Considering that you’re moving into a new house, maybe invest in some new shelving units that are all the same or similar color. Please don’t take my comment as being mean. I’m just a little OCD about a cohesive appearance and I think that would make your collection stand out even more. Always enjoy your videos.

I agree id say go with black or dark wood/walnut shelving to give a contrast with the lighter colored walls. Also would match the dark couch. There are some sellers on ebay that make some amazing large video game related banners (up to 30 ft wide). Some of the ones I went with are Star Wars, TMNT, Back To The Future etc I have them all around the walls of my game room. Bigger pieces can make a cooler statement sometimes then a ton of smaller frames. Thats just my opinion youve got a lot of walls to decorate.

@@Xx1SailorScoutxX im a mover aswell ill break fingers for yah if they take anything.. i never understood why people think its a good idea to steal working for a moving company.. number 1 its not that difficult to figure out who did it or even notice it for that matter. number 2 you can make alot more money doing this then you can selling that ring you just stole.. if you get good enough theres no reason why you cant have $200 days as a good mover. ive planted easy targets for people just to see and caught maybe 2 people in 10 years so luckily around here people are normally good for their word. i also dont work for no fly by night company so our guys are all good. i agree 100% some of those cheaper companies who pay there guys pennies are the ones you should be looking out for. i dont need to steal when i get paid well and usually when you take care of your client they typically take care of you.. plus karma would smite me if i stole anything lol lets be real.. and if i gotta have a pep talk with my guys about theft then i probably have the wrong guys.. good help is hard to find brother..

It’s definitely like a game of Tetris. I’d say, as you’re moving around, monitor and picture where you’d want your furniture to set. Visualize how your setup would look and then proceed to arrange accordingly. Of course being neat and organized is no issue, as I’d be certain you’d want it that way yourself. But that’d be my suggestion. I wish I could do that for the house we currently live in.

If there’s 3 rooms available, (and assuming that the collections are big enough to make this idea worth doing), I’d do one dedicated to retro, one to modern (PS2 or PS3-Switch), and one to the PC stuff.
Also, I’d try to alphabetise them as they’re unpacked, so that it’s easier to manage I guess (also stacking them horizontally makes them easier to handle I’d say).
Can’t wait for the finished product! :)

    • @pan5473

I think organizing by system->Genre->Alphabetic it's the best solution for games.

    • @BorislavVeselinov

Had the same thought. Definitely, make the room with the fire place the modern game room. Also, alphabetizing can be a bit of a pain, but it makes everything easier in the long run. If I didn't have alphabetizing then I would easily loose track of what I own.

If you’re looking for a great desk/work table consider mounting a kitchen countertop to a wall somewhere. It can be any length you need. There’s no legs or other obstructions underneath it because it’s bolted to the wall with big “L” brackets and the backsplash prevents anything from falling behind it.
I’ve got an attractive, 10 foot long kitchen countertop bolted to the wall in my games room and it’s the best desk I’ve ever had. I used 3” Tapcon screws to bolt it to the concrete wall. It’s so strong you can even sit on it. Best of luck MJ. 👍🏼

I love the layout of the new place and I can’t wait to see what you do with it!
The first things that come to me as far as setting up I would say definitely tint those windows or get some blackout curtains so the light does damage any of your collectibles, I love the way you have the tv in front of the fireplace but if you haven’t already you should put a board or something over it to cut down on dust. That’s all I can think of right now but I hope everything is going smoothly with the move, I know what a pain it can be, especially with a large collection!

As someone with a large gaming collection myself and having moved into multiple rooms recently.
I organised by the screens. I had 3 main setups, CRT TV, CRT Monitor, Modern Flatscreen TV. Then I divided all my setups, for example my Dreamcast, System 2x6 and Naomi 2 (last 2 are arcade systems if anyone is confused) went on the CRT Monitor, SNES/N64 generation stuff went on the CRT TV and PS3 gen onwards (with exception being Wii which I have on the CRT TV) going on the modern flatscreen.
Don't forget to recalibrate your CRTs after the move.

Definitely put PC in the second room with all the Big Box PC stuff. It may also be an idea to put your personal less popular consoles for play back there if you don't have enough space for them all out in the main room. Try to keep the Kiosk and you arcade cabinet together if possible, they look nice together. Its hard for me to help with exact detailing because I'm not there but I believe in your ability to set it up well and look forward to seeing it.
