You can try strapping the rear of the car down to pull it down into the roller a bit harder. You will lose a bit of power due to added rolling resistance but will get a more accurate reading than you are with it lifting and spinning.
My first thought exactly. That thing trying to drive off of the rollers was the sketchiest shit i've seen in awhile.
The dyno will also show more power than the cars producing with roller climb too!
Should check out the dyno vid or Mad Mike’s quad turbo 4rotor. That was a wild video
also lower the pressure in the tires a bit.
Te rolling resistance is the only reason I can see why the dyno guy is happy running it like this?? Sketchy as but it's rolling up on to the top of 1 roller only.. loose traction too tho but the car not setup to "lift" body and plant the radials anyway. Need setup rear suspension and put it on a hub dyno. They very lucky nothing went wrong

hub dyno will be good for a supra IV since its fully RWD itll read better and probably give more HP aswell i bet itll hit 925 on a hub as is rn

I was thinking the same every dyno pull I see the straps are tight as hell so it doesn’t move and get traction. Even cleetus doesn’t leave then that loose

i just binged thru this series waiting for work to start on the mountain and my truck to get out the shop. the supra is my FAVORITE car ever, and watching this build i feel i can do it myself (maybe include a dont try this at home warning? hah!) incredible work all around, keep chasing that 1k+ power!

If you fitted some normal wheels with narrow road tyres your bhp would have been a lot more and wouldn’t have put a load of wear and heat into the drag radials. Same them for the track.

No, the tires are probably spinning because of how loose those straps are. Tighten those things down hard and the tires won't spin as much. The car shouldn't be lurching forward like that. Lucky the rear wheels didn't catch otherwise it would lurch forward or break something.

Sketchy dino strap job from this shop, I wouldn’t risk taking my car there. It’s all fun and games when nothing happened but when it does everyone starts panicking, yelling, second thoughts etc
@EddieYT clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about. Dyno dynamics explicitly states in their instructions for use of the dyno that you need to leave enough slack on the straps to allow the car to climb up onto the front roller. This is how the dyno get its reading. It’s funny that you’re assuming yourself to know better than professionals who have been doing this for years

Just so all of the "dyno experts" are clear, Dyno Dynamics, which is what this dynometer is, specifically says in their instructions to leave enough slack to allow the vehicle to move forward onto the front roller. Do you think these guys who do this day in day out don't know what the hell they're doing?? Lol you guys are FUNNY!

I definitely don't like the way the car was jumping atoms on the dyno!!! Should've found a more secure way of strapping it that didn't involve the straps rubbing on the front fenders... I also feel like if the rear tire was staying in the groove of the rollers it wouldn't have been "spinning".

1000 to the crank isnt bad at all, with added nitrous you could easily get 1000whp

Quick and easy fix to this issue, (properly strap the rear first of all), once the rear straps are in place, air down the rear tires, cinch the straps tightly and refill to normal tire pressure, voila! No more spinning.
You an expert, bro? Dyno dynamics states in their manual to leave enough slack to allow the vehicle to climb up onto the front rollers (of the pair).
Dont need to be a pro to know more surface area means more grip. Also, that's why instruction sheets are usually ignored. I agree with Brent and spraying some 3m glue across the tires. PFI speed does it all the time on anything 600hp amd up

I simply said that the designer and manufacturer of this particular dynometer specifically states in their user manual to allow for enough slack to let the vehicle climb onto the front roller... you want to ignore the user manual of a machine like that? Mind boggling to me that there are so many thick headed wanna be experts on here who have zero experience operating a dyno.

My guess for horsepower on the dyno is 885 😊
In the most throtl tradition 860hp is getting rounded off to 1000hp.
Ps. They couldn't make 1000hp so loosened then straps made wheels spin and now they have an excuse.
That thing is a unit!

How are y'all just standing there looking at those loose straps and nobody is saying anything? The car shouldn't be jumping forward like that. You guys are lucky it didn't walk off the dyno. That being said, Quinn did a great job building the motor!
That seemed weird to me as well, but I don't know enough about dynos to be sure.

I wanted to say the same... This loose straps could also may had an effect to the spinning tires in the final power result
Probably would of helped the spinning too if the tire was in contact with the all the rollers instead of nearly coming off

Take this thing to Haltech, let the guys who know what they're doing tune it in person on a decent hub dyno. Only so much you can do over the phone. Not to mention, that dyno operator apparently happy with letting a customers car walk a foot up the front roller every pull.

@@RR-cg2rq clearly over 1000hp at the crank without all the wheel spin which was the goal. Hub dyno would show 900hp+ at the hub im sure.
@@milehighboost5521 probably still under a thousand hp even at a hub dyno. I doubt there would be more than a hundred hp difference if this was done on a hub dyno. But yeah, I also noticed how the rear wheels kept going up the rollers

I’ve never seen a dyno operator ignore an easily fixed issue so many times. Tighten the straps even a little bit and maybe add some at the back

@@oftankoftan making 850 to the wheels is approximately 1,000 to the crank. (Edit: A motor loses approximately 15% of CHP to the drivetrain.) CHP is what's used and advertised by automakers... Plus, they can always use the nitrous to add horsepower.

Properly strapping the car on the dyno will help with spinning lol
Still an awesome build
Exhaust has to be 4" all the way to back box .
Also inside the back box has to be minimum of 4".
You guys have installed Greddy exhaust from half the way which is 2.5 or 3" and does not work for high power.

Damn beautiful Supra mk4 are, one of the best looking cars.
Follow a Swedish couple here on tube that have a Supra4, and a new Mk5 with StHu body kit,
They prepp their Supra and put out think its was 1001hp on the wheel.
But in his latest video he talk about change things on the car, and stepp down in HK.
To more street friendly spec.
For a daredevil its probably a blessing to drive. hehe
