Such a tragedy for this lady. Her husband ended up dying in 1994 and then she died of a brain aneurysm in 2004 ten years later. I saw her at a concert 2 years before she died...she didn't look anything like she does here and there was only more than a handful in the audience...It was soul destroying for such a magnificent artist. Self-control is my favourite, the way she sings that gives me goosebumps and reminds me of my youth...RIP Laura, you were magnificent x

Unfortunately her husband had died and her mother had a variant of Alzheimer's disease. She no longer had anyone to protect her. Now she is in heaven with her two angels, probably singing them an Irish ballad.

I saw her decades ago at a packed concert at Lincoln Center. She was terrific. I was really surprised and saddened when she died. But I was very glad I saw that concert.
