I totally agree! How does this not have 1000's of views and like's???? I would like to have seen how you got the thin background clouds on the second one before you started putting in the cirrus clouds with the brush.
Hello Everyone, today we are painting three types of cloud using different techniques. Links are in the description for the brushes and sponge that I used 😊
Thank you so much for this! Each type of cloud is perfect for a different type of scene and having the opportunity to see the lot of them all in one place makes it so much easier for me to learn. Thank you so much for your contribution to my increasing confidence in my art ❤
Hiya, All three techniques look great but I particularly like the last one with the cotton buds, as It looks like the 'Mackerel Sky' clouds that are so difficult to do with a brush. The second technique could be translateable as the white horse wave tops seen on blustery days on the sea. Thanks very much and take care.x
Thanks David, I didn't know the term 'Mackerel Sky' so I've learned something today too! It's surprising what effects you can create with everyday objects instead of a brush. 😊Take care.
@@IdyllicAcrylicArt 7.10am here with a gorgeous blue Pennine sky and a Blackbird really going for it ! Mackerel sky is that effect quite often seen in the winter in GB where ice crystals form really high up in the atmosphere giving a wavy barred effect like the pattern on the side of a Mackerel. x
I did a little bit of painting years and years ago (76 years old now) and this has been such a huge inspiration for me to try it again. Thank You for this and the inspiration you've started again. Just subscribed also.
@@IdyllicAcrylicArt When working with acrylic paints do you let a layer dry before adding the next part of the painting? Example: When painting the clouds do you let the blue sky part dry before doing the clouds? Thank you for the encouragement and reply.
You need to explain a bit more for us beginners. What type of sponge, the back ground blue, what color of blues and do you use in the back ground? the different greys in the clouds?? how many different greys are there? Is that an ice scape on the bottom. You do amazing work, but us beginngers need more info not music. TY
thanks for your comment. 😊There is a link in the description for the sponge used, but any artist sponge will create a similar effect. I used cobalt blue, but again you could use any blue you like depending on the sky you are painting. I used paynes grey and white for greys, but any grey would do depending on the effect you want. I painted a simple mountain on the bottom to show how the clouds work with any landscape. I will definitely try to give more information in future videos, thanks so much for the feedback. 👍
Thank you so much for this video it was so helpful i really liked the way you've painted these clouds so effortlessly i will be trying them out soon even tho I've tried the sponge technique but it didn't work so well maybe i was not doing it the right way also second one was the best ❤️it deserves so many viewss
thank you so much! i will try one of them, but i want to ask for the brush technique, is the background color (blue in your painting) still wet or is it okay if the background is already dry? thanks so much!
Thanks for watching. 😊The background was dry in all 3 demonstrations, however for the second technique you could use it on a wet sky too and blend it more (this works particularly well for sunsets). 👍
@@IdyllicAcrylicArt thanks so much! i tried to paint clouds one day and it didn't work, i think because i used a flat brush and used too much white paint. i think you use a dry painting technique in the video, is it?
I used a small mop brush, but you can get them in different sizes. If you don't have a mop brush, often a fluffy make up brush can do a similar job. Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks so much for your comment. Any sponge would be good, but you can buy art sponges exactly like the one I used on Amazon. I've put a link in the description 😊I cut the sponge into smaller pieces as needed. Thanks for your support💕
This deserves to be viral.
That is so kind of you to say my friend 😊Thank you

I disagree. Is gray added in the first technique on the sponge??. We don't know that. Also what sort of sponge is it. Many unanswered questions

The most easiest way
I will definitely love to try all of these but what type of brush did you use on the second part? Thank you!

Did you cut the sponge in half
Hi, yes I did to make it smaller, but it's not necessary. Most sponges will work 😊
Can you tell me what size and brand of mop brush you are using? Thanks!
Hi, mine is a Grumbacher 3/4", but really any medium sized fluffy brush would work. 😊
Amazing! 😃..could you please share a link to the sponge you are using?🙂..thanks in advance!
