  • I'm trying to enable two-step on my turbo Toyota Supra to get that crazy two step popping out of the exhaust, but I'm running into a few issues as I really don't use two step on this car and this is my first time really setting it up with some sort of goal in mind.

    2 step on the supra really one of the most requested videos? Dont get me wrong I want to see it, but that's a bit surprising

      Lol... There's an extension to that though, not just the two step, using the two-step to do something else

    2 step and antilag are 2 different things.

    Hi do you know anyone want to sell supra?

  • @SmallKittyPaw

    Don't want to start roasting you since I have a lot respect for you and your content. But please stop confusing two step with anti lag. It's two totally different technologies...
    Two Step it's (as name suggest) second rev limiter. Nothing more, nothing less. There are different ways to achieve it but still it's only rev limit. Some cars use as simple things as throttle position limiters, fuel cut off or as in your case. Retarding timing. As result you get late combustion and less power. which gives ability to maintain lower rpm. As result of that, you get positive boost pressure. Since late combustion result in most of it going straight into exhaust or even combustion happen in exhaust/with open exhaust ports. Positive boost is only side effect of two step. Not part of it.
    Anti lag on other hand works only when you release throttle. Bit of fuel is sprinkled at exhaust stroke or by additional elements, straight into exhaust. Causing small combustions close to turbine to maintain spool and reduce lag. Mostly known from rally cars. Easily identified by popping and crackling sounds as they let of throttle. Due to noise it's actually illegal for street use in most of Europe.
    Both things are quite similar in how end result is achieved. But are totally different technology at the same time. No hard feelings and sorry for poor English ;)

      Lol... You can roast me, I am very used to it. You're absolutely right, and I am talking about two step, now one thing I want to mention is on this version ECU 2-step and antilag are together in one menu. On other ecu's they are separate. Antilag is to spool the turbo, 2 step is to limit rpm when launching. Used together you can have anti-lag and two-step in action to give you an RPM ceiling during the launch with boost... That's my understanding. But thank you very much for pointing that out because when I filmed the video I will make sure to refer to each one of them individually with the proper terminology, you are completely right. (EDIT) oh man you're talking about rally car anti-lag, you are absolutely right, but I actually have drag racing anti-lag enabled, that's something else. But you are right about the straight antilag on rally cars.

    • @WarpedLab
      @WarpedLab  3 роки тому +2

      @L U G O lol.. good eye, the first time I show anti-lag building boost, that second rev from the exhaust point of view I enabled 2 step, but I did not have the settings proper which is why it wasn't stuttering, that's exactly why I followed up and said I'm not familiar and I still have to mess with it to get it working right... I didn't even realize I did that 🙂

      @@WarpedLab Only thing I would add is to keep a good eye on temperature. I'm not good at tuning so won't suggest any settings. But either way it gonna generate insane amount of heat. While precision turbo is definitely meant for high performance stuff it's better to be safe than sorry. Well warmed up engine and giving it minute or so on idle, after each few runs to bring temperatures down is good idea. For sake of the video. It might be cool to get thermal camera (if you have one) on exhaust manifold and show people that insane amount of heat

    • @WarpedLab

      Exactly what I experience, after a few shots at it, it started overheating. And then one of my electric fans went out. But man the thermal camera idea is absolutely fantastic.. that's great
