Hi @JasonRobertsVideo might be useful to mention the version of Resolve we need to be on to follow the tutorial. I'm using the free 16.2 version (newer versions are not compatible with my old graphics card), and the sEllipse node does not exist. Any other workarounds that doesn't need that node would be very appreciated. Thank you very much for a great tutorial!
That was a terrific video, Jason. Just what I was looking for. I don't know how you learn to master so many Fusion tools. For example, you have Elipse and S-Elipse. I mean how in the world?? These practical lessons are so handy. You have a new subscriber.

It is possible to do it as well with elipse+background instead of selipse and srender? And which is better
I noticed that my color grading affects the circle ring color. Is there any way to prevent this?
This is the easiest way I've seen and maybe the only one that does what I need!
I normally get a video fully edited (new model home walkthru vid) then go to OBS to replay it while my circle cam can be put in the upper corner or anywhere else while I narrate the video then take that back to DR to add captions and music. The circle with a light shadow had to be made in Gimp. The mask is a web cam filter in OBS
Are you doing all that in DR? Adding the Face Circle and Voice?
Everything you describe for the result you want I think can be done in Resolve :)

That would be great! I prefer a one stop shop. OBS was harder to figure out than DR! It's a lot of work.
I got the Speed Editor which includes the Studio Version right out of the gate.
DR should be about a $3-4k program back before everything went to subscription but thank God they did not do that!

The little keyboard goes a couple weeks on a charge so mine had to be finally charges right now and I'm handicapped without it. I don't even know some of the commands without it. It's nice.
So I never run it plugged in but had a hard time getting it jump started to come on so I learned just plug the USB cord in for like one second till the lights come on then you can unplug it for many days. That might help someone.

Jason are you able to record that screen recording of yourself in DR?
I want to roll a pre edited video in DR while recording myself in a webcam, face in circle narrating the video.
Trying to abandon OBS but last I saw you have to have a plugin or something to record your webcam in DR?
Hi that's a great question, but I don't think so (I could be wrong). You can record voice over audio into DR. You could just film yourself watching the video and then import that in DR and then put in in a circle on top of the video and then export??

So for now I fully edit my clips into a video in Dr then go to OBS to roll the video and narrate it with me in a little circle cam somewhere, usually in the upper right of the screen, then back to DR to add music and captions.
I see all you guys doing teaching on DR with yourself in a pic in pic of some type and hoped it was all being done in DR by someone.
As you mention DR lets us record audio, maybe webcam capture could be next ?!?!
I thought NVIDIA ShadowPlay was going to be my answer but unless I'm missing something it's pure crap for my needs.
The pic in pic webcam is stuck in a corner of your choice with no circle cam options or anything. I have a 41" curved monitor, I need to move my circle cam. I'm all good in OBS if I keep bouncing back and forth =(
Are you using any of the Stream Decks?
I'm not using stream deck. You could record your screen using something like Camtasia at the same time as you are recording yourself with a phone/camera and then combine the 2 in Resolve with you in the circle.
Is it somewhat easy to save this into a template that could be reused in future videos? Great tips btw
In Fusion, go to File - Export Fusion Composition. In another video go to File - import fusion composition.

That's odd - maybe start over again and see if you missed a step maybe? Also make sure nodes are connected in the right way.
