I know I'll be the odd one out with my stance on Savage, I just don't think it has good mixing and they aren't all that "savage" in the MV besides holding some fake guns, concept really isn't executed at the level it should've been. However I do very much understand why people enjoy it and still enjoy it from time to time.
The irony of Winter's hair is that we're so used to her black bob, so seeing her in red is that much more dramatic, since it contradicts our expectations
Drama being #1 is so real. its seriously their BEST comeback. its executed as close to perfection as you can get, the styling, the MV, the stages. They look FANTASTIC.
Yeah Winter has improved so much. Honestly Winter’s stage presence has always been good despite what haters said, but whenever they actually sing live Winter glows.
@@vixxexo6855in 2020-2022 winters stage presence was weak imo, it didn't look like she put effort into her dancing nor live singing. but she's improved regardless, on the spicy stages she was hitting high notes live and smiling.
I think Spicy gives hot weather vibes so it fits June and July very well. I would consider it as a summer comeback. Better things is a little bit cooler in tone, so releasing it in mid August makes sense to me
aespa is my ult group so here goes: 1. Savage (the pre-chorus and the bridge are heavenly. The concept and the attitude in this song and the mv is everything to me) 2. Black Mamba (honestly can't choose which one is first between this and Savage. This is the cleanest song they have. Just so perfect through and through) 3. Spicy (I LIVE for the Mean Girls esq, y2k concept. I think the song goes hard) 4. Next Level (It's ICONIC. I love the experimentation) 5. Drama (Surprisingly I didn't love this one on the first listen, but It's growing on me more and more. I love the MV visuals and the choreo. The 'drama' in the song is everything) 6. Girls (My favorite aespa dancebreak hands down, even if the choreo is a bit lame otherwise. It's a total bop, though a bit forgettable) 7. Dreams Come True (The fact that there's a finnish version of this song (I'm finnish) just makes me love it so much. I also love the little "90's-isms." It's giving planet of the bass lol) 8. Better Things (It's a bop, but doesn't really stand out in any way) 9. Life's Too Short (Same as Better Things, but not as good as a song) 10. Forever (the only aespa song I think I actually dislike. It just doesn't hit in any way)
The "red velvet table" with the backup dancers is actually a reference of Bejart's choreography for Ravel's Bolero! This detail was the key thing which made me fall in love with this new comeback and I'm not even an aespa stan
@@unknownuser7542 it was definitely a reference! Bejart's Bolero is quite old. I don't think the dance itself had any influences on Drama's choreo (except the spinning men near the velvet table in the background), but visually it truly was. It's quite iconic and if you saw any of the Bolero performances, the inspiration is clear as day! I personally love Sylvie Guillem's version of Bolero. It was truly one of the most memorable ballet performances I've ever seen. And fun fact, if you were to look up her performance of Bolero in 2016 (her most popular online), it was actually her last ever ballet performance that she danced being 52 years old!! ;))
@@iitsukami thats so cool, thank you for explaining it to me! do you think they chose it because it fits the drama theme? I love it when kpop companies get so creative
I now like Drama. I was a bit unsure how to feel, but this song just works for me now. That chorus is still stuck in my head. I agree about Forever being filler to show off the vocals of AESPA until their comeback, Next Level. It's like what Red Velvet did with Be Natural before their next comeback Ice Cream Cake, but for Red Velvet it was to show off their versatility and show people their Velvet Concept.
spicy is my favorite comeback/era and dreams come true is my favorite title track/mv. the vibes of spicy are just so fun. it gave little mix black magic mixed with clueless. it was the soundtrack to my summer. i have a personal bias towards it bc of when it was released but i also think objectively it's a fantastic song idk. + the color palette, the styling.. the project is so good as well like THIRSTY are u kidding? i was never the biggest fan of aespa's music because i needed something a little more for lack of a better word "normal sounding". i needed spicy to bring me in and make me find a new appreciation for aespa. now they are my ult gg and i can't get enough of all their songs lol dreams come true being my fav song overall is probably down to personal attachment as well. my friend was obssesed with it so i got hooked as well. it's just so dreamy and magical both in look and sound. the robot voice was not jarring to me at all for some reason even tho i totally get why it should be. ugh i just love aespa man 🖤
I liked Spicy when it came out but now I love it, it grew on me over the summer like crazy. I also love Dreams Come True & I totally agree with the ‘normal sounding songs’ part because while I can appreciate songs like Savage or Drama, they are not something I can enjoy on repeat like I do with other songs. I see them as musical experiences that I enjoy a few times and that’s it, they are too ‘experimental’ and ‘busy’ for normal listening. It has nothing to do with the songs, it’s just personal preference & what I can normally digest musically. Songs like Spicy, Dreams Come True, Illusion or even Next Level I can play them on repeat and just get lost in them. I like Aespa as a group, I think they are my second fav gg in 4th gen, I hope this comeback does well for them.
SAMEEEE spicy was my summer soundtrack too😭😭😭😭Aespa really catch my attention after spicy era… i m also a huge fan of dreams come true 😭😭😭😭 helppp and welcome to my world😭😭it s also very dreamy and magical i rll love it…..
I think spicy was made to show the girl's friendship before they had the kwangya issue, showing how they were young girls who were very close and were very happy with some of kwangya elements co-existing in their real lives however everything went wrong
For Spicy lore-wise, rather than being brought back to the real world I interpreted the M/V as the "world" they're in is actually an illusion of the Black Mamba which is why you see the glitching and lack of people which is why there's no one to interact with and frozen people in the party scenes. Spicy gave off the vibe of a celebratory after supposedly defeating BM in Girls but even with Girls it felt more like a mini boss battle/trap rather than a final battle. I think its also why they're back into a darker vibe with Drama but this is all merely my interpretation. I was mildly surprised by the Savage ranking because of how many MYs have said it was the comeback that solidified their identity, but I agree with where you've placed (or to be pedantic I'd have it tied with Girls). Overall, I fully agree with your rankings and Drama was so good I'm excited to see what more they put out if they'll keep improving at the rate they are at now.
I think Savage was mixed that way because it's supposed to mimic being in a spaceship. Like the whole metal banging after sound serves as a 3D effect on being inside a transport because they're going to slay the Black Mamba. Mera did a really good analysis on Aespa's music, and how it's structured that way, you should check it out!
Im glad you had drama at #1 because it really is a great comback, also id like to see a ranking video like this with red velvet in the future, that would be cool.
