I can’t thank you enough Justin - I watched your videos and adjusted my approach to learning - it changed my entire mindset as a now mature student - I got 91% in my final exams and I can confidently say it was down to your channel. Thank you for sharing your expertise - a blessing I wish I had got earlier in life!

Avoid the illusion of learning 6. Test yourself earlier and more often 7. Test at each level of knowledge 8. Test yourself in different ways 9. Assume you’ll make every mistake again 10. Do space repetition and active recall properly 11. Rote memorize but only as a last resort 12. Use flashcards, memory, palace’s and link methods for rote memorization 13. Study with friends, only sometimes 14. Study ahead to get ahead 15. Scoop every subject to 10x your learning efficiency 16. Use cognitive load to delete passive learning 17. Create analogies 18. Nr 2. Is probably the biggest point. There are no shortcuts for hard work. Sure you can work hard in different ways but hard work is necessary regardless. If it were easy, everyone would do it.
@@IFYOUWANTITGOGETIT Assuming he saw it, probably because lists like this are rather useless at conveying insights. Very little can be gained from one sentence summary. I do like these comments for navigation though, and it'll be helpful if I ever come back to the video and want to listen about a specific thing.
Can't express my gratitude to do you proper justice. For anyone asking, yes his methods work just the way he says they would. The crazy part is, I'm not even on the course, yet my studying efficiency skyrocketed! Regardless will enroll in the course eventually.
58 MIN?!?!?!?!? Bro I been stuyding for exams and following along with your videos all day today and you drop this 58 min nuke... forever grateful for you
For the past few years, school has been stressful as I needed to achieve excellent grades to pursue my ideal career. When I discovered your channel, your content truly helped me understand how to learn effectively and as a result, school has become more manageable with improving results. I couldn't thank you enough and I hope you achieve the success you deserve!
Watching this vid is like that moment you realize a crazy philosophical concept that fascinates your 10yo mind. Thank you for changing the trajectory of my life.
Amazing. I have used these advices for around 1.5years ,made so many mistakes but finally had the light bulb moment recently , ofc it's growing as it's so flexible and i am trying to incorporate more techniques to create a system but it truly made me love studying and made me hopeful because even i started to think i was becoming dumber each day. Thank you! ❤
Thanks Justin! Learning has been so much more enjoyable since I started watching your videos. And again I just realised how important it is to keep a learning log, I thought I could just reflect on my mistakes when learning and then change them next time. But it turns out i forget about it and end up in with the same mistakes again... Anyways, you're awesome!
I love the content, I was burnt out few weeks ago, i was watching your and then identified my trigger which effected the most to study and it lead to burnt our I have a path to improve it may take sometime. This video gave me a light bulb ohhh i am lagging or hold back here Thank you so much justin sung
Thank you very much for this Sir. Justin and to your team it means the world to me from the third world country aiming to be better at my field, I'm an educator.
Hey Justin, you have truly helped me from re-reading baggage and panic to remember the syllabus. Thank You. Can you make a video guide on how the practical practise look like on a daily basis for a full-time graduate student?
Justin can you please please in a reel tell us from where to start bcz you have soo many videos and as a beginner who wants his learning skills to become better he is confused by seeing alot of video sometimes im just random clicking and thinking i dont know what should i watch first and start working on it. I cant afford or buy you course can you please help
Dear justin, Would you please create a pleaylist with step by step direction for beginners? I know it is going to take a lot of time, but would be immensely helpful for struggling students like me who often find many strategies too hard.
Thank you. 😢 JESUS MY Heavenly Father hear my prayers. As a single mother, raising not one but two children with special needs can be overwhelming. I’m constantly struggling to pay bills. Struggling to buy groceries, struggling to do it all. I want to give up however faith is all I have left and faith is all I need. FATHER GIVE ME YOUR STRENGTH. IN JESUS NAME
i first do priming then i read through pacer and interleaving and then I do mind mapping(grinde) and flashcards then practise papers followed by spaced repetition please rate my study sysytem
Great no BS video, after so many vidoes I’ve become familiar with a lot of the strategies you teach, however I’m not sure how to implement a learning log. I do a lot of habit tracking and made high Yule d techniques a part of it and realized how little I use them but aside from that not sure how to start. A learning log that is useful and I’ll actually go back to
Hii.. justin, I'm Meraki I’ve been reflecting on the concept of deep thinking and wanted to ask you a question that’s been on my mind: "Deep thinking often feels like the art of peeling away layers of assumptions and illusions to reach the core of truth. Yet, it’s said, 'We know more than we think, but it’s our thinking that prevents us from knowing what we already know.' How do we distinguish between surface-level thoughts and true depth of understanding? What practices or mindsets can help us transcend the limitations of habitual thinking and connect with the deeper knowledge that lies dormant within us? How can I integrate this into my daily life to create meaningful insights?"
