I can't agree about Edgeworth in Ashes. It provided much better closure to his character arc than Goodbyes, having him actually work alongside Wright to expose Gant. I think that it was needed to show that he truly had changed, and learning that Joe Dark was innocent was a much more believable prompt for him fleeing than what was originally given.
Declan Sheehan well yes, the case is about that. Joe Darke is not guilty as ruled by the court, no matter what else he did, and that’s why everyone was so conflicted. Because yeah, he may not have killed Neil, but doesn’t he deserve to go to jail regardless? It’s the whole point of RFTA
Whoo man, do I disagree with your take on Rise from the Ashes. It's one of my personal favorite cases, easily. I thought the case did great things for Edgeworth's character, and the team up with Wright and him against Gant is one of the highlights of the series. And that's not even considering the multitude of other high points in the case. Of course, it's your opinion, but I've never seen someone so turned off by this particular case.
+MGSmiech It's too long. Far too long. The pacing is pretty much garbage, the worst out of any AA case in my opinion. Players lose interest because of that and playing it feels like a chore. Some characters are just annoying and make the case even longer than it should be (For example, Angel and her back and forth pressing without hints to do so). Edgeworth's situation before the case isn't explained either. I'd literally play any other case in AA over this, at least until Gant shows up. He's the sole redeeming factor of this case. At least Capcom realized that this was too long and haven't replicated a case this long afterwards.
@@heresiarch. I don't get people saying this is so long. I thought it was pretty average compared to some other cases' lengths. Even some cases in the original trilogy felt longer, and cases like Succession and Ablaze certainly felt longer.
@@AlanJia8 I'm two years late, but there's a playthrough that has Rise from the Ashes split into _15 parts._ The average video length was around 30 minutes, but there were three parts that were almost an hour long just by themselves. Rise from the Ashes is far, _far_ longer than any other case in Ace Attorney. Edit: Just by searching Rise from the Ashes itself, I'm commonly seeing playthroughs of it going upwards to approximately seven hours. I'd imagine that you can beat almost the entirety of the rest of the game in that time.

ironically, rise from the ashes is tied with turnabout memories for my favorite case in the trilogy (i haven't looked into anything past trials and tribulations yet) and its all because of lana skye. i like ema, sure, and im glad she makes more appearances in the later games, but it was lana who really sold it for me.
From what I've heard, the 3DS Trilogy port changed some stuff in Turnabout Big Top to place Edgeworth's absence after Rise from the Ashes, rather than Turnabout Goodbyes as it originally did.
I would appreciate it if everyone who has played Spirit of Justice to refrain from talking about it in the comments section until the game is out. You might have played it, but please keep in mind that some of us have not as it has not been released outside of Japan yet. Thank you.
If I can call you out on this, I wish you brought Iris into the other countdowns to bring together the whole angel and devil sister matchup. Plus I love her more than any other female character in Phoenix wright because of her confession to Phoenix. But I guess that's just an opinion as well

I'm not sure how long it's been out on the app store but I've been playing Spirit of Justice on my iPad (same how I played Dual Destinies) I don't if it's been released on DS in the west yet but I can say that it's a beautiful game so far just from a visual/aesthetic standpoint. (note I have only played through the first case)
When I first did "The Stolen Turnabout" my reaction was "What?! What is this?! This isn't a murder trial?! What is going on?!" I really wish we'd get more cases that don't start off as murder cases though, it would be a nice change.
+Pigmask Major The Grand Turnabout is probably my #1 pick. Bridge to the Turnabout is very good, but not the best, as it depends on spirit channeling a bit too much. Mind as well make it a paranormal activity case, heh.

+Pheromone Rise from the Ashes is a thing which is really controversial. Some love, some hate it and some think its okay. From the writing and the charackters, its one of my favorites, but I think it was kinda easy compered to most cases (but I played DD, the rest of the Trilogy and some Apollo Justice before, so I was experienced). The thing is there are a lot of jokes to later cases and the case, atleast at the start, isnt all that special (compaired to Samurais, Spirit channeling and stuff) Edit: Just like he said, its long. But I think this is a good thing, it was realy fun to find out the truth.