I remember the first time I listened to and watched Black Mamba MV. I was SO stunned, I said to myself "I'm definitely stanning this group". Drama had the same effect on me, I was like "oh, so THIS is why I like them"
WHEN I HEARD DRAMA I THOUGHT IT NEEDS TO GROW UNTIL THE DRAMA MA MA MA DROPS AND THE BRIDGE ...THIS IS OVERALL ONE OF THE BEST SONGS IN KPOP EVER ...HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I had a truly magical experience the first time I heard Forever. Driving in the darkness through a snowstorm, with Forever on the speakers... I've loved it ever since. But other than that, Drama is just THAT comeback.
smtg about aespa just stands out i rly think they're the best 4th gen girl grp... its kind of sad that the competition is so full of palatable songs from other big names that they are now kinda struggling to pull the same numbers they did with next level, but i still do think they are the main showcasers for what 4th gen is capable of in a way that distincts themselves from the 3rd gen and other 4th gen grps and at the same time literally execute concepts to the next level.
I used to hate how many of their songs are remakes/samples but i've grown to understand how common it is in the industry and aespa pulls them off very well. Forever being their second song ever and being a remake pissed me off so bad especially when it's followed up BY ANOTHER REMAKE/SAMPLE like be more creative sm but the originals are almost always unlistenable to me so... i get it sm i guess
SM has some of the least creative and original music producers in all kpop.. even the song Pink Venom from Blackpink was made from lots of sampling made it huge because Teddy the producer still added creativity to the song. The only most positive thing I can say about this drama comeback is the fashion style... the way SM styled the aespa girls in Better Things I'd rather not say what they look like and it doesn't fit the aespa vision at all..
Im the only one apparently who likes girls, my second if not my top title track by them. And unpopular opinion but savage was not it for me. The last chorus was overwhelming to say the least but if we take the mini album in consideration it was one if not the best one they have. Also i agree with drama being the best comeback. At last i wouldn't count black mamba cause its the debut and not a comeback but of course that's my opinion. Great video as always ❤
I think earlier I would've agreed on Life's Too Short and Better Things not being the right songs for aespa to break more into the English market with, but Perfect Night's success has really changed how I looked at things. The stripped back sound can work really well. Promotion does seem to matter for getting these English releases to reach people though. But also sometimes it's just down to random chance, so it'll be interesting to keep looking at English releases.
i feel like the only one who loves dreams come true. YES its cringe but I will be singing “you make it feel me good, do you wanna upside down” every single time. the vocals are some of the best out of all of their songs, its almost like an upbeat version of a ballad. yes the rap is jarring to the rest of the song but its only about 8 seconds max and its followed by some of the most angelic high notes from ning and winter. BOA produced the song too like it was perfect and when I think of aespa’s image/styling that song is what i think of. aespa is this purple futuristic fairy vibe with lots of pastels and crystals but also egirl 90s grunge with lots of low colors too. the music video is imo perfect to show new fans of aespa, its like a recap of all of their other music videos and styling into one. theres a reason dct stays in my top 5 on spotify
I definitely see where your coming from for all of these. I definitely would place Savage near the top though. Each section of the song is very distinct and intentional. Those chords on the verse/rap sections are dramatic and eerie in the best way. The echo of the high pitched synth in the pre chorus that sounds like a choir of singers raises the tension beautifully. The very bare chorus with the mixture of gear/machine/mechanical sounds subverts your expectations by rejecting the direction of that prechorus. Angelic bridge again rejected by the mechanical dance break stuns me. And all of it finishing off with Ning Ning and Winter’s vocals put a big old smile on my face every time I hear it.
@@redeubelbet.kingdom5212 hey just checked out your ranking of bp solos vid! So well articulated and presented! Also finally somebody who didn't place otg at the very bottom hehe. Would luv to see more :)
while i don’t love drama (it felt a little blander than what i was expecting) and savage remains their best title after spicy, it grew a lot on me esp bc the instrumental is easy to listen to yet one of their best and the girls have been performing better than ever and they did get better mv, stages, styling etc. i hope ae1 will be their best project yet with genres like jungle, hyperpop, d&b, r&b, rock, citypop etc.
I can’t even begin to rank their discography but I will say I’ve been flipping between liking Spicy or Drama as their best comeback this year. Spicy gets me dancing & they just really served on Drama so it’s hard to choose
You are such an in depth analyser and the way that you explain your reasoning with like ur mature tone and like the way that u actually tell us how u feel is very pleasing.
As songs ( not comebacks) i would rank: 1. Black Mamba 2. Next Level 3. Better things 4. Dreams come true 5. Drama 6. Savage 7. Girls 8. Spicy 9. Life's too short 10. Forever
My ranking! 1. Savage 2. Spicy 3. Drama 4. Next Level 5. Better Things 6. Dreams Come True 7. Black Mamba 8. Girls 9. Life’s Too Short 10. Forever I didn’t realize Savage was such a popular number 1 haha. Might be one of my favorite comebacks in all of kpop.
I didn't like drama at first. Now I like it a bit more, but I LOVE the instrumental. I have repeated the instrumental sooo much these few days. The MV is pretty good too, but my favourite is still Black Mamba MV
Since you said you read all your comments, here is my ranking with a short explanation why: 1. Next Level (it's the song I got to know them with, I listened to it on a daily basis until they dropped their mini album, I love it very much I really can't complain it's just my style of a powerful song) 2. Life's too short (may come as a surprise, but I really like the message and instrumental, it's smooth and soothening and it worked as an anthem for my everyday life when struggeling) 3. Savage/ Spicy (I really tried deciding but those too are really tied. I loved Savage more when it came out, but it's golden times are over while Spicy is a grower and made me fall in love with Giselle cause she a 10/10 honestly) 5. Drama (It may rank up and get to place 3, but for now it'll stay here, I like it a lot, it just depends on my mood if I wanna listen to it. It doesn't feel like I could vibe with it whenever I hear it. Otherwise it really slays aswell) 6. Dreams come true (I wanna rank this higher because whenever I listen to it I'm bopping until my headphones fall out but it's kinda crowded up there so idk) 7. Girls (I was hyped when it came out but, just as you said, there's nothing I wanna come back to now) 8. Black Mamba (I like it but it's a skip most of the times lol) 9. Better Things (I think it's fine, I just can't get myself to vibing with it...) 10. Forever ( it's okay.. i guess? I never listen to it so yea)
Im ranking every song that got a mv so my ranking would be like this: 11. Forever 10. Lifes too short eng. ver 9. Dreams Come True 8. Better Things 7. Drama 6. Black Mamba 5. Next Level 4. Spicy 3. Girls 2. Savage 1. Welcome to my World 3-6 are very interchangeable and it depends when you ask me abt my ranking
my ranking just based on personal song/music preference: 1. Drama (winter's you know im savage pt in the last chorus😩) 2. Spicy (the instrumental is grungy and i just personally love it) 3. Better Things (song is just my style, love the layers, whispery vocals, and, vocals in the bridge sm) 4. Dreams Come True (sue me for having it this high up but i had a weird phase w this song so.. this is its own thing) for 5-7 any could be switched around, i love them all (as someone said in the comments, the holy trinity, aespa-core) 5. Savage (iconic, my naevis we love you) 6. Black Mamba (slayed but i don't relisten to this often) 7. Next Level (also iconic but i love savage more) 8-10.. let's just say i i heard them once and no more. 8. Girls (felt flat for some reason and the repetitive dance in the chorus def didn't help😔, prefer illusion) 9. Life's too Short (eh, very basic) 10. Forever (repetitive and meh) also if anyone sees this as a fellow MY i NEED yall to see the yt vid where someone made a aespa AI cover for "Gods" by NewJeans bc i genuinely feel like aespa would've been the perfect group for it
Girls is #1 and will always be and I don't really care when it comes to the song itself. the live Synk Hyperline version is unmatched in energy. drama definitely second place for sure though
Pretty sure Better things was dropped when it did because that's when they're tour in the US was. I was at the first stop in LA and they premiered the song at that show.
