  • Sorry it’s been so long since we posted a video!
    I’m going to try to start posting more.
     The next step is going to be figuring out how to get attached to our other solar panels.
    Thanks so much for watching.

    Wow just beautiful. Too hot here in the Terlingua desert to do anything.

    Just an idea--you could freeze Ziploc bags of water or something similar when it's SUPER hot and stick one up under there when you anticipate Bunny Bunny. Or just a little water dish? I try not to interfere but I worked in a restaurant and couldn't resist chucking vegetable "trash" to some of the bunnies where we lived. They didn't mind a bit! No pattern to it really so I don't think they came to depend on it or anything. I spray the undersides of things now once a day or so hoping all the poor little beastiest get at least one drink today. It's HOT!

    Great work Brian! Pam, I would suggest blings on those windows. When the sun is shining in, close the blinds. As the sun shifts open them again. You should find your indoor temps even lower than currently. It really is a fantastic build. Really impressed! Thanks for the video!

    looking good so far ... i imagine the heat is incredible at times ... good luck with the solar hookup, there's always many ways to do it, hope find an easy one.

      Thanks! Fingers crossed for the solar hookup. We've waited way too long for it and are suffering in the RV. Hopefully we can find a way to get this step done and improve our situation in the RV at the same time.

    So is that T-111 siding? I didn't see what you used for nailers. I guess I'll see this evening when we talk solar. I really like the contrast with the red color. I can't wait to get our roof on to see how the ICCF performs now that it has concrete in it. Your results are amazing!

    • @MidlifePrices
      @MidlifePrices  Рік тому

      It's actually called LP SmartSide panelling. I think it's pretty similar to T-111, but not sure what the exact differences are. It's just nailed into the OSB sheathing, which has either studs or truss ends behind it on the front and back of the house. On the sides, it's really just attached to the sheathing. It was performing great until I wrapped it in plastic, which has sent the temperature up a bit, but should just be temporary.

    So I started watching y'all's video on making adobe bricks. Then the videos on the house. It's so awesome what y'all are doing!!. I was stationed at Ft Huachuca and used to ride my dirt bike all over Cochise county. Now I'm a contractor here at Ft Bliss. Anyway, can't wait to see the finished house. God bless.

    Hi Pam & Brian the house is looking really great. You guy's have put in a lot of work and we I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I do hope your neighbours Bill & Yvonne are well it must be a year or more since they posted a video. Do you still get much flooding where you are?

      It's hit and miss, and we are slowly making improvements to the wash to distribute the flow better. Unfortunately, when a BIG one comes, there's only so much you can prevent!