i was trying to learn a new course , cybersecurity. i was getting increasingly frustrated because yesterday when i listen to a lecture and took some side notes i thought i understood the content. today i woke up and tried an assignment but couldn't remember anything and did not understand the questions. it made me disheartened
Obviously, I lack to your expertise on learning how to learn but have you considered investing into personalized learning methods? You probably have seen the literature regarding people having different emotional and cognitive strengths and weaknesses so there's plenty of opportunities to provide precision learning (similar to precision medicine).
Hey Dr Justin I Hope You're good and hole. You answer me My name is halwest a 3rd year medical student from Kurdistan iraq uni of suleimani You said that we should test our selves constantly, But my question is that we don't have practice questions for our lectures and any other practice question would not be helpful bc it contains a ton irrelevant content So how should we test ourselves and what should we use ?
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢⁉️Can u make a video compare & contrasting deep level processing & encoding,.. & how to master training both of them once and for all w the sweet spot cognitive load?? & plss make it indepth.. 30 min+ long would be a christmas present 🥺🥺🥺🥺 PLLLLEEEEEAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE! ❤Sidenote: THANKYOU, This video was REALLY good - priming, and then doing the Feynman technique outloud using my summary mind map was my break through!
Justin, I am a computer science student Is there any technique, I should focus on? I did your test on my learning system, and in it, I got 33% encoding and around 38% for overlearning and the rest are just zero basically, What tecchiques should I learn? The only problem I have right now is that I do not know what to do for the coding part of the computer science and I am learning mindmap to understand the theory part better now but the pratical part of my syllabus is fun but the theory part is not as fun What do I do to fix that? and reduce the amount of time needed for learning the pratical part ? It will nice if you could help
Ur watch is very very very attractive , i would say ur watch is a distraction in this video , dont know why it just .... like "oh man i love that watch" , loved ur ideas but loved ur watch more 😂, can u please tell me which watch it is ? i mean model number or something😂
Hey Justin why don't you make a video on sleep. You have rated sleep under S (highest valu) category yet we people have trouble falling asleep, and the quality of sleep improvements
I first do priming then I read through pacer and interleaving and then I do mind mapping(grinde) and flashcards then practice papers followed by spaced repetition please rate my study system
I almost spend my day studying but mostly my time get waste in concentration get lost and day dreaming, thinking about success, which affecting me alot can you tell your story how you get rid of it
Sir can you just show demonstration on tackling subjects like history on mindmaps.. I only incorporate big events on mindmap when i deal with history.. Small events on flashcards.. Is it the right way?
Apologies for saying something out of topic of video. #Question: I always tend to forget what the teacher just explained after a few minutes making me want to copy paste there words on notebook just to be able to remember them later, preventing me from taking effective notes. Do you know of any way to counter that?
Hi justin, I have a question, these techniques are sll good for conceptual understanding and ability to apply in various scenwrio, but how can these be effecticely trsndlated to essay/ S-A questions which have a focus on technical terminology and articulation, to improve in the articulation of these arudous concepts how would u do this, would u memorise articulate sentences relating to eqch topic which can be used in any q, how would you manoeuver through this?
id say that conceptual understanting (like what you would get from a book) is precisely what you need for essay type questions, just in a deeper way than for multiple choice questions (because in those you can go eliminating the more obviously wrong answers), the rest is writing hability, being able to articulate ideas with the repertoir you learned is basicaly the hability to make an argument, that you learn through reading good texts (like books, articles, etc) and practicing by writing your own essays and arguments and practice tests
Hello! I have a query. I noticed when I try to present every relationship in my mind map it gets dense and arrows start to cross each other. In this case should I leave the less important relationships and just add the important ones? And when I leave the less important connections should I take notes as to how they are connected?
As a Muslim, I would really appreciate a video of you critiquing the different ways people today understand and learn the Quran. It doesn't have to be long, but it would be very insightful, considering the many different techniques and types of knowledge that have been accumulated over the years on this topic.
I have said this so many a times and I will say it again ❤. Justin you have changed my life to next level . Applying the G R I N D E method in mindmap’s saved hours and hours of time for me. Previously i used to study entire day , having bad health , anxiety , stress and tensions. Now i am able to spend time with my mom , and family and have a balance between both work and personal life. You have done EXCELLENT job to the study community ❤️🙏. World will always remember your good work 🙏
