- The people of Ladakh have been protesting for months to demand the 6th schedule & full statehood for Ladakh. Headed by education reformist Sonam Wangchuk, Ladakhis are trying to convey the on-ground reality and plight to the Central Government and remind the ruling party of their promises.
We documented the situation more closely where people explained not just the importance of these demands but also talked about their rights, the fear they hold if none of this is fulfilled, their helplessness, and above all, the hope they still have from the Government.

To phir unke liye bhi hindi videshi bhasha hi hai. Aur unke perspective se hindi khatarnak hai unke native language and culture ke liye. Independence movement se lekar aaj tak, jo political tyranny hindi ke peeche rahi hai wo aur kisi language ke paas nahi. Is it any wonder, then, that they aren't very happy about hindi imposition agenda?
Accha khasa lingua franca ke liye English hai. Koi usme ethnic, regional, religious jhamela nahi. Sabka kaam chalne do usi se. Hindi apne region mein hi limited rakho. Baaki ko unki apni languages rakhne do.
Kyu faltu mein wo log jabardasti hindi bole, hindi padhein. Tumhare school mein kitna kannada padhaya gaya. Aur jab koi southerner northward migrate karta hai to tum log kitna unse unki language mein baat karne ki koshish karte ho. To phir chup raho.
Itna wo log already northerners ke sath adjust karte hain, hum logon se kahin jyada hospitality wo log immigrants ko dikhate hai, north ke languages and north ke culture ko itna accomodate karte hain. Uske liye grateful hone ko reh gya, tum log ulta un logon ki aarti utaarte ho jo "Hindi ko rashtrabhasa banayenge" chillate phirte hai. OP ne ek line kannada me kya likh diya, tum logon ki gaand me aag lag gayi.

Everytime I watch a video on this issue and Sonam sir's efforts to save I have tears of helplessness. No matter how much I share or like such content as a virtual citizen of India I feel I am not doing enough. My own land Uttarakhand has gone through this and I know what has happened to it now. I really pray that things happens and true democracy prevails!

Although these guys were very happy when special status was taken away.
They are demanding tribal status under 6th schedule and full statehood , the central government is apprehensive about the misuse of autonomy and power by local politicians, enviornmenal activists ,wokes to disrupt the military infrastructure projects which is absolutely necessary for national security..China is aggressively building military infrastructure in the region ,we can't afford to let these enviornmenal activists and wokes to ruin our military infrastructure projects..

Kashmir is a valley, Ladakh is in an extremely ecological sensitive zone like Uttarkashi which is why it requires protection. Also, all Sonam Wangchuk is wanting at this time is cooperation of the central government only. BJP itself promised in its manifesto that they would bring Ladakh under 6th schedule and won an election on that basis.

Kashmir is a valley, Ladakh like Uttarkashi is an extremely ecological sensitive zone and requires protection from unchecked development. Also, all Sonam Wangchuk has been doing is asking for cooperation from the central government only as the BJP in its manifesto promised bringing Ladakh under the 6th schedule and won an election.
By watching this person fast for his people rights , and no one from government listening to him is really painful , any sensible govt should listen to them.
