But that doesn't mean they aren't talented, they just need time to get used to the new environment. While having a packed schedule, loads of criticism for every little mistake from both the public and their company, extreme dieting, hardly spending time with friends/family esp of they are foreigners. Ad Mare is honestly such a polarizing and experimental debut. O.O’s production and song structure is very.. interesting, ngl the nmixx switch up part is not a bridge but a whole other part by itself sure it is very contrasting to its counterpart however it does not bridge the two parts of the song together - in fact it tears the whole song apart, the production is also absolutely jarring which is the whole point. TANK’s structure is quite linear and typical however the production is highly experimental and non-linear and I can see why people prefer it more as it feels more normal for k-pop structure wise. TANK is definitely a final boss fighting song it’s just very loud in that way, reminds me of when I spar in Taekwondo (and when i actually win which is a bit rare). Pokemon has also had a big influence on my life and my love for music so seeing you talk about both made me giddy lol. Ngl when you were talking about the piano in the bridge and its intimidating feel, it made me think of Dialga and Palkia’s theme and how the piano there is used to demonstrate a sense of reverence and power. I grew up with Pearl and Platinum so gen 4 music is pretty nostalgic for me. Also I love Zame’s work! I’ve been following their stuff for a few years now and it’s always super good quality. I also really like Braxton Burks on Spotify; he makes classical arrangements of Pokemon tracks.

Bro people keep on downplaying NMIXX I AM SICK OF THE SLANDER AND HATE ‼️‼️ they are literally saying they aren’t popular and to an extent it may be true but that was only during their debut era… ever since expergo came out they have been gaining traction… I am sad to see people hating my girls because they deserve so much.. and its so cool to see a group not coming from sm that actually have THEE VOCALS… someone was arguing to me about how aespa, kof, and billlie are more stunning vocally than NMIXX but I will die on that grave mentioning NMIXX being that group who raised the bar in terms of vocals bc nobody does it like they do.. I MEAN COME ON ?!? Who does an acapella on a music show AND sings live like you can look at all of the artists reaction when they hear their vocals loud and clear (see their dash music wins it was so satisfying to watch 😭😭😭) you can argue with me all you want but I would say NMIXX are the top vocalists of 4th gen.. like all members are talented.. all are aces… next in the vocal hierarchy would probably be aespa but thats just me… anyways love Taejiu ❤
the second you started talking about pokemon i got a hbmomberguy-esque whiplash and then things *perfectly* fell into place. like yea. holy shit. it does sound like a pokemon ost holy fuck ive never heard someone be *more* right
Thank you a lot for this good review! A small note is it was 2NE1, not Black Pink, shocked the entire K-pop scene by introducing the girl crush concept. Black Pink's huge successes are all built on 2NE1's legacy. :) Anyhow, it was Tank who made me listen to K-pop again after 2NE1's retirement, which was forced by YG in order to launch Black Pink. Yes, Tank is a masterpiece and one of my most favorite K-pop songs. I really hope the time will come when Tank, O.O, and Dice are properly appreciated.

you can be bland, you can succeed doing what everyone else is doing, or you can be bold and brave and launch o.o
I’m so excited to watch this!
I've always been a tank defender. Also, I love this channel because what other kpop video is gonna reference video games and Dragon Ball Z. Good work man.
I still think that Tank deserves an MV
Comparing tank to a Pokémon ost made me realise why I love tank so much
That is such a sweet reason to love a song 😭😭 robbie you are so cool man this video rocks
Not related to TANK, but I love the changes you are making to your videos, can't wait to see more!
Vid hasnt dropped yet and i already know im gonna love it. Tank was so insanely good!
19:16 I SCREAMED
and Empoleon is like in my top 5 pokemon of all time btw
Amazing 40min love letter video essay for one song. IMO, it’s elevated by your tangents to your personal touchstones, rather than sticking with passion-less objectivism or appeals to high platonic ideals.

