Guys I went to high school in Pittsburg. My brother worked at that dealership years ago with Paul. Glad to see they are doing well up there. Loving the 858
Enjoy them!! I bought a ZR600 from granite state last year for my wife. Great sled. Awesome dealer exactly the same experience we had. Paul went through everything with her. Old school service isn’t coming back they never stopped!
Bobcat brothers lol there's my idea. That dealership sounds awesome. For a lot of guys getting a new sled is a big day. Getting the run down and homey experience is a nice gesture. When I got my sled it was just "sleds out back" lol no one was even back there. But they did offer to deliver it to my house, which was nice of them. I had a custom made XC hat with the right font made for my sled since Polaris didn't make it. I love those catalysts!
That's what I'm saying! I've had almost that exact same experience and for me I'm like "Yea ok no biggie"...but sometimes it's someone's first time buying/getting into sledding and that's just not a great way to get them going. Regardless, I'm glad dealers like Granite State are indeed still out there, just gotta find them!
I’m Thinking you two went from the Boost Brothers to the “Catalyst Connoisseurs” !! 😁 Enjoying the content.. Take Care and keep up the great videos. 👍🏼
I'd thought of that one too at one point! There's been some solid ones in the comments here, I have no idea how we're gonna pick one now haha. Thank you for the good words! About to head back to editing and keep the content coming 🥸
Looking forward to another snowmobile season of your amazing content! I thoroughly enjoy your videos, and the amount of detail you go through. Keep up the great work!
I'm not a Cat guy but if I were I'd buy one at Granite State. Those guys are always willing to help not matter what you ride. If they can help you they will.
Hey Tanner, When you’re looking over both the sleds for comparison I believe your RX-C comes with the 4th wheel on rear axle and the SnoPro only has 3. THINK SNOW ❄
You're correct, the R-XC does have a 4 wheel rear axle standard. I've got the full in depth comparison video filmed, just gotta work it into the queue for editing now
Check out and pull the hood off the air box boot between the throttle body’s and the lower air box. It’s a big oval coupler and there’s no clamp on that side and it’s kinda a loose fit. Probably won’t have any issues but with snow pack upfront I could definitely see snow getting through the joint.
Very cool! I'm excited to follow along hearing your likes/dislikes/feedback throughout the season. I was really close to ordering the cat but got scared of a brand new engine/second year chassis combo. I will be riding a 25 850 comp turbo(watched your other vids since I did the jaws pipe already). Happy riding and I hope the sled gods bless us with all the white gold we can handle!
Boy that Jaws pipe install, mainly those Comp pipe springs, was a rough one haha. My spring puller is still bent :( I definitely hear everyone on the first year engine thing, so far, for me it's worked out well *knock on wood*. My 2019 Indy 850 was solid as could be, hoping for the same positive first year experience here too haha
Thanks bud! I'm real excited to see how these things go. The SnoPro calibration seems really good, if the shock damping is solid, that's gonna be a really good out of the box package for most people.
Right!? When did rounding way up become the norm?? I guess it's easier for racing classes and such, but it's definitely cool to see someone sticking to the real CC number
I demoed the 858 last year at very end of year during that weekend blizzard we had was a blast! I always try to support Granite State myself they are old school good people have bought plenty of stuff there.
@camaro69green31 are u sure? I knew some baffoon would say that. Still smoking more, than any other sled when in break in mode. Glad u showed up captain obvious!!
@@Mikeyhoncho1 I think we know who the Baffoon is. You don't need to be embarrassed and rude because you are ignorant (ignorant means lack of knowledge). It's all good.
I will say I'm impressed, both of these smoke, but even in break in they smoke less than any of my Polaris sleds that are well out of break in. The Polaris sleds when cold are quite smokey, but they do clear up when warm. I'll be curious to see how these 858's are after several miles...all in all first impressions are really positive from me!
The Buick bob?! That's what I want it to do on long trips, I love that I can have these ride like an F350 when I need it to, but also on long roadtrips have it float. For $425 they've impressed me so far. Curious to see how the adjusters hold up after a full winter of VT road salt/brine
Please let me know if the alpha rails and new engines hold up. I really wanna try on but cant afford to get one thats still unknown about its common failings
I won't be able to speak on the alpha rails as I'm not a mountain guy, but the engine longevity/durability and other things, I'll definitely be reporting in on!
It's 18x8.5' plus the V nose so somewhere around 22' overall length. We can drive in pretty much any combo of three sleds, if we've got 129's and 137's we can weasel 4 in there backing one in. I use it to move cars around as well when the steel car hauler cant come out due to salt/storage reasons. Love the size, it tows well, but the overall build quality is abysmal.
You and me both! Being that I normally run the Storm and iGrips, I can't wait to get on the snow back to back with my other Storm equipped sleds and see how the Arrowhead stacks up!
