Hi friends, Thanks a lot for all your interest and enthusiasm. Many of you have asked about the following. Let me answer you. Weather conditions: Yes very dense fog can reduce its signal stregth but in high Himlayas that is very rare, its clear & sunny most of the time. I don't remember ever seeing fog in these mountains. Birds: Yes technically any obstruction can cause signal break but a flying bird crossing would be rare and in miliseconds. Snow fall: Although we have some snowfall, there's no problem from it. Snow can slide from the solar panels and the optical units are well covered. Plus they can be raised from the ground in such places. But thank you all very much for all your curiosity, criticism and above all enthusiasm

Amazing work sir using LiFi in the mountains of Ladakh. No doubt You are one of the finest Engineers and Teachers of INDIA. And Thanks to IIT Guwahati for the transfer of technology of Novel Free-Space Optical Communication System .
Never knew that IIT Guwahati has transferred the technology. Thanks for the info. We already did a similar project using LiFi tech during the G20 summit in Assam a few months ago...though Sonam Sir has mentioned that LiFi is a cheap and cost effective solution but we had a different experience.. First, LiFi connectivity is not fully stable (especially during night), the connectivity frequently drops and gets disconnected and 2nd, also the cost of establishing a LiFi link is not cheap (infact the cost is few hundred times more) when you compare this with other available technology like RF (Radio Frequency) P2P links.
Salute to you Sir !!! Being a doctor from Assam and seeing so many medical and engineering colleges openeing up recently in various states of our country with hundreds of crores from Govt, i really feel that your HIAL should be upgraded with govt. Fundings so that more such brilliant students from all over our country be benefited from your hands on experiences !!! And indeed this technology could be used in our nearby states like Arunachal also where still now telecom companies are spending crores of rupees unnecessarily digging mountains and destroying wildlife for sending optical fibres !!!
Mr Wangchuk you are an absolute genius. Keep up the good work. Your innovative ideas are not just providing connectivity in the region but also helping with employment. The most wonderful thing is that you have actually worked with nature and did not see the mountains as an obstacle. But a means to a solution. Well done!!

Very interesting. What was the name of the project you worked on and who was it headed by? Was there anything published about it? I'm assuming this is why Li-Fi hasn't really gotten much attention since people started making videos about it 7 yrs or so ago...
He was saying it's cost effective in terms of geographical areas such as ladakh .it's effectiveness deviates from place to place and cost would of course deviate.

The real example of problem solving attitude and no doubt your perseverance made things possible. You are great Sir🙏.
its a college level project ..lifi is an old tech ..he is just connecting it with commercially available batteries and components ..what problem solving ..read about wi max that got failed commercially ..this guy dont have any patent ..He is a marketing thug ..BTW i m a telco engineer for 15 yrs and have seen these projects in hiring drives of 4th year students .
"There is no science without experiments"
you have a great mento / inventor Lots of love ❤️ Sir👍🏻
Jai Hind 🇮🇳.
I'm from SIACHEN and we also have the internet issues we barely have the 3G service. This is a very GREAT solution, for areas like LADAKH and BALTISTAN since there are lot of mountains.
Love From BALTISTAN ❤
You guys can surely use this bro
Where is baltistan brother
in haryana we are using Jio5g 400Mbps-1Gbps constant speed

Dear @Sonam sir, I am huge supporter of your movement for statehood and implementation of 6th schedule for Ladakh. In fact, I am also from a Northeast state called Tripura. And more than anything, I am a huge fan of your engineering innovations. Hope to meet you someday and be part of your sustainable technology.
Sir you are pride of India 🇮🇳
Hope we have more intelligent people like you caring about the environment
Amazing work sir using LiFi in the mountains of Ladakh. No doubt You are one of the finest Engineers and Teachers of INDIA. And Thanks to IIT Guwahati for the transfer of technology of Novel Free-Space Optical Communication System .
Sir Can I get contact Number of person of IIT Guwahti who has made this technology.....I want some assistance from him
Never knew that IIT Guwahati has transferred the technology.
Very very innovative. That’s what an engineer is meant for ! Hats off
Engineers are builders, he is mentor
"Everything is possible where sonam wangchuk is living, because he is a legend person."
That's incredible, telecom companies should explore this option and implement it where ever it is needed. Thanks a lot Sonam Sir, Kudos to you.
I remember doing Science exhibition on Li-fi communication 9 years before , Excited to see someone has implemented the same for a great purpose 🤩
Like you only I'm also having same as my college projects.