i was about to jump into the comment when i saw Savage's ranking, but tbh I agreed! what did it for me is the bsides and the teaser images those are top tier fr. i dont replay Savage at all and skip it when I play the album omg i feel so bad for saying this. its a traditional for SM girl group for having edgy experimental songs, which they works so well and end up get me to stan the group (RV's Zimzalabim/RBB, SNSD's IGAB, f(x)'s Red light) while I struggle to love the song itself it's a very effective strategy of SM to win over ppl like me, it feels like the group is telling me that they can even do this! it gets me hyped up and cant wait for more.
i surprisingly agreed to your ranking and i respect that but for my own rankings, i think it will always be temporary. drama and spicy will be always on my top 1 or 2 but this time, drama outshined spicy. im so happy and thankful for aespa. sooo proud of them.
1. next level (could easily be compared to the impact of the rennaissance album) 2. spicy (i was obsessed y'all, very great redemption arc) 3. savage (absolute banger, and their best mini too) 4. drama (this comeback is the only interest i have in the industry rn) 5. dreams come true (it is very groovy and catchy, but it has some flaws) 6. girls (it is so epic but as you said, low replayability) 7. black mamba (oh when it hits it HITS, but somehow it got old to me) 8. better things (i listened to it once so i feel like i should give it another try) 9. forever (it's not last because i actually enjoy it when it's christmas) 10. life's too short (meh)
1 Next Level, JUST BEST 2 Black Mamba, choreo 10/10, vocal 10/10 and specially the bridge. One of the Best Bridge in kpop history. 3 Dreams Come True, Better than all the songs below production wise. 4 Life's Too Short, Easy listen, Good Message, Nice way to slap haters. 5 Savage, Its just Savage. It contains their best rap sections and the way both main vocalists go crazy in last chorus 6 Better Things, Easy Listen, Vibey, Catchy 7 Girls, Don't get why it got hate that much, loved the rap sections and chorus. Dance break was cool and ofc Winter are it up. 8 Drama, Liked the vibe, it's just its verses are forgettable and instrumental in chorus seems to ruin the melody. 9 Spicy, Um they went from Girls to Spicy. Like they literally downgraded their discography. Literally all the b sides were better than title track. It was giving Kidz bop in first listens. 10 Forever, Deserves to be above in the list just very forgettable. Chorus is the only part that I remember.
Drama is definitely their best tt the styling the song, the choreo, the video, my only negative point is that Giselle is less present in this comeback, ma favorite set of look it's definitely le black and res look (execpt the rad part of Giselle out fit) i mostly like alla aespa title track, forever is too boring for me only the vocal save the song, and for next level i rather the RnB part i like their english song but i get what you mean, their 1rst full Album will be fully in english i just hope that they will show actual kpop songs but in english
I agree with top three I’m so sad I didn’t know any of these songs excised when they came out, also Next Level will always be THAT SONG so as the drop choreography in Black Mamba
I see the reasons for all of ur points, but i can't accept new level at number 3 haha It's like ... the best of the best ! the reason aespa is so big, the reason this group is so amazing ! love ur video btw !
I have so many notes: 1. I think it's good to note that Life's Too Short was dropped during a time when they were constantly being hated on and "scandal" after "scandal" was coming out about them. I remember this being such an important song at the time because they were basically saying "We've seen the ridiculous hate and we don't care. Go touch grass." 2. Mid to late August is still 30+ degrees in Asia. In Japan August is PEAK summer heat, and I assume Korea is the same. 3. Again, it's good to note Spicy was dropped instead of Drama (which the girls have had since last year!) because SM decided to scrap their first full album AE1 (thanks LSM, Kakao and Hybe) which was supposed to drop in February so SM scrambled for a summer hit first instead. 4. Giselle's blonde hair in Black Mamba is NOT a wig. It's a shot from when they filmed Black Mamba the first time around. We don't have full details about it but we do know they filmed Black Mamba then something happened (rumoured a member got cut out at the last minute), their debut got delayed and then they had to refilm Black Mamba, which is why there are different hair colours for 2-3 of them in the MV. My ranking Least to Best: Forever, Better Things, Girls (everyone hates the choreo for this one), Dream's Come True (if the English lyrics were a bit better, it'd be way higher for me), Life's Too Short, Spicy, Drama, Black Mamba, Next Level, Savage, Illusion (she's my queen). 45:55 This is very clearly a Sin City inspired aesthetic.
Savage was my favorite song of Aespa for the longest time. I was OBSESSED when it first came out. I would listen daily. Do the dance. Listen again. For months. Now I can’t even listen to it because imo I played it out so much. And over the course of years it has low reliability. It’s one of those songs that were epic within the first 6 months of its release, but doesn’t stand the test of time.
