    Dude, THANK YOU for showing the transform effect so clearly. I was trying to do the absolute simplest thing imaginable with two spaces on the same layout but a lot of switching clips within those spaces from a multicam timeline. After failing miserably with adjustment clips, I was way down a masking rabbit hole when I finally came upon this video. using the positioning and cropping controls in the transform effect was exactly what I needed to create simple boundaries I could zoom and position within - while keeping the "canvas" intact on my cuts. THANK YOU!

  • @ElrosElanesse
    @ElrosElanesse 2 роки тому +1

    Really cool :)
    Another easy way to add the outline that doesn't require fusion is with a solid color generator, create a compound clip and also using the transform effect to cut it round, just leaving it just a bit bigger than the other one.
    Another easy way is using the video collage effect and setting it to tile, one can add the circle crop and outline with one effect (+ some other effects and animations)... but this one is much more resource hungry xD xD

    Hey, thanks! Great video as always. Unfortunately I some how can't ease the zoom- and sizing animation of the talking heads footage. I have animated the full screen shot becoming a circle while getting smaller and moving into corner. So far no problem. Usually I can just chose eas-in for example, in the key frame editor of each clip on the editing page, after I have checked the settings in the dropdown. Some how suddenly there is no more icons for the different curve shapes or menu when left clicking on the keyframes. It might have something to do with the fact that I have use fusion features on that clip. Or it's because of a recent update.

    • @CreativeVideoTips
      @CreativeVideoTips  2 роки тому +1

      I like the way you think Guido. Yes there certainly is, you can actually create a tool or Macro out of anything you do in Fusion. However for something like this I would generally do something as simple as drag the fusion comp to a power bin. Power bins let you re-use the clips between projects.

    • @CreativeVideoTips
      @CreativeVideoTips  2 роки тому +1

      Hi - I don't have a video on that motion, but it was done in Fusion with just 2 nodes. An sEllipse node going straight to sRender. The animation is happening with the length parameter on the sEllipse node to draw it on. Hope this helps. This is all then just stacked on a video 2 on the edit page above my talking head video clip.

    I thought there was an effect that does that (DVE) but I checked and it makes it rectangular not circle.

      yeah DVE can kind of get you there, but it's not a perfect circle. I would not be surprised if Blackmagic builds this as a new effect soon. Thanks for watching!

    How did you make the circle wrap around your face at the beginning?

      good question, this is just 2 keyframes on the ellipse node - using the property called - "length". I had this in the video and it got to be too long. Let me know if you have trouble finding it.

      Hi Matteo! I use Screenflow 10 on a Mac. I do a lot of the editing in there too for the zooms. I have heard great things about camtasia too but screeenflow is great!

      @@CreativeVideoTips thank you. What's your best export settings in Screenflow to Davinci Resolve for further editing?

    • @CreativeVideoTips
      @CreativeVideoTips  2 роки тому +1

      @@digicore-101 I use HEVC at only 3000 kbps. 24p lately, AAC audio etc at 3840x2160. I like 60p for screen capture but 24 really keeps my files small which is important as I ramp up production on tutorials this year. On my camera I only use the 30 Mbps hevc setting to save space on those files too.