So glad to hear someone do a dive on Tank! Literally one of my favorite K-Pop releases of that year! I always wish they had pushed this one more because it’s so great~ Hopefully a lot more people discover this masterpiece 🤧
Yay, hi Robbie! So hyped for this one. Btw there are a bunch of Pokémon references in my episode this coming week. 😅
Im a huge Warriors fan so that clip on here brought back my ptsd from that night.
Ditto, LeWhined to the NBA to suspend Green in Game 5. Don't even get me going...........🤬
IT'S HERE
I've been waiting for this ever since i found the poll for this 🎉
Very good video! Your explanation for the science behind the song was enjoyable to listen to. Your perspective was creative and intuitive 🙌🏼
The interesting thing is I also didn`t really like O.O. for like a year but last year in 2023 i gave it another chance and it grow on me and ended being one of my most listened tracks of 2023 xD I really don`t know how that happend xD I guess sometimes things need time and so i think people sometimes need time to appreciate art :)
29:40 OMG THIS SONG GIVES ME NOSTALGIA AS WELL!! Finally asomeone mentioned this aspect of it
Bro people keep on downplaying NMIXX I AM SICK OF THE SLANDER AND HATE ‼️‼️ they are literally saying they aren’t popular and to an extent it may be true but that was only during their debut era… ever since expergo came out they have been gaining traction… I am sad to see people hating my girls because they deserve so much.. and its so cool to see a group not coming from sm that actually have THEE VOCALS… someone was arguing to me about how aespa, kof, and billlie are more stunning vocally than NMIXX but I will die on that grave mentioning NMIXX being that group who raised the bar in terms of vocals bc nobody does it like they do..
The care, insight, detail and passion in this video is exceptional. I love it!
Im only 7:30 minutes in. I fucking love nmixx so much i love hearing people talk about them. Thank you for making this video
Was not expecting the Luigi's death stare
ahh yes, the first group i've stanned since debut and was hated for it. i cannot STRESS HOW MUCH o.o was hated.
o.o is the gratest song of all times
the second you started talking about pokemon i got a hbmomberguy-esque whiplash and then things *perfectly* fell into place. like yea. holy shit. it does sound like a pokemon ost holy fuck ive never heard someone be *more* right
Thank you a lot for this good review! I really hope the time will come when Tank, O.O, and Dice are properly appreciated.
o.o is wild, and i like it^^
such an awesome video! also omg that Dreamcatcher shelf IS glorious!
TANK was an extraordinary song, i do felt the power up given by the song, even thought i don't turn into saiyan😂
the song is very catchy and i love the ad lib so much that lily voice behind freaky fresh fresh sounds heavenly
o.o is the only song i have on repeat from nmixx. im not familiar with other songs that i could put them on repeat
I might be the only person that got O.O and Tank first listen
oh i know you're stoked for the IVE Pokémon OST
I find it so weird that I haven't realized it's also the reason why I love Tank as much as I do, another amazing video!
It's crazy how I used to despite O.O, but then somehow started to fall in love with it HARD. O.O and TANK were both songs that were ahead of their time.
I love how you mix in the love of BBall with Kpop. Reason why I subbed 😀
we all hated o.o during debut days but its a bop now, the cringe lyrics to the abrupt switch up is energy boosting like yesss
Can you make a video about Dice? It's so hated and I dont understand why. The song is so fun and colorful and I love the voice of everyone in that song!!
The 2022 hate was crazy.
O.o. wasn't even that bad. It was definitely different, but not bad.
I've been waiting for this video for so long omg I'm seated
Tank is literally one of my fav song aside from guns and roses. Lilys melodic adlibs sooth my ears so much!
I would've never thought that I'd be feeling so happy after listening to a nice melancholic feeling this great song gives to the author of this video. I loved NMIXX's debut, and Tank was the cherry on top for me. You revived my love for Tank, thank you!
Wow I never thought about tank sounding like Pokémon but you’re so right. Huge Pokémon fan and tank is my number 2 NMIXX song, just behind rollercoaster
I love O.O so much, always did idk why sue me