1. Illusion 💜 (WE NEED MORE OF THIS, i cant stop listening it. Everyone seems to enjoy this song. The futuristic vibes, that robotic sounding voice, the stage performances everything is 10/10) 2. Drama 🩸(its surprisingly good, great bridge, breathtaking visuals but it seems there’s no link with AE’s and giselle deserved more lines…) 3. Savage 🕹️ (interesting instrumental love how it sounds like a game, has best aespa raps and bridge ever imo) 4.. Spicy 🌶️ / Thirsty 💦 (so fun i listen to it super loudly, in love w giselle part, the outfits r perfect //thirsty has rnb vibes which im a fan of) 5. Better things 🐠 (chill summer song, beautiful MV and outfits) 6. Next Level 🏙️ (I enjoy the “Lalala” and beatdrop parts) 7. Black Mamba 🐍(loved their debut but their newest songs are just better. It’s not a song you casually listen to. It’s an experience) 8. Dreams come true 🧚♀️ (I like how they let Giselle use her vocals and the bridge part is amazing but thats it) // Girls 🗡️ (i really enjoy Ningning and Winter parts and the MV reminds me of a red version of Kick it by NCT127 but thats abt it…) 9. Life’s too short 🎀 (its alright not much to say) 10. Forever ❄️ (was so disappointed to hear that after being overwhelmed by black mamba. Ik its a ballad but it’s just not my type. It made me unstan them for a while) Special mention ✨ to Ningning’s Solo wake up, I keep listening to it it’s really addictive even learned the choreography. I hope SM uses more of that pop/trap genre for AEspa new releases and b sides. And Also mention to Hold on Tight, I didnt like it at first but it sounds so AESPA-ish, it’s futuristic and also nostalgic
My ranking would be 1. Drama- hands down their best comeback 2.girls 3.savage 4.black mamba 5.spicy 6.next level 7.lifes too short 8.better things 9.dreams come true 10.forever
THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT THE LYRICS ON DREAMS COME TRUE EUIWHREUGUEWGIOREWHG OMG I THOUGHT I WAS GOING EITHER DUMB OR CRAZY BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS HEARING THINGSSSSSSSSS
Really loved this video and the amount of work you put in!! I really enjoy their discography, even when I listen to songs I like less. Aespa is that group where I can never for the life of me choose a favorite singer/member. Literally all of them are such great singers and have a different voice 😅🎉 When it comes to styling in general, I think Winter really has had the best styles overall - her hair length and colors, the clothes. I love her in a ponytail (SO UNDERRATED), i love her short bob, i love her as a blond, i love her red Drama hair, i love her grey-stripped long hair in Next Level 🫨 Oh and, about Black Mamba... I never understood why it wasnt received too well when it came out. I was totally absorbed by the music video and music??? The song I like the least from Aespa is Savage, I just hate the "gimme gimme now" part even though Winter's voice is amazing. That also reminds me that Drama is probably my favorite song of theirs BUT i feel like Winter's "...Yeah" was unnecessary and I don't like hearing it. Thankfully it only lasts a second. It's weird but I feel like they like to make her strain her voice on one high note in most songs I can think of...?
Aespa is a group that either heavily hits or misses for me,here is my ranking: 1. Savage - I love this song. the whole vocal parts are amazing and the melody, sound switches and all go so well together. their EP is still their best with songs like Iconic, Yeppi Yepp, aenergy. 2. - Drama - also a song I absolutely love. Like Savage I really love the whole of it.. The EP is their second best and has some good bsides. 3. - Next Level - it is a grest song. Fun, with good mixing and vocals. 4. - Black Mamba - a great debut song. I like it and the AI concept saga they started with their debut. 5. Dreams come true - it is a very good song and for me a better way to try a concept/sound change song. 6. Girls - tbh I had the same experience. At first I thought this was their best song but.... the more time passed the song felt more and more dragged. It is not because of the song length - I like love savage, next level, drama that are long for kpop standarts and even longer songs in jpop ....but...there is something that lets it age badly? Illusion on the other hand is one of their best songs. 7./ 8./9. Better things / Lifes too short /Forever - look, SM has one of the best vocal groups in kpop, and they still manage to make theiir calm songs boring? Usually ballads/ calm songs with great vocalists can hit cause they know how to sing emotional or hook you with their voice. But there is nothing standing out in these songs. It is not a critique on aespas vocals but on the production of these songs. Girls really know how to use their voices- even in the song at 10th spot. And SM keeps misproducing songs specifically made for vocals showcase. 10. Spicy - The song just isn´t for me but I can see others liking it. Welcome to my world suffers the same problem better things, forever etc have. Normally I don´t mind in concept/sound changes of groups. But for me SM just keeps not delivering at the other stuff they give to aespa... when they literally have illusion, dreams come true and some bsides like Yeppi Yeppi, YOLO, Iconic, Dont blink that show there is potential for a good sound/concept change.
I think I'm the only one here who likes Life's Too Short and Better Things 😭 All I've heard from Aespa when I heard Life's Too Short was that their music was... intense to say the least It was a breath of fresh air where I can just vibe listening to it, was an instant add to my studying playlist Better Things had my ass shaking with "THAT verse" you know the one KNOW M- It was unusually cunty 😭😭 I can't believe summer cuntiness is a thing
This might be a weird take but the fact that aespa’s music is experimental and unconventional is actually what drew me to them. I understand why so many people love black mamba and I really love it don’t get me wrong but idk to me it’s kind of just girl crush with an aespa twist. Which is fine but I really prefer they’re songs that are a lot more unconventional. I’m a Girls fanatic I genuinely don’t get why people hated it it’s my favourite Title Track by them 😭. Girls was great I think the bridge is amazing lol
I completly agree with life's too short, honestly the strategy of the completly english song to catch in a new fanbase is a good idea but if the song is completely different from the rest of your Titel Tracks, I don't See how that makes sense. If you really like this song and then Check Out the group for more music like that and there aren't a Lot of them Like that in their entire discography, why Stan the group A english song in your core sound would be smarter
Revisiting this and thinking how cool it would have been to have supernova be aespa’s English debut! It’s super consistent with aespa’s main appeals (the sci-fi sound!!!), but a little more chill to reach people who aren’t used to how extra kpop can be?
drama with the kill bill aesthetics, probably one of my fave aespa mv. first listen i was mixed, but the more i listen the more i like it. for suggestions: mamamoo - know it will be quite a lot, but i really like their discography purple kiss - also love their discography ive - they definitely had some strong ones stayc - also like their discography itzy - also enjoyed their discography
Here in (the south of) England, the height of summer is around July-August. It gets really hot in september aswell, so i think for me, better things dropped at a perfect time.
My Ranking 1. Savage 2. Black Mamba 3. Girls and Drama are in the same boat. ( It is okay just not sure) 4 All the others are in this boat. ( Did not like and was not interested in one bit ) - I do not count * Dreams Come True since I consider it a cover. But really loved their cover of it.
Honestly I'm not sure if we ever got to the real world like we had welcome to my world instead of real then in spicy there were that weird phenomenon and glitches. Karina spoiled they are fighting doppelgangers in Drama and when you look at the lyrics they first say it's a new world then my world then in the bridge is into the real world so it seems they couldn't reach this real world not they are in. My guess is that they were trying to come back home but got to some alternative world instead anyway apparently there will be smcu next year before next Korean comeback so everything will be cleared.
Drama is the peak of aespa because it is not a random event, they have worked hard for the last 12 (or more) months to prepare it and I think SM has also worked hard and has specific plans for the group, this year the girls start to have their own Instagram account, do mini series, start doing live concerts (and have a stable team of back dancers, crucial for Drama MV and performances), 2023 was a big step forward for aespa. I think now only Blackpink and Itzy can do something like Drama right now, you need a really high level of confidence, experience and stage presence, no one else has all these things. I'm curious to see what they do in 2024, because I think it's just the beginning.
Drama is good but it feels like they are starting to drop their lore coz this cb is quite messy and not cohesive. I am invested in their lore so seeing them slowly dropping it makes me sad. Savage is still my favorite era since it's the era that stayed true to their lore and I feel like it showcased their unique musical color more. I appreciate drama for showing a new side of the grp but It feels like it's not them especially the song. Tho they are so pretty and badass and ofc the bridge is immaculate. Anyway, this is just my opinion.