+JCBro2014 I thought it was canon? It introduces Meekins, Ema, and it's the last case before Apollo Justice and it sets up some things for that game, mostly the issue of forged evidence and that plot point. I doubt the last case made for the first trilogy would not be canon.
Berry Box It's the last case of the first game, not the last case of the third game. It's supposed to take place between "Turnabout Goodbye" in Ace Attorney and "Turnabout Reunion" in Justice for All, but the inclusion of Edgeworth prevents it from fitting into the timeline. When you place Justice for All, you'll understand why Edgeworth couldn't have been a prosecutor for that case.
JCBro2014 It's the last case made for the trilogy, it's the last case before AJ that the Ace Attorney team worked on, it wouldn't make sense for them to establish plot here and then not make it canon. The case was made to tie into why Edgeworth left before JFA, since it was so vague as to why Edgeworth left in that game, all we got was "Edgeworth chooses death" and that's it, nothing else. The case was there to establish the problem with forged evidence which lead to Edgeworth becoming troubled by it and deciding to leave the courts since he wanted to find an answer to what it really meant to be a prosecutor since he saw a lot of problems in that year, mainly Von Karma going to great lengths to get a guilty verdict and having his superior force evidence so that a guilty verdict was made. Also the case is referenced later in future games. Although mind you I think it's dumb it should have used a new prosecutor instead of Edgeworth since it creates story problems as you said.
I can't believe how much bullshit you said about Rise from the Ashes That's why edgey isn't in your top five, it's in this case where he shines the most, teaming up with phoenix, facing of Damon Gant at the middle of the court, this case is the most fun I had in the series
I think the big problem with it is the placement right after the grand finale of the game (which is quite a lot to assimilate), and the fact it's very long. That's because it was added as an extra case for the DS version, so they needed to provide something good for those who already had the GBA version (hence the length). At first, I also found it long (even though it introduced me to a few of my favourite characters), but when I replayed the trilogy, I enjoyed it more.

To avoid any confusion when it was said that Rise for the Ashes was created after Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations he was talking about the original Gameboy Advance Versions of those two games that were never released in the West.

