I've always liked Celine's version of this song but when I heard Laura singing it I was just blown away. Such a rich, powerful voice she was blessed with and perfect for this type of song.

One of the most,'Raw',emotional,tear-jerking,gut wrenching songs I've ever heard!!!!She sings with so much power and heart.Sometimes during this "Love Ballad"you'd think she reached her vocal maximum but the song grows louder and stronger.She belts it like she really means it.I say that after hearing this,the 80's were the last of the great song era.If an artist tried to bring back the 80's in an album it might turn out to be pretty terrific just ask Taylor Swift!!!Thank You For The Memories...RIP Laura Brannigan!!!

Kimo K I am a huge Laura Branigan fan, but this song will always belong to Jennifer Rush who truly sings it the way it should be. Jennifer also co-wrote the song so that gives it extra meaning to me. I do prefer Laura's version over the dreadful Celine Dion version.

Kimo K Air Supply did not sing it first. Jennifer Rush wrote it and sang it first in late 1984. I have heard the Air Supply version and it is pretty bad. Almost as bad as Celine Dion's version.
I meant that Air Supply was the first and only men to do a cover.Jennifer Rush's Version is the'Absolute'.Best and that's because she wrote it.Look what happenend to Gilbert O'Sullivan and ,"Alone Again,"Nobody wanted to record the song so he-Gilbert-sang it himself.Now it's a classic!!!Jen has the edge as she sings with so much of her heart and soul because she was trying to convey a message of LOVE and how precious it really is.As I said.She wrote it. Same as Misty Blue by Dorothy Moore,Fiji's cover,Marry J. Blige...not good enough to even have the slightest grasp or inkling of what that song was really about.Try The Temptations or Glady's Knight on Neither one of us.That's Pain!!!