I've only got around 12miles on mine as of now, headed up to Mt Valin soon to get our first real ride in on them. So far I can't say I think mine has any alarming vibration too it...it's not 4 stroke smooth, but it's not anything that's making me go "uh oh something's wrong" if that makes sense.
Kinda wish i went with a RXC instead of XCR , well see how they do this yr. If they are good , ill dump the XCR next yr. Kinda over Polaris at this point
It didn't come with screen tho did it? That was extra vs 7s and the 2 dealers i delt with they tried selling me a new hood cause they said they wouldn't fit, when everyone was talking about trimming hood to make it fit. That was a turn off to me, specially when it made it more then the XCR and as much as a Doo
@@kwmiked That's right, both were originally equipped with the "standard gauge". We also opted for the new hood pods from hearing the same about the trimming. I've yet to see a standard gauge pod modified to see a comparison, but I'm guessing it's just a little less "polished" looking, probably a bit more of an exposed edge or something. All in on the R-XC (G8 upgrade, tunnel flares and tunnel bag) I'm just shy of $2k less than a 9R XCR. R-XC is a bit stiff in the suspension calibration department, but I believe it's a closer fit for me out of the box than the XCR as well so that's a bonus. The calibration on the SnoPro seems really good, as long as the damping is solid too, that's gonna be a great rig out of the box for a lot of folks!
Idk if id compare it to a 9r. Its probably more on par with 850. Well see once more people get them out on Trail snow. Mnt guys seem to say the 9r feels more powerful
On the 858's, the final drive/gearing is indeed all the same, even on the Riots. Same 30T top gear, 58T bottom gear and they all have 9T drivers. I filmed my "deep dive" comparison video yesterday and should have that out shortly.
Hat looks good I also have a weird head or big head i should say have hard time with hats lol!! Idk about cat cousins kinda sounds like kisses cousins hahaha. Congratulations with ur cat hopefully u like it. Been riding and racing cats since 2003 I love them nothing but good luck with them.
I don't believe there were/are any other shock options on either the SnoPro or R-XC...If I remember right, on the "base" ZR you can choose between the IFP standard shocks or the ATAC 3position electronic adjustable shocks, SnoPro is the AC5S shocks, and R-XC was the QS3R's. I'm honestly excited to work with the Fox units and see how they go!
They’re really growing on me. They look mean I Hope with arctic cats recent layoffs and pull from snow cross that this isn’t the beginning of the end for them. I really wish GSPE would get an additional brand in their store so they have a fighting chance if a.c does go belly up
So far so good with the two we've got here. Fingers crossed for Cat to simply be playing some smart business moves and a positive year of Catalyst sales to help keep them going.
You'd think after spending $20,000 on a new snowmobile that Arctic Cat would have a nice leather jacket to hand you instead of $75 worth of stuff in a box !
You should send me a link to something better for the price point if you’re gonna come in here with that nonsense. There’s no other shock on the market for the 17+ F250/350 that are triple tube, properly valved & 8pos adjustable that can be had for under $500 for the full set of four.
$425 is pretty hard to beat for what you get. I can normally find a way to see both sides to a comment but i have zero idea what you’re talking about here. a.co/d/3k1pYXM
man these new sleds are ugly! brand doesn't matter, totally ugly all the way around... i'll keep my 99 zrt while these ugly things can do the same as a new car,,, suck
I'm only 3 minutes in and I'm cracking up!!! Love this freaking channel!! I'm ready for Snow!!!
Guys I went to high school in Pittsburg. My brother worked at that dealership years ago with Paul. Glad to see they are doing well up there. Loving the 858
Super happy for you guys!
Glad you bought the new Cat.
You'll bring an educated set of options on the all new chassis and 858
Thank you for the good words! Already working on a lot of fun stuff for it, just need the snow!
@MunsonMotorsports we're starting to get snow in Michigan. Not that that helps you but it's good for the sport
Enjoy them!! I bought a ZR600 from granite state last year for my wife. Great sled. Awesome dealer exactly the same experience we had. Paul went through everything with her. Old school service isn’t coming back they never stopped!
Well said!
Awesome dealer! Always open late and have parts for many makes in stock! Pittsburg baby!!
I've even had them pick up the phone on their "closed" days, can't beat 'em up there
STOKED for some 858 content.
More on the way soon!
Best snowmobile content producer online right now!!! Great job!
Thank you! That means a lot and certainly helps keep me motivated to film/edit all the adventures!
Just bought the black 858 trail 137 with all the goodies. Can't wait to pick it up this week.
You're gonna love it! So far my first impressions with mine are very good!
Love my polaris sleds but mannnnn those new cats look sick!
Nice to see dealers doing a walk around, don't get that very often.
That's what I'm sayin!
