I love the concreteness and simplicity of your guides. There are interesting aspects that are often overlooked, such as virtual machine configuration.
However, this is yet another demonstration of how much easier and faster Linux is to install and configure than other operating systems typically considered simpler.
Even Arch is getting too easy! 😁

A few comments: Dolphin as you showed at the beginning and in the rest of the video is quite unusable without icons (you need breeze icons); in KVM, you don't need to set the boot order of the CD the first time you create the machine and start the installation.
In the video you put some text telling that you could change this configuration from Hyprland. However, this should be really shown as done from Hyprland to show that Hyprland dynamically reload the configuration when it changes.
You don't need to disable SDDM: you just need to set those environment variables in the desktop file of Hyprland used by SDDM.
Unfortunately, timing did not help either: wlr/workspaces in the latest release of Hyprland (few days ago) are not supported anymore (you have to use the specific hyprland module for workspaces).
Sorry for the critics, but there are quite a few issues in this video, which might lead to a bad Hyprland experience.

Thank you so much for your valuable feedback. This is very appreciated.
I disabled SDDM to launch Hyprland with the script that I have prepared. The latest version of my dotfiles already includes the environment variables for better performance on VMs.
You're also right that workspaces are now working with hyprland/workspaces instead. My dotfiles are already updated. I will add a comment in the description.
Thanks again for your feedback and for helping the Hyprland community with your tips.

I really like your guide, there is few things I don't agree with firefox is the default is not 100% accurate it is default for most linux distros but not Hyprland as far as I know. If your using the archinstall script it has dolphin, wofi already installed. But i have been trying to learn and you have made some configs and things really easier to understand and get started so thanks for the guid

Can you start the config manualky with python config.py and post the error message? Does the Hyprland installation has worked for you? And I will test the installation scripts again and prepare a video how to install with my scripts.

The Arch install script is one of those things that is supposed to prevent headaches and make your life easier, however it has done quite the opposite for me. I've tried it on 3 separate devices (bare metal, never in vm) and it never worked for me so far. If you forgot something (like NetworkManager) you can just chroot into the install from the iso again and install it. If you didn't follow and know the manual install method you probably would start from scratch with the install script and potentially repeat your mistake, because you do everything at once and not incrementally. And even if it does work you probably still have to change your keymap manually and configure wifi with iwd or something similar beforehand, which can be one of the bigger headaches in the procedure. Plus, I don't like the way the drive configuration works in the script, I prefer and recommend cfdisk which is also kindly provided on the Arch iso. But if it works for you and you know what you're doing and are faster with it, then congrats. Good for you.
I use Arch and hyprland, btw.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I prefer the manual installation as well on my machines. But it was interesting to try out the installation of Hyprland with the arch script. Hyprland becomes more and more popular and it’s great the the archinstall script support it.