Alright, pal, the only way you can redeem yourself from putting THAT CASE in your Top 10 is by having *that case* on the bottom half and Bridge to the Turnabout, Turnabout Goodbyes, Turnabout for Tomorrow, Turnabout Academy, Farewell, My Turnabout and The Grand Turnabout above it. Otherwise, I won't forgive you. **pouts like a tsundere**
+FinnishDuck15 Turnabout Academy isn't that good to be honest. It's middle range because the killer is immediately predictable. The greatest thing about that case is Robin and that's about it. Don't get me started on the Athena fan club. She isn't as great of a character as weeaboos make her to be. Even Sebastian Debeste is better in my opinion.
5 Turnabout Trump. AJ Simply the best first trial. 4 The Magical Turnabout. SoJ Best second trial in my opinion. Imagine Big Top and DD's second case mixed up but done Wright and you get this case. Also Retinz is similar to Matt Engarde, but slightly less heartless. 3 Turnabout Goodbyes. PW Karma is great, you hate him for all the right reasons. Edgeworth's character arc is just amazing. Tho apart form karma and Yanni Yogi, i hate the rest of the characters because they are just annoying. 2 Turnabout Academy. DD Best use of the mood matrix, mediocre villain but the supporting characters were great. This is Blackquill starts to show that he has had a good bond with Athena. 1 Farewell my turnabout, JFA. Extremely tense, BEST villain to date (yes I like him more than Gant) and it's never boring either.
You say you're not overly fond of investigations but 3 of it's cases have made your top 20. Granted none of them are in the top 10, but that will still be a good deal above average given there are 8 games in the series and I'm guessing at least 4 of T&Ts cases will be in there. I'm with you on T&T being the best in the series, but the two Investigations games are my next favourite. I know I probably come off as an Edgeworth fanboy, but both those games are a homerun for me as every case is strong, the music is top notch and both have interesting overarching stories that give them direction and purpose. I like every game in the series, but Apollo Justice for me is all style little substance and Justice For All just lacks focus and feels too episodic. Sorry if this is rambling, but I just love the Investigations games and like to give them props where I can.
20. I found this case kinda boring (but Emeer was pretty entertaining). i liked how all of the four main characters were a direct part of this case (Victim, witness, defendant, etc.) 19. Investigations is actually one of my favs in the series and I don't think you give enough credit. i also found this one kind of boring with a lame villain. 18. I LOVE this case. Some people thought it was bad except for Gant but a strongly disagree. i love the characters, mystery and backstory of the case and the thing with Edgeworth and the length didn't really bother me. Overall my favorite AA1 case. 17. This one is actually my seconded favorite from T&T. I think playing as Mia with Diego as your partner and Edgeworth as the prosecutor was entertaining and I thought the ending was very tragic and impact full and a great setup for Bridge. 16. Agree, but should have been higher. (Taking down Alba doesn't bother me as much as some people. 15. Agree 14. Agree, except I love Larry and I feel he gets picked on too much. 13. Agree 12. Agree 11. I wouldn't say its the best first case or one of the better cases in general. It was kind of boring (except Payne's hair).
I actually love the cases in Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix wright. The Maya case is actually one of my favorites in the whole series. You can have your opinion, but I will always have mine. I also love Rise from the ashes, but to be fair, I don't hate a single case in any game.
I know I'm late for this, but you didn't mention the fact that Phoenix swallowed a vial that Dahlia used to house the poison that killed Terry. And Mia, who knew what the poison was capable of and didn't want another defendant to die, went into a full on panic, instantly demanding the trial be stopped so Phoenix could be rushed to the hospital.
I don't think it's hard to like Larry. He's so stupid and hot headed he's funny. He's not in my absolute favourites, but his everywhere kind of personality is hilarious. I love how he almost screwed himself up in Wright's first case. Just… is that even possible?
I respect this list, but I think you’re being a little harsh on RFTA. If they’d introduced another prosecutor, it wouldn’t have fit very well because the whole point is that Edgeworth is connected to everyone in the case. Plus, this case makes Edgeworth’s departure more dramatic and hammers in exactly what it means to seek the truth at any cost. Another prosecutor would’ve cheapened the effect and also why create a whole other prosecutor for only one game? Edgeworth “choosing death” also gives Franziska a clearer motive for revenge against Phoenix, because she thought he had truly died, not just left the country. Plus, the story was awesome, complex, and full of likable characters (only a couple were annoying to me). Its only flaw is how long it is in my opinion
Turnabout Ashes was alright. It was lacking due to the main arching story not existing. You had a main story with the first trilogy (Phoenix, Maya, Nick), Apollo Justice wraps around to Gavin, and Dual Destinies starts with the courtroom bombing. Ashes didn't do it well since it was its own story. A good one, but it didn't connect well, aside from the little quirks in Apollo Justice. It is long. Its a 3 day case in the original format and the days are longer much like the trials. The only thing I can think of longer in Ace Attorney history is Dual Destinies' final case. Except that feels longer because its a continuation from Starbuck's trial. Even those two combined weren't as long as this since the final trial is one day. God that countdown intro to each thing. Mmm. Love the music. Turnabout beginnings is great for its emotional impact. You feel it when Terry kills himself. It tears you apart like it tore Mia. The whole point of this story is backstory, and it works. It doesn't feel like a lengthy backstory with no meaning. It has significance. The second case in Justice for All felt like it had a lengthy backstory. The story was shorter, but it felt the payout didn't matter for the overarching story. I need to play Prof Layten v Ace Attorney. As well as investigations. I did not like Masq De Masq. It does bring ACE ATTORNEY into effect and I like it when Phoenix runs into the other courtroom. Wish it had a cutscene or image like when Franzizka busts in. I don't think it worked due to it being a theft case instead of a murder. The first two days feel pointless. Even when the murder comes in, it doesn't fit well. Young Franzizka looks like a whole other person. Now I REALLY wanna play investigations. Turnabout Trump was awesome. You are defending Phoenix and introduces the whole concept. Even shows how he is still sharp on his skills, pointing out when Apollo should object was cool. Seeing my list responses, BEginnings should be hirer in my opinion. Turnabout Memories was cool. You see how Mia Fey works in court and why she was amazing. I love her voice actor too. Brings her to life.

#20: Haven't played, skipped to avoid spoilers. #19: Kind of a meh case for me. Shi-long Lang and Kay Faraday were great, and I liked Ema Skye's reappearance, but it didn't leave much of an impression on me. I still prefer Turnabout Airlines. #18: This still remains my third favorite case in the series. I never thought that it got boring, there were a whole bunch of interesting characters introduced, the DS mechanics were nice additions, and the whole thing with Edgeworth doesn't really bother me. #17: My second favorite case in the series. It keeps it short and sweet, there's a lot of tension because you know that you aren't going to win, and Terry Fawles' suicide is one of my favorite moments in gaming. Also young Edgeworth is adorable. #16: Investigations is pretty bland overall, but this still remains my favorite case from the game. It brings all of the game's great characters together, has some good twists, makes Larry actually useful, and has one of the toughest villains to beat. There are some leaps in logic, but it's balanced out by the other stuff. #15: SKIPPPPPPPPP #14: I got kind of bored with the Stolen Turnabout. It wasn't all that interesting until Delite came along, and while it did pick up from there, I'm not as big a fan of it as others. The double jeopardy ending was great, though. #13: I really am not a fan of this case. While it did have the adorable young Kay and Franziska, and gave us Tyrell Badd, I just found it really boring. I didn't care about the KG-8 Incident, it's obvious that Gumshoe will be proven innocent, and Calisto Yew wasn't really interesting until the end and the next case. I don't hate it, but it's in my Top 3 least favorite cases. #12: Turnabout Trump is easily my favorite first case. The villain isn't obvious right away, we get to be a rookie again, Phoenix is the defendant, the new gameplay mechanic is introduced, and the actual villain's reveal was great. #11: I guess that Memories is my second favorite first case, but I don't have much to say about it. Young Mia is cute, the main villain is introduced, and young is Phoenix is adorkable.