"it feels like they are starting to drop their lore" they're really not. It's just SM that's messed up their lore timeline because of everything that happened at the beginning of this year.
Best in my opinion: 1) My World 2) Drama 3) Black Mamba 4) Savage 5) Dreams Come True 6) Girls 7) Life's Too Short (English Vers.) 8) Better Things 9) Next Level 10) Forever
aespa tt ranked by someone who loves all their tts 1. black mamba (best kpop debut wbk) 2. drama (every single thing about this cb has me dying, the instrumental and the bridge are blessed, whoever produced this song deserves a good fuck) 3. girls (its GOOD yall, it does hit, we love you girls, just disliked the album) 4. savage (yk aespa one of the few groups who can make experimental music) 5. spicy (i could fry on oil with this song, its just so good) 6. next level (the mother) 7. better things (the only aespa song i dislike, mid)
Well here's my personal ranking ( I don't particularly watch MVs too much, I usually listen on spotify so I lreally like songs with good vocals) 1. Drama: Pretty much agree with everything you said about drama except the color palette. I love how small the sample size is, with only reds, blacks, browns and grays. Like in the " IM THE DRAMA " member teasers, especially for winter and karina, it feels much darker than their other songs, so the more monotone colours fit the MV much more than their usual popping themes. I think the main reason I love it more than the other title tracks are cuz it's aespa's vocally most challenging songs. I'm able to mostly sing aespa songs pretty fine, but drama is much, much harder to even attempt singing it ( I love songs that are tough to sing, like the Bambi album tracks by Baekhyun) 2.Savage: I don't really like how the sets look like actual sets rather than backgrounds, but I LOVE the vocals, especially the final high notes from ningning and winter. I still think the rapping is aespa's best out of their title tracks, it really suits giselle. The pre chorus and drop into the chorus are the cherry on top 3. Black Mamba: The entirety of the song doesn't feel choppy in the slightest, it feels smooth af all the way through and I love that about BM. Best part is for sure the bridge with ninging and winter 4. Girls : This was probably one of my least favourite songs when I first listened to it. The chorus didn't feel like a chorus to me, compared to savage, but karina's vocals more than made up for whatever was lacking, easily my favourite parts of the song 5. Next Level: I don't really like more talky songs than more vocal songs, so it probably would've been ranked higher, but ningning and winter's parts in the 'watch me while I work it' section were godly 6.Better Things: I prefer more songs like the above 5 than summery songs, but vocalssssssssss 7. Life's too Short: Usually find songs like these reaaally boring but Idky, just vibed with the song 8. Spicy: I just found the song too be a little too boring for a title track, especially after the masterpiece that was Welcome to MY World( love songs like this). Loved the chorus though, especially the karina version 9. Dreams come True: I found the song to be alright, just not really my type of song 10. Forever: Didn't like that the chorus was just the word Forever on repeat forever, with the same repeated hand movement, and expected more as a ballad
already know it’s wrong if next level is not 1st and black mamba/savage is not in either 2nd or 3rd place. 2020-2021 was aespa’s best era and they have yet to ever beat it.
Best title track is drama. The mv, music and styling is so aespa (i would give some mentions to savage for a mpre AI feel). Best album is either savage era or spicy era. Both are iconic, both have great b sides. But imo drama rn is just the best era overall. The stages ,besides giselle getting a few lines and center time, its good
the grey shading to me is them demonstrating that this is a drama ,a movie especially with the “subtitles” when they switch to that said grey shading yk?? also for the lore i think they’re on their way to the flat aka kwangya but their obstacle this time is karina getting possessed by black mamba or smth so they’re not quite ready to go back yet or unsure of how to do so those r just my thoughts:3
I have never agreed more with anyone on the girl soft crush concepts of aespa. I don't particularly care for them and I love the noise tech music so much and I think that it's so unique to them.
For me it’s 1. Drama 2. Better things 3. Illusion even tho it’s a pre 4. Spicy 5. Savage 6. Next level 7. Black mamba 8. Dreams come true 9. Girls 10. Life’s too short 11. Forever
I know I'll be the odd one out with my stance on Savage, I just don't think it has good mixing and they aren't all that "savage" in the MV besides holding some fake guns, concept really isn't executed at the level it should've been. However I do very much understand why people enjoy it and still enjoy it from time to time.
I didn’t care for Savage and I’m not there yet with Drama (at least the song) but in general I love the trajectory that Aespa is on.
what
please be serious
I actually agree with you
aespa's 'Savage' :
The MV 💯
The track 💯
The Mini Album 💯
The irony of Winter's hair is that we're so used to her black bob, so seeing her in red is that much more dramatic, since it contradicts our expectations
"Two hour mega project for IZ*One"
That is the best sentence I've heard this week
Drama being #1 is so real. its seriously their BEST comeback. its executed as close to perfection as you can get, the styling, the MV, the stages. They look FANTASTIC.
The timing of it sucks they are. Not getting any awards….
@@karibills6243 Spicy is their nomination so no worries
@@karibills6243so truueee😢 but imma support them more😊
DON'T FORGET ALL THEM TEASERS
drama is just so boring not listenable at all. next level is definitely their best comeback.
I think Winter's stage presence GREATLY improved with Drama and I can't quite place why I feel that way XD
hello fellow insomnia-aespa fan ❤❤❤❤❤❤
@frantic.rexuri Hi 😀
Yeah Winter has improved so much. Honestly Winter’s stage presence has always been good despite what haters said, but whenever they actually sing live Winter glows.
@@vixxexo6855in 2020-2022 winters stage presence was weak imo, it didn't look like she put effort into her dancing nor live singing. but she's improved regardless, on the spicy stages she was hitting high notes live and smiling.
my theory is that LSM / Kwangya concept was that they were kinda cold and not as intense.
I think Spicy gives hot weather vibes so it fits June and July very well. I would consider it as a summer comeback. Better things is a little bit cooler in tone, so releasing it in mid August makes sense to me
aespa is my ult group so here goes:
1. Savage (the pre-chorus and the bridge are heavenly. The concept and the attitude in this song and the mv is everything to me)
2. Black Mamba (honestly can't choose which one is first between this and Savage. This is the cleanest song they have. Just so perfect through and through)
3. Spicy (I LIVE for the Mean Girls esq, y2k concept. I think the song goes hard)
4. Next Level (It's ICONIC. I love the experimentation)
5. Drama (Surprisingly I didn't love this one on the first listen, but It's growing on me more and more. I love the MV visuals and the choreo. The 'drama' in the song is everything)
6. Girls (My favorite aespa dancebreak hands down, even if the choreo is a bit lame otherwise. It's a total bop, though a bit forgettable)
7. Dreams Come True (The fact that there's a finnish version of this song (I'm finnish) just makes me love it so much. I also love the little "90's-isms." It's giving planet of the bass lol)
8. Better Things (It's a bop, but doesn't really stand out in any way)
9. Life's Too Short (Same as Better Things, but not as good as a song)
10. Forever (the only aespa song I think I actually dislike. It just doesn't hit in any way)
Thank you! I can’t believe he listed out Ult song Savage so LOW in video.
i 100% agree with this list
Arguably most accurate ranking or at least majority of mys
The "red velvet table" with the backup dancers is actually a reference of Bejart's choreography for Ravel's Bolero! This detail was the key thing which made me fall in love with this new comeback and I'm not even an aespa stan
I'm not familiar with the choreo, but does it have a connection to aespas drama or do you think it was simply a neat reference?
