I’ve never seen nos injection be used before the turbo. Seems like a pretty uncommon setup that could cause pooling in the intercooler 😂 Depending on if it’s a wet or dry nos system, usually the injector is placed at the end of the intake system, just before the inlet manifold or multiple injectors for each cylinder port.
Its more for show, like a hood ornament thats somewhat functional. If the turbo was positioned correctly and the nos was fitted way after the intercooler it would actually make use of its potential. Its like spraying an inhaler in front of your face and trying to breath it in.
@@eryczakpl2337 It won't make it spool any faster as it's the exhaust gasses passing through the turbine that spools up the compressor wheel. The compressor wheel would probably spool slower actually compared to normal nitrous injection. Since there would be less nitrous molecules making it into the cylinders, so less cylinder pressure and exhaust pressure for the turbine. I think the only reason to do nos like this is for it to look cool lol.
The turbo will suck it in fine from where it is, and once the turbo pulls it in it’s gotta go through a foot of 4” pipe then past the throttle body and into the intake where it’ll be distributed plenty evenly. Honestly he could have the nozzle protruding out 1/2” in front of the turbine housing and it would still draw every bit of that N2O in under boost.
He's not entirely wrong though. A major manufacturer (saab?) did pre turbo alcohol injection testing and found the vapor to be incredibly damaging to the blades. However, another company did their own testing (devils own injection?) and found the damage could be mitigated by spraying at the center of the assembly. This is my vague recollection at least. I believe it was postulated that the inside of the blade has a lower velocity than the outer edge, making it less susceptible to damage.
DON'T PUT NITROUS BEFORE TURBO THAT WILL ERODE THE FAN !!! YOU SHOULD INJECT IT BETWEEN THE TURBO AND THE INTERCOOOLER FOR LOWERING THE TEMPS AND MANAGE THE COOLING OR INJECT JUST BEFORE THE CYLINDER FOR HAVING MAXIMUM BOOST 🙂
Hasn’t done anything to the blades, and it’s been over a year and still looks new. Plus it’s only used to spool up the turbo so it doesn’t get used much.
People think NO2 only cools after the turbo, but that’s not true. Instead of taking 200 degree air and lowering it to 70 inside the charge pipe, you’re taking 70+ degree pre-turbo air and making it 20 degrees or whatever it works out to be. The law of thermodynamics is always at play. If your intercooler works properly you don’t need extra cooling anyway.
Also, how can a gas erode metal with no particulates in the gas? I would think running unfiltered is the bigger issue, but with turbos as cheap as they are now, it doesn’t matter.
Isn't it one of thoose that have a lever to apply tension when closed? Maybe i explained it poorly so i'm sorry if you don't know what i mean. For reference tool boxes have a similar clamp style to keep them shut