Ok here is my opinion for each number 20: one of the redeaming factors of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. the entire finale of the case is downright depressing will the letter and Maya's "death" 19: My least favorite case from investigation. The main complement I give this case is the uses of little thief and the victim being the real criminal 18: I FREAKING LOVE THIS CASE. It is your opinion but this case is the perfect reason I love Ace Attorney. Super memorable characters, insane twists. and the need to think of you next move carefully near the end 17: Great case but a little too short. Also you have the Judge's brother. :) 16: another reason i hate investigations. So many tedious tasks throughout the entire case. you say Rise from the ashes is long, at least it had plot twist throughout compared to fining like 4 smuggling routes. 15: Great finale to the game along with combining ace attorney and layton puzzles seamlessly. the main complaint I have is the final plot twist comes way to early and the rest of the case involving the legendary fire was uninteresting. 14: I feel this is the real kick off to t&t. Luke Atmey is one of my personal favorite villains with his riddler like cockiness and shocking cleverness in the finale. has some evil puzzles in it though. 13: the best case in investigations hands down. one of the more impressive8 parts of this case is how it is integrated into the whole story without being random. *cough* turnabout beginnings *cough* 12: Great case but I still don't love Apollo Justice. It has some great puzzles in it but the story wasn't that fantastic. I feel they don't build up Kristoph enough for it to be a super surprising lot twist. 11: Another great case but I cannot think of anything super spectacular in it other than great for shadowing.
I don't hate the game, it's just one of my least favorites. I wasn't fond of a lot of the writing in the game, I didn't like most of the villains, I didn't really like the first case, and the 2nd case is my least favorite in the whole series. It's fine if you like the game and consider it your favorite, there were just too many things that didn't appeal to me.
Turnabout Randon I will agree case two does suck but you have to admit that turnabout big top and serenade are worse. those are the only ones I really felt were like a waste of my time.

I feel that the great witch trial from PLvsPW should have been higher. I mean, I also think some of the choices from T&T being placed higher than they perhaps should have, been due to the obvious bias toward said game. Don't get me wrong, Trials and Tribulations was an amazing game, but perhaps not the near perfect game it seems made out to be. To sum this spiel up, I personally feel that the great witch trial was better than the stolen turnabout which I feel was worse than turnabout memories. BUT, I agree with him (on memories being better than stolen) purely because of when Payne was rekt.
I take issue with Turnabout Trump. Even though Phoenix doesn't have a badge anymore, he could still defend himself. You can waive your right to an attorney and just defend yourself. Wouldn't he do that?

ironically, rise from the ashes is tied with turnabout memories for my favorite case in the trilogy (i haven't looked into anything past trials and tribulations yet) and its all because of lana skye. i like ema, sure, and im glad she makes more appearances in the later games, but it was lana who really sold it for me.

From what I've heard, the 3DS Trilogy port changed some stuff in Turnabout Big Top to place Edgeworth's absence after Rise from the Ashes, rather than Turnabout Goodbyes as it originally did.

I'm not sure how long it's been out on the app store but I've been playing Spirit of Justice on my iPad (same how I played Dual Destinies) I don't if it's been released on DS in the west yet but I can say that it's a beautiful game so far just from a visual/aesthetic standpoint. (note I have only played through the first case)
When I first did "The Stolen Turnabout" my reaction was "What?! What is this?! This isn't a murder trial?! What is going on?!" I really wish we'd get more cases that don't start off as murder cases though, it would be a nice change.
I really hope Bridge to the Turnabout isn't number one. It's not a bad case, but it would be very predictable if it was #1 for a multitude of reasons.

