Hey girl, would you feel comfortable sharing your template for lessons/units/curriculum mapping?? Newbie teacher over here and planning effectively is always a source of stress for me !! Thank you for sharing so many great tips!
As someone a year away from becoming an elementary teacher, thank you so much! I have been frantically thinking about how I would make sure I was addressing all of the state standards and teaching on an effective schedule but your ideas on coming up with a curriculum map are so helpful. Your advice is so helpful and realistic, which is much appreciated. Keep up the amazing work!
Omg girl I used to be at school all day lesson plannings. We are required to lesson plan online but I am going to start planning this summer so it is easier 😩
I swear this is amazing!! And the fact that you have the time to even do these things daily is a commodity!! My school has meetings on top of meetings during any form of planning time and let’s not talk about if you have a husband and children of your own 😩 I am in year 19, but have been out of the classroom as a Reading Specialist for the past 6 years. I appreciate this because feel overwhelmed like a new teacher but without the new teacher energy and excitement that comes with newbies!! Thank you so much for this alternate way of planning!!
I love this video! I am currently at school and I have about more than a year left , but we are using videos as observations and you're helping me finish my essay for this week's essay. I can see myself coming back to your channel for tips when I become a teacher, so I will definitely subscribe :)
Wooooow... if only I had seen this video my first year... LOL... I was definitely one of the last to leave the school! These are great tips. I love your schedule!
Thank you for sharing in perfect clarity through your experiences from following your schedule that takes all the unneeded stress through proper planning. The days you do which items, how far in advance, all your sharing your for teaching in such a beautifull way! A true blessing .
I was never told in college to take a teaching class. So I have zero idea how to lesson plan and I’m so scared that this will make me a bad teacher. Your video is definitely helpful
I'm so glad I found these videos. I'm in college and the class I'm in is not really explaining how to make and about lesson planning. Though I'm late on deciding look it up myself but it's better late then never
Great advice in this vid, Shakira! It's sooo easy to get sucked into spending all day at school (coming in early/staying late). I'm totally guilty of doing that, still, but it does get easier as you teach longer (your second year will be infinitely easier than your first!!) Love you, sweet friend. :)
You seem to have it all figured out! I remember when I used to be this detailed, bright eyed and smile. I'm nearing a decade in teaching and I feel dead inside so thanks for the invigorating videos!! lol Enjoy
@@missyjayjay1 Gosh, I feel badly for first year teachers during this time. Hang in there, it gets better!! Or if it's not your calling, stay in school and RUNNN (towards another career) because its not for the faint of hearts..
Cali .Sunkissed'89 it’s literally an experience for me. I love helping kids but Lord have mercy not in a teaching role. A lot of veterans teachers said teaching use to be fun but it’s just not the same anymore. I just keep thinking about my main goal I’m trying to reach which is being a Psychologist/Psychiatrist and my population is adolescents to young adults. Thinking of that is helping me not rip my hair out 😂
@@missyjayjay1 I OVERstand! lol Well if you feel that way now then I would say follow your intuition!! There are teachers in many capacities, you don't have to be in the trenches with the students to reach them.. I wish I had continued my education and went to law school. Now I am stuck and feeling jaded. lolll good luck
Cali .Sunkissed'89 the kids I can manage, they are fine, I can work with and around that. It’s the other side of teaching I’m talking about that no one likes to talk about 😂. And it’s definitely not to late for you to go to law school. School districts need lawyers too!
This was very helpful! This is my first year teaching 4th grade math to EC kid and your process will help me a lot, including a space for differentiation strategies and also for questions!
This is so helpful! Even though I'll be teaching special education high school, your process makes a lot of sense to me. I am going into my first year of teaching and watching as many of these videos as I can :) I was wondering if you have your LP Template available on TpT?? If not its totally okay--I love that you included a space for differentiation strategies!
Great idea: - love the advice of planning a week ahead Monday- Look at standards, assessments, vocabulary and I Can Statements Tuesday- Look at curriculum calendar; plan lesson; decide on centers needed and small group instruction Wednesday- collect and find all the materials together Thursday- prep all materials Friday- create the anchor charts needed
Hi I loved your schedule a lot and your lesson plan and curriculum plan templates can u please make a video to show how to do them or send us the template for them I'm inspired ❤️
Hello, I am doing research related to lesson planning in different countries, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions on this topic. 1. Do you prepare a plan for each lesson? A-yes B-no 2. How much time do you spend preparing the plan of the lesson? 3.What part of the lesson plan is the most important in your opinion?
When I did my training they expect my lesson plans handed in the next day. I was teaching 80% at that time. I felt I really was at my lowest but I couldn’t even say anything to them.
Thank you for your tips! It's always useful to see how other teachers plan as I think it allows for a collaboration ideas to try and make THE perfect method! I really like your "I can" statements, I've never seen that specifically mentioned in a lesson plan before but I think it's a great idea to make sure you keep your activities and lesson focused xx

Thank you so much Deanda! 💗💗
How do you normally plan? xx
Same here! Lesson planning is my weakness

Love it! We lesson plan on onenote, but I’ll definitely be using this schedule to stay ahead! Teacher burnout is REAL!!
Yes! Burnout is so real! 😩 Having a schedule really helped me.
1st year teacher and these tips are great! Thank you!

Great planning strategy! Bit by bit is the best way. I also make sure to get my copies made a week ahead as well.

LOVE THIS! So helpful to new teachers!! I used to come in a 7 and leave at 6 and just...NOPE 😂
This was literally me at the beginning of the year! And had to get my life together quick 😂

Hi, yes! It is on my website savedbythebellresources.com :)
Question, how much of these resources are actually covered by the school? or are teachers paying for them out of their own pocket?
Out of pocket. However, when we have a fundraiser, we are given a budget to buy resources
