light us up it would have been a fitting tribute. Nice that the material is out there , I guess.
I love your sound. Its a breath of fresh air for someone like myself who has grown tired of most music.
This is a fantastic rendition of this. Fabulous instrumentation with a great singer.
Outstanding
seriously
These guitarists deliver together! Nice show last night at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA.
Man, those guitar players are fuckin' awesome!
Media Monkey died this up during a workout earlier today. Love it!
great song
Oh hell yes.

WoooooooHooooooo
The Grateful dead did not write it, it was written by Bonnie Dobson in 1962 and arranged by Fred Neil in 64.
K but any Deadhead knows this is a Dead song. They made it theirs.

300 years old
This is not a Dead song, this was written by Bonnie Dobson in 1962.
I think of Bonnie Dobson, but then that's just me.
"Rider" would like a word, thanks.
Reposting @Michael Reid ---> The Grateful Dead did not write it, it was written by Bonnie Dobson in 1962 and arranged by Fred Neil in 64.
They do it fine but their version of Peggy-O is very good.
This version is in the same league as the Allman Brothers (31st of February) and the Grateful Dead's Barton Hall version