This is the kind of innovation we need in each school of India, Sonam sir is an Inspiration for all Indians,
Mr Wangchuk you are an absolute genius. Keep up the good work. Your innovative ideas are not just providing connectivity in the region but also helping with employment.
The most wonderful thing is that you have actually worked with nature and did not see the mountains as an obstacle. But a means to a solution. Well done!!
Amazing initiative by you Sir. I can’t stop complimenting about you and the amazing work by your school. Please keep up your commendable efforts, India is with you. Jai Hind!!
Wonderful
This is for sure something that can change the world. I'm more proud of Mr. Wangchuk than I've ever been for myself !!!
Sir I am saluting your talent and simplicity. India needs you. We need youu sir keep contributing for the nation sir. More power to you.
This is called innovation, and thinking differently and considering the barrier as an opportunity is something that is unique to each person. Thank you for educating humans. Salute to you!

Fantastic job, Sir Sonam! As someone who presently resides in Silicon Valley, California, I feel immensely proud of your commendable efforts to expand connectivity to our distant communities. I sincerely urge you to continue your amazing work. 🙏
Aap jaise mahan scientists ko salute hai sir . ye media or rajneta koi ladakh ke baare mai nahi soch raha hai hum sab aapke sath hai sir or ladakh ki problem ko jyda se jyda share kare rahe hai.
This man is just on another level 🔥
He taught us that problem is just an excuse..... ❤️
Pure Respect!! This is not madhyam marg, this is extreme engineering marg. :-)
Wish I will be able to visit your premises some day.
Sir, a big big Thank You. Like many other initiatives of yours , this too is an out of the box initiative which holds the potential to bring a new renaissance in the field of internet connectivity in our country.
I want to visit Ladakh just to witness your creativity in different domains.. thank you for being there for India and Indians 🙏
Great work and efforts. I feel so happy that people like you still exist who make the impossible seems possible. Kudos to HIAL and Nav-tech.
Dear Sonam sir, am engineer and Buddhist in state of Gujarat, you are best role model for me,
beacon of hope for all engineers, youth also, you showed us how to see a problem as an opportunity and work with/around it, amazing! Hope to meet you and SECMOL kids 1day...
India is fortunate to have u sir.. good to see u working on these innovative ideas. Thank u so much for this❤🇮🇳🇮🇳
I AM REALLY PROUD OF YOU SIR🙏🙏🙏🙏
What a legend! Such a privilege to be able to learn from you Sir! Respect from Hyderabad ❤
Very Good technology that too in a place like Ladhak.... Thanks for sharing this information sir.

i came to the comment section to congratulate him didn't think this is the real backstory
Very interesting. What was the name of the project you worked on and who was it headed by? Was there anything published about it? I'm assuming this is why Li-Fi hasn't really gotten much attention since people started making videos about it 7 yrs or so ago...
The technology is more viable in Ladakh due to the dry weather (less moisture) and altitude (clear air)
@@vineetr5140 How viable would it be during snowfall?
He was saying it's cost effective in terms of geographical areas such as ladakh .it's effectiveness deviates from place to place and cost would of course deviate.
I'm from Pakistan? I have a question? Is this man a Einstine? what a great idea recently discovered this man it's great idea specially for those who use to live in mountain regions and have not internet access
Yup
बहुत ही अद्भुत आविष्कार है सोनम सर 👏
Sir, you r awesome👍
I really love the way u see the nature and implement the modern technology in such a way that humans gets its full benefits without harming the environment....... I really feel proud that there is a man whose visions in science and technology is just next level......
I wish I could work with you in future❤
We need more people just like you in India.....

Your 15min video filled me with full enthusiasm and excitement about how far we can reach with simplistic method of your teaching and guidance. And very happy that you used Indian made technology and self made techniques.
What a revolutionary way to implement LIFI in this kind of hard and chilled climatic condition state, Official salute to you sir and your team for making the internet easily accessible for everyone there.
Thankyou 😊
This is just genius. Sonam sir you're amazing man, to take such steps keeping the environment in mind. The team work / community of Ladakh is commendable for supporting such cause.
I have nevere seen such a revolutionary person. Glad to you and your work sir❤
I had seen a TED talk about Lifi couple of years ago and was very excited for it. Happy to see it being implemented in India!
Sir, You're an inspiration! I worked on similar technology in university. You and your team's resilience is commendable and gives me so much motivation! Much love from Bangalore
I did a very small project on lifi
