    I ride this bike several times a week, never had any suspension issues. But I also installed Selle Royal saddle for additional comfort. This is a city bike, not an off-road.

    Hey, looks like I found my cheaper Brompton Electric alternative.
    Question though: Brompton has been keeping with the same design for 20 years, and they still make replacement parts for their bikes made 20 years ago. If a part goes bad on the Blix Vika+, how likely will it be that I will be able to find replacement parts 5, 10, or 20 years from now?

    • @goingwithoutmyGPS
      @goingwithoutmyGPS 3 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't trust them with any replacement part. I have a brand new Vika + sitting dead in my garage for a month now. It was shipped to me with a dead battery (among other defects). They don't even have a replacement battery in stock! Kept pushing back the estimate when they'd have it in stock every time I call. Ridiculous...

      @@goingwithoutmyGPS Wow, had my opinion ever changed since I wrote that comment. I ended up ordering a Lectric XP Step-thru about 81 days ago an it just arrived 2 days ago. It’s been great so far.

      @@ex0stasis72 I envy you. It was down to Lectric XP, RadMini, and Vika+ for us. Big reason we went for Vika+ was its weight and faster shipping time than other 2 (summer was approaching). Yes, Vika did arrive earlier, but DOA. Still can't ride it after more than a month of waiting for replacement parts. You made a much better decision than me, obviously.

    • @ex0stasis72
      @ex0stasis72 3 роки тому +2

      @@goingwithoutmyGPS To be fair, I’ve read reports of some people in the Lectric XP owners group on Facebook that their Lectric XPs came DOA as well and that they had to wait until replacement parts got shipped.

      @@ex0stasis72 I understand no one is perfect, but shipping a non-functional product to customers is a big No-No in my opinion. Perhaps our expectation for this industry is so low that we just accept it as a part for the course. But equally important is how quickly a company responds to their mistakes; that's what separates a good company from bad. In my opinion, Blix fails pretty badly.

    There better be an option to make it go faster than 18mph.
    Regardless, the lack of suspension makes it a deal-breaker for me.
    Over and over again, we see the e-bike makers skimp on features.

      Profit Glen says:
      "There better be an option to make it go faster than 18mph. .."
      ==
      That would be an electric moped and should not be allowed on the bicycle trail or bicycle lane.
      And insurance, registration, mandatory helmet.
      E-bike means "power assisted" bicycle with 15mph(or 25 kmh) limit.

    This company has the worst quality control! I bought a new Vika+, and came to me with a huge gash across the center of the frame which was hard to miss as it was the first thing I saw when opening the box. And, of course, dead battery! Who was doing the quality control / inspection here before they shipped out the goods?? I'm still waiting for the touch up paint and replacement battery for a month now! Every time I called, the estimate availability got push back more. I should have considered some other companies. Arrghhhh

    Are you freaking kidding?? 1699 and you call it value?? Have you ever heard about the Fiido d1, d2, d3?? Or Alfawise x1 ?? Cost 450-650$ and perform amazingly. some even have suspension.

    • @Electrek
      @Electrek  5 років тому +18

      Yea, we see people make comments like this a lot. Some people can't tell the difference between Walmart bikes like those, and good quality e-bikes with brand name components, batteries that last more than half a year and actual warranties. When your Fiido from Walmart dies an early death, you'll understand why people pay for mid-range e-bikes in the $1.2k-$2k range.