Omg Savage being so low is criminal that’s my favorite Aespa song and one of my all time favorite K-pop songs EVER
Glad someone else appreciates how winter says Next level as much as I do 😭
I now like Drama.
Black Mamba getting the praise it deserves, it's literally SO Aespa
spicy is my favorite comeback/era and dreams come true is my favorite title track/mv. the vibes of spicy are just so fun. it gave little mix black magic mixed with clueless. it was the soundtrack to my summer. i have a personal bias towards it bc of when it was released but i also think objectively it's a fantastic song idk.
SAMEEEE spicy was my summer soundtrack too😭😭😭😭Aespa really catch my attention after spicy era… i m also a huge fan of dreams come true 😭😭😭😭 helppp
and welcome to my world😭😭it s also very dreamy and magical i rll love it…..
I love aespa's music. I love their sound. They have an amazing concept. Their storyline or lore is intriguing. Their MVs are phenomenal.
I don’t usually rewatch MVs but Drama??? It has replayable value. It’s literally like a short film
smtg about aespa just stands out i rly think they're the best 4th gen girl grp... its kind of sad that the competition is so full of palatable songs from other big names that they are now kinda struggling to pull the same numbers they did with next level, but i still do think they are the main showcasers for what 4th gen is capable of in a way that distincts themselves from the 3rd gen and other 4th gen grps and at the same time literally execute concepts to the next level.
Girls is my #1 too, I like savage but Girls the most. If I can pick one song from aespa I'll listen to forever and delete every other song it's Girls.
Saaame I really dislike savage, it was just not it for me too :(
Girls imo is the best song they had along with Black Mamba
I think earlier I would've agreed on Life's Too Short and Better Things not being the right songs for aespa to break more into the English market with, but Perfect Night's success has really changed how I looked at things. The stripped back sound can work really well. Promotion does seem to matter for getting these English releases to reach people though.
But also sometimes it's just down to random chance, so it'll be interesting to keep looking at English releases.
Savage on top for me as far as aespa's discography is concerned! Be it the track in itself or the whole mini album (the bsides were chef's kiss)
i feel like the only one who loves dreams come true. BOA produced the song too like it was perfect and when I think of aespa’s image/styling that song is what i think of. aespa is this purple futuristic fairy vibe with lots of pastels and crystals but also egirl 90s grunge with lots of low colors too. the music video is imo perfect to show new fans of aespa, its like a recap of all of their other music videos and styling into one. theres a reason dct stays in my top 5 on spotify
dreams come true goes so hard. i DO wanna upside down
Dw people cringe at that but does not cringe at very auspicious, obvious sexual innuendo as well as I'm rich and that's all I will ever be lyrics
Drama being #1 well deserved! Thank you Taejiu
10/10 for the beautiful description😭❤
@@lilyx05 thank you so much (:
@@atchuuu lol I’ve been singing since I was 10, I have a video on Blackpink solos btw
@@redeubelbet.kingdom5212 hey just checked out your ranking of bp solos vid! So well articulated and presented! Also finally somebody who didn't place otg at the very bottom hehe. Would luv to see more :)
@@lilyx05 it means a lot that u enjoyed it (: I’ve got some things coming soon
while i don’t love drama (it felt a little blander than what i was expecting) and savage remains their best title after spicy, it grew a lot on me esp bc the instrumental is easy to listen to yet one of their best and the girls have been performing better than ever and they did get better mv, stages, styling etc. i hope ae1 will be their best project yet with genres like jungle, hyperpop, d&b, r&b, rock, citypop etc.
As songs ( not comebacks) i would rank:
1. Black Mamba
2. Next Level
3. Better things
4. Dreams come true
5. Drama
6. Savage
7. Girls
8. Spicy
9. Life's too short
10. Forever
aespa's MVs are top-notch. Their tracks are great. 🔥🔥🔥
My ranking!
1. Savage
2. Spicy
3. Drama
4. Next Level
5. Better Things
6. Dreams Come True
7. Black Mamba
8. Girls
9. Life’s Too Short
10. Forever
I didn’t realize Savage was such a popular number 1 haha. Might be one of my favorite comebacks in all of kpop.
I didn't like drama at first. Now I like it a bit more, but I LOVE the instrumental. I have repeated the instrumental sooo much these few days. The MV is pretty good too, but my favourite is still Black Mamba MV
Since you said you read all your comments, here is my ranking with a short explanation why:
1. Next Level (it's the song I got to know them with, I listened to it on a daily basis until they dropped their mini album, I love it very much I really can't complain it's just my style of a powerful song)
2. Life's too short (may come as a surprise, but I really like the message and instrumental, it's smooth and soothening and it worked as an anthem for my everyday life when struggeling)
3. Savage/ Spicy (I really tried deciding but those too are really tied. I loved Savage more when it came out, but it's golden times are over while Spicy is a grower and made me fall in love with Giselle cause she a 10/10 honestly)
5. Drama (It may rank up and get to place 3, but for now it'll stay here, I like it a lot, it just depends on my mood if I wanna listen to it. It doesn't feel like I could vibe with it whenever I hear it. Otherwise it really slays aswell)
6. Dreams come true (I wanna rank this higher because whenever I listen to it I'm bopping until my headphones fall out but it's kinda crowded up there so idk)
7. Girls (I was hyped when it came out but, just as you said, there's nothing I wanna come back to now)
8. Black Mamba (I like it but it's a skip most of the times lol)
9. Better Things (I think it's fine, I just can't get myself to vibing with it...)
10. Forever ( it's okay.. i guess? I never listen to it so yea)
And to think Drama was the song where they wanted the tree planting lyrics
Im ranking every song that got a mv so my ranking would be like this:
11. Forever
10. Lifes too short eng. ver
9. Dreams Come True
8. Better Things
7. Drama
6. Black Mamba
5. Next Level
4. Spicy
3. Girls
2. Savage
1. Welcome to my World
3-6 are very interchangeable and it depends when you ask me abt my ranking
All of them beside forever and lifes too short are on my plaslist too btw
my ranking just based on personal song/music preference:
1. Drama (winter's you know im savage pt in the last chorus😩)
2. Spicy (the instrumental is grungy and i just personally love it)
3. Better Things (song is just my style, love the layers, whispery vocals, and, vocals in the bridge sm)
4. Dreams Come True (sue me for having it this high up but i had a weird phase w this song so.. this is its own thing)
for 5-7 any could be switched around, i love them all (as someone said in the comments, the holy trinity, aespa-core)
5. Savage (iconic, my naevis we love you)
6. Black Mamba (slayed but i don't relisten to this often)
7. Next Level (also iconic but i love savage more)
8-10.. let's just say i i heard them once and no more.
