Had the black forest woodworker sitting around forever. Finally needed to cut a tree. Massacred the tree with such a small axe. Ordering different sizes as I watch videos on them
Thanks for the video. I have the Black Forest Woodworker axe and it is phenomenal. I am going to buy a Gransfor Bruks axe for my son, but he used the Helko and agreed it is a top axe.
I pondered these fine axes for a long time. Then I came across CONDOR and bought a forest axe for half the cost and every bit of quality that you find with Helko Werk axes, hand made and American hickory handles... could not be happier
Hallo Hudson, I think it pars up with Gränfors, It is a realy good ax, the only thing that makes Gränsfors better is that I have had Gränsfors for 15 years and it is still as good as new. I have only have Helko for a couple of years
@@Thoristesting thank you for the reply I bought myself the Black Forest woodworker (between the pack axe and the biggest axe) and I’ve really really loved it eventually I will be getting a gransfors bruk as they are the biggest name in quality axes but I’ll also be purchasing more Helko axes In the future too I’m very pleased with their products thank you for the video though there’s is not a ton of videos on German axes
Hi, I just bought a 2kg classic, I realized that the blade is not perfectly straight, what do you think? Is it a defect or can it be there? I honestly thought I would receive an excellent product with a perfectly straight blade. The seller tells me this is normal. Help..thanks
Hallo Mario, hmmmm Its kind of hard to say, can you share a picture, It is a ax so it dose not have a fine edge like a knife, that said, it should in a good state, share a picture so we/I can see it :)

Hi Greg, My though too, Helko is a great ax, hands down, I would take it to the woods anyday, but Granfors is Granfors is Granfors!!!
@@Thoristesting I was just about to ask, is Gransfors still the best??
@@NoahAndVanessa Gränsfors wins by a hair :)
Nice comparisons, I have a few, may need some more, I really like the pack axe sizes when clearing brush,
Thx :) the pack ax is also my favorite overall ax
I have the hatchet and pack axe. I love them both. I find that I reach for them before I reach for my Gransfors hatchet and SFA.
Hallo there, they are deff. up there with Gränforse :)
I just ordered the pack axe, I'm very excited for it!
Hallo there Sir, you will be happy that you did, great ax
I own the pack axe. Absolutely love it. Perfect size for camp.
I just ordered the Rheinland Traditional pack axe. I cant wait.
Lovely! Thanks for sharing!

Was going well until he had his hand under the axe head holding the wood when he sank the axe in the top trying to split it.
Yup I saw that’s too, very lucky he has gloves on
What is your opinion on comparing it too a gransfors bruk not which is better but is helko Werk on par with Gransfors?

Its actually the Traditional Series. The Black Forest Axe is one model in the tradional Series.
Hi Michael, aha I did not know, thx for sharing
Helko Werk makes a beautiful axe. The Classic (polished) series or the Traditional series are all extremely high quality tools.
Great axe, horrible camera guy 🤣
I ordered the forester model. Poor quality, crooked blade. Gaps in handle head fitment. Don't waste your money.
I had the same crooked blade and gaps and was told it was ok to use, sent it back and received a postage less refund. No more from Helko.