8. Girls (felt flat for some reason and the repetitive dance in the chorus def didn't help😔, prefer illusion)
9. Life's too Short (eh, very basic)
10. Forever (repetitive and meh)
also if anyone sees this as a fellow MY i NEED yall to see the yt vid where someone made a aespa AI cover for "Gods" by NewJeans bc i genuinely feel like aespa would've been the perfect group for it
drama is literally the bop. the outfits, vocals, raps, mv…just augh perfect. its so aespa too
Nah GIRLS is thaat girl for me. I always go back to it. The pre-chorus/chorus and the bridge
Girls is #1 and will always be and I don't really care when it comes to the song itself. the live Synk Hyperline version is unmatched in energy. drama definitely second place for sure though
this guy is finding every reason to show his obsession with Winter and I love it
Pretty sure Better things was dropped when it did because that's when they're tour in the US was. I was at the first stop in LA and they premiered the song at that show.
aespa :
The MVs 💯💯
i was about to jump into the comment when i saw Savage's ranking, but tbh I agreed! what did it for me is the bsides and the teaser images those are top tier fr. i dont replay Savage at all and skip it when I play the album omg i feel so bad for saying this. its a traditional for SM girl group for having edgy experimental songs, which they works so well and end up get me to stan the group (RV's Zimzalabim/RBB, SNSD's IGAB, f(x)'s Red light) while I struggle to love the song itself it's a very effective strategy of SM to win over ppl like me, it feels like the group is telling me that they can even do this! it gets me hyped up and cant wait for more.
i surprisingly agreed to your ranking and i respect that but for my own rankings, i think it will always be temporary. drama and spicy will be always on my top 1 or 2 but this time, drama outshined spicy.
im so happy and thankful for aespa. sooo proud of them.
1. next level (could easily be compared to the impact of the rennaissance album)
2. spicy (i was obsessed y'all, very great redemption arc)
3. savage (absolute banger, and their best mini too)
4. drama (this comeback is the only interest i have in the industry rn)
5. dreams come true (it is very groovy and catchy, but it has some flaws)
6. girls (it is so epic but as you said, low replayability)
7. black mamba (oh when it hits it HITS, but somehow it got old to me)
8. better things (i listened to it once so i feel like i should give it another try)
9. forever (it's not last because i actually enjoy it when it's christmas)
10. life's too short (meh)
i couldn't enjoy better things back in august because it's freezing cold when i live but now that spring is settled... hell yes
1 Next Level, JUST BEST
2 Black Mamba, choreo 10/10, vocal 10/10 and specially the bridge. One of the Best Bridge in kpop history.
3 Dreams Come True, Better than all the songs below production wise.
4 Life's Too Short, Easy listen, Good Message, Nice way to slap haters.
5 Savage, Its just Savage. It contains their best rap sections and the way both main vocalists go crazy in last chorus
6 Better Things, Easy Listen, Vibey, Catchy
7 Girls, Don't get why it got hate that much, loved the rap sections and chorus.
Chorus is the only part that I remember.
drama really shook me and made me love aespa much more when i thought their songs were okayish. they outdid themselves
justice for savage. the girls that gets it gets it
fr!!! you’re not gonna get it in the first listen but it really grows on you over time
Drama is definitely their best tt the styling the song, the choreo, the video, my only negative point is that Giselle is less present in this comeback, ma favorite set of look it's definitely le black and res look (execpt the rad part of Giselle out fit)
i mostly like alla aespa title track, forever is too boring for me only the vocal save the song, and for next level i rather the RnB part
i like their english song but i get what you mean, their 1rst full Album will be fully in english i just hope that they will show actual kpop songs but in english
I have so many notes:
1. I think it's good to note that Life's Too Short was dropped during a time when they were constantly being hated on and "scandal" after "scandal" was coming out about them. I remember this being such an important song at the time because they were basically saying "We've seen the ridiculous hate and we don't care. Go touch grass."
The futuristic vibes, that robotic sounding voice, the stage performances everything is 10/10)
2. Drama 🩸(its surprisingly good, great bridge, breathtaking visuals but it seems there’s no link with AE’s and giselle deserved more lines…)
3. Savage 🕹️ (interesting instrumental love how it sounds like a game, has best aespa raps and bridge ever imo)
4.. Spicy 🌶️ / Thirsty 💦 (so fun i listen to it super loudly, in love w giselle part, the outfits r perfect //thirsty has rnb vibes which im a fan of)
5. Better things 🐠 (chill summer song, beautiful MV and outfits)
6. Next Level 🏙️ (I enjoy the “Lalala” and beatdrop parts)
7. Black Mamba 🐍(loved their debut but their newest songs are just better. It’s not a song you casually listen to. It’s an experience)
8. Dreams come true 🧚♀️ (I like how they let Giselle use her vocals and the bridge part is amazing but thats it)
// Girls 🗡️ (i really enjoy Ningning and Winter parts and the MV reminds me of a red version of Kick it by NCT127 but thats abt it…)
9. Life’s too short 🎀 (its alright not much to say)
10. Forever ❄️ (was so disappointed to hear that after being overwhelmed by black mamba. Ik its a ballad but it’s just not my type. It made me unstan them for a while)
Special mention ✨ to Ningning’s Solo wake up, I keep listening to it it’s really addictive even learned the choreography.
I hope SM uses more of that pop/trap genre for AEspa new releases and b sides.
And Also mention to Hold on Tight, I didnt like it at first but it sounds so AESPA-ish, it’s futuristic and also nostalgic
Drama hits so hard! I absolutely am obsessed with this song right now lol
Damn! When i saw your community post about this video I didn’t expect it to be 48 minutes long lol
My ranking would be
1. Drama- hands down their best comeback
2.girls
3.savage
4.black mamba
5.spicy
6.next level
7.lifes too short
8.better things
9.dreams come true
10.forever
DRAMA not doubt is their best comeback up to date!
Aespa is a group that either heavily hits or misses for me,here is my ranking:
I think I'm the only one here who likes Life's Too Short and Better Things 😭
All I've heard from Aespa when I heard Life's Too Short was that their music was... intense to say the least
It was a breath of fresh air where I can just vibe listening to it, was an instant add to my studying playlist
Better Things had my ass shaking with "THAT verse" you know the one
KNOW M-
It was unusually cunty 😭😭 I can't believe summer cuntiness is a thing
This might be a weird take but the fact that aespa’s music is experimental and unconventional is actually what drew me to them. I understand why so many people love black mamba and I really love it don’t get me wrong but idk to me it’s kind of just girl crush with an aespa twist. Which is fine but I really prefer they’re songs that are a lot more unconventional. I’m a Girls fanatic I genuinely don’t get why people hated it it’s my favourite Title Track by them 😭. Girls was great I think the bridge is amazing lol
Omg! I loved this whole video and how detailed you explained each comeback. I hope you do one for Lesserafim next 😊
I completly agree with life's too short, honestly the strategy of the completly english song to catch in a new fanbase is a good idea but if the song is completely different from the rest of your Titel Tracks, I don't See how that makes sense. If you really like this song and then Check Out the group for more music like that and there aren't a Lot of them Like that in their entire discography, why Stan the group
A english song in your core sound would be smarter
Revisiting this and thinking how cool it would have been to have supernova be aespa’s English debut! It’s super consistent with aespa’s main appeals (the sci-fi sound!!!), but a little more chill to reach people who aren’t used to how extra kpop can be?
drama with the kill bill aesthetics, probably one of my fave aespa mv. first listen i was mixed, but the more i listen the more i like it.
for suggestions:
mamamoo - know it will be quite a lot, but i really like their discography
purple kiss - also love their discography
ive - they definitely had some strong ones
stayc - also like their discography
itzy - also enjoyed their discography
Here in (the south of) England, the height of summer is around July-August. It gets really hot in september aswell, so i think for me, better things dropped at a perfect time.
My Ranking
1. Savage
2. Black Mamba
3. Girls and Drama are in the same boat. ( It is okay just not sure)
4 All the others are in this boat. ( Did not like and was not interested in one bit )
- I do not count * Dreams Come True since I consider it a cover. But really loved their cover of it.
Their best are still Next Level and Savage.
I never knew people didn’t like soft Aespa, these are my personal faves
1. Thirsty,
2. Better things
3. I’m unhappy
4. Life’s too short . Aespas best
“You make it feel me good, do you wanna upside down”💀🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can’t take those lyrics seriously🤣🤣
I'd love to see that kind of video with Dreamcatcher' title tracks 😍 Especially because their comeback is coming~
I LOVED THIS TYPE OF VIDEO! i think a red velvet one would be so good!
Best in my opinion:
1) My World
2) Drama
3) Black Mamba
4) Savage
5) Dreams Come True
6) Girls
7) Life's Too Short (English Vers.)
8) Better Things
9) Next Level
10) Forever
Nah bro
1) Savage
2) Next Level
3) Drama
4) Black Mamba
5) Spicy
6) Better Things
7) Girls
8) Lifes too short
9) Forever
WINTER BOB
WINTER BOB
spicy being higher than savage is crazyyyyyy
aespa tt ranked by someone who loves all their tts
1. black mamba (best kpop debut wbk)
2. drama (every single thing about this cb has me dying, the instrumental and the bridge are blessed, whoever produced this song deserves a good fuck)
3. girls (its GOOD yall, it does hit, we love you girls, just disliked the album)
4. savage (yk aespa one of the few groups who can make experimental music)
5. spicy (i could fry on oil with this song, its just so good)
6. next level (the mother)
7. better things (the only aespa song i dislike, mid)
They are so unique
Well here's my personal ranking ( I don't particularly watch MVs too much, I usually listen on spotify so I lreally like songs with good vocals)
1. I'm able to mostly sing aespa songs pretty fine, but drama is much, much harder to even attempt singing it ( I love songs that are tough to sing, like the Bambi album tracks by Baekhyun)
2.Savage: I don't really like how the sets look like actual sets rather than backgrounds, but I LOVE the vocals, especially the final high notes from ningning and winter. I still think the rapping is aespa's best out of their title tracks, it really suits giselle. The pre chorus and drop into the chorus are the cherry on top
3. Black Mamba: The entirety of the song doesn't feel choppy in the slightest, it feels smooth af all the way through and I love that about BM. Best part is for sure the bridge with ninging and winter
4. Girls : This was probably one of my least favourite songs when I first listened to it. The chorus didn't feel like a chorus to me, compared to savage, but karina's vocals more than made up for whatever was lacking, easily my favourite parts of the song
5. Next Level: I don't really like more talky songs than more vocal songs, so it probably would've been ranked higher, but ningning and winter's parts in the 'watch me while I work it' section were godly
6.Better Things: I prefer more songs like the above 5 than summery songs, but vocalssssssssss
7. Life's too Short: Usually find songs like these reaaally boring but Idky, just vibed with the song
8. Spicy: I just found the song too be a little too boring for a title track, especially after the masterpiece that was Welcome to MY World( love songs like this). Loved the chorus though, especially the karina version
9. Dreams come True: I found the song to be alright, just not really my type of song
10. Forever: Didn't like that the chorus was just the word Forever on repeat forever, with the same repeated hand movement, and expected more as a ballad
I agree with your top 2 actually, I never thought black mamba could be topped but then drama came out and I was immediately hooked.
I would love to see these for other groups !
Releasing a christmas song in February is so funny to me lmao
We definitely need a Red Velvet video. So if you get started on it now you should be able to put it out by 2025 😂
already know it’s wrong if next level is not 1st and black mamba/savage is not in either 2nd or 3rd place. 2020-2021 was aespa’s best era and they have yet to ever beat it.
30:27 Great vid but I lost it here, WHO COMPARED NEXT LEVEL TO BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY 💀💀💀💀💀
It was a whole THING one twitter😂
People actually compared I got a Boy by SNSD to it and called it the Korean Bohemian Rhapsody and then Next Level came up too 😭
Best title track is drama. The mv, music and styling is so aespa (i would give some mentions to savage for a mpre AI feel). Best album is either savage era or spicy era. Both are iconic, both have great b sides. But imo drama rn is just the best era overall. The stages ,besides giselle getting a few lines and center time, its good
my ranking
1. Savage
2. Next Level
3. Black Mamba
4. Spicy
5. Drama
6. Dreams Come True
7. Girls
8. Forever
9. Life's Too Short
10. Better Things
the grey shading to me is them demonstrating that this is a drama ,a movie especially with the “subtitles” when they switch to that said grey shading yk?? also for the lore
i think they’re on their way to the flat aka kwangya but their obstacle this time is karina getting possessed by black mamba or smth so they’re not quite ready to go back yet or unsure of how to do so
those r just my thoughts:3
I have never agreed more with anyone on the girl soft crush concepts of aespa. I don't particularly care for them and I love the noise tech music so much and I think that it's so unique to them.
For me it’s
1. Drama
2. Better things
3. Illusion even tho it’s a pre
4. Spicy
5. Savage
6. Next level
7. Black mamba
8. Dreams come true
9. Girls
10. Life’s too short
11. Forever