Guess I got a lot to look forward to (since I havent played Justice for All or Trials and Tribulations) since I fucking loved the crap out of that case.
+Pheromone Rise from the Ashes is a thing which is really controversial. Some love, some hate it and some think its okay. From the writing and the charackters, its one of my favorites, but I think it was kinda easy compered to most cases (but I played DD, the rest of the Trilogy and some Apollo Justice before, so I was experienced). The thing is there are a lot of jokes to later cases and the case, atleast at the start, isnt all that special (compaired to Samurais, Spirit channeling and stuff)
Edit: Just like he said, its long. But I think this is a good thing, it was realy fun to find out the truth.
+Pheromone I kind of liked it, but I just hated how much effort it took to get Gant convicted. It was like "I know he did it, why can't I just prove he did it and get it over with already?!" It doesn't help that it's a non canon case.
+JCBro2014 I thought it was canon? It introduces Meekins, Ema, and it's the last case before Apollo Justice and it sets up some things for that game, mostly the issue of forged evidence and that plot point. I doubt the last case made for the first trilogy would not be canon.
Berry Box It's the last case of the first game, not the last case of the third game. It's supposed to take place between "Turnabout Goodbye" in Ace Attorney and "Turnabout Reunion" in Justice for All, but the inclusion of Edgeworth prevents it from fitting into the timeline. When you place Justice for All, you'll understand why Edgeworth couldn't have been a prosecutor for that case.
JCBro2014 It's the last case made for the trilogy, it's the last case before AJ that the Ace Attorney team worked on, it wouldn't make sense for them to establish plot here and then not make it canon.
The case was made to tie into why Edgeworth left before JFA, since it was so vague as to why Edgeworth left in that game, all we got was "Edgeworth chooses death" and that's it, nothing else.
The case was there to establish the problem with forged evidence which lead to Edgeworth becoming troubled by it and deciding to leave the courts since he wanted to find an answer to what it really meant to be a prosecutor since he saw a lot of problems in that year, mainly Von Karma going to great lengths to get a guilty verdict and having his superior force evidence so that a guilty verdict was made.
Also the case is referenced later in future games. Although mind you I think it's dumb it should have used a new prosecutor instead of Edgeworth since it creates story problems as you said.

That's why edgey isn't in your top five, it's in this case where he shines the most, teaming up with phoenix, facing of Damon Gant at the middle of the court, this case is the most fun I had in the series
I think the big problem with it is the placement right after the grand finale of the game (which is quite a lot to assimilate), and the fact it's very long. That's because it was added as an extra case for the DS version, so they needed to provide something good for those who already had the GBA version (hence the length). At first, I also found it long (even though it introduced me to a few of my favourite characters), but when I replayed the trilogy, I enjoyed it more.

Karma is great, you hate him for all the right reasons. Edgeworth's character arc is just amazing. Tho apart form karma and Yanni Yogi, i hate the rest of the characters because they are just annoying.
2 Turnabout Academy. DD
Best use of the mood matrix, mediocre villain but the supporting characters were great. This is Blackquill starts to show that he has had a good bond with Athena.

You say you're not overly fond of investigations but 3 of it's cases have made your top 20. Granted none of them are in the top 10, but that will still be a good deal above average given there are 8 games in the series and I'm guessing at least 4 of T&Ts cases will be in there. I'm with you on T&T being the best in the series, but the two Investigations games are my next favourite. I know I probably come off as an Edgeworth fanboy, but both those games are a homerun for me as every case is strong, the music is top notch and both have interesting overarching stories that give them direction and purpose. I like every game in the series, but Apollo Justice for me is all style little substance and Justice For All just lacks focus and feels too episodic.
Sorry if this is rambling, but I just love the Investigations games and like to give them props where I can.

20. I found this case kinda boring (but Emeer was pretty entertaining). i liked how all of the four main characters were a direct part of this case (Victim, witness, defendant, etc.)

18. I LOVE this case. Some people thought it was bad except for Gant but a strongly disagree. i love the characters, mystery and backstory of the case and the thing with Edgeworth and the length didn't really bother me. Overall my favorite AA1 case.
17. This one is actually my seconded favorite from T&T. I think playing as Mia with Diego as your partner and Edgeworth as the prosecutor was entertaining and I thought the ending was very tragic and impact full and a great setup for Bridge.

I actually love the cases in Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix wright. The Maya case is actually one of my favorites in the whole series. You can have your opinion, but I will always have mine.
I also love Rise from the ashes, but to be fair, I don't hate a single case in any game.

I know I'm late for this, but you didn't mention the fact that Phoenix swallowed a vial that Dahlia used to house the poison that killed Terry. And Mia, who knew what the poison was capable of and didn't want another defendant to die, went into a full on panic, instantly demanding the trial be stopped so Phoenix could be rushed to the hospital.
I still think rise from the ashes gives more reason to have Edgeworth leave because he learned he used forged evidence.
I don't think it's hard to like Larry. He's so stupid and hot headed he's funny. He's not in my absolute favourites, but his everywhere kind of personality is hilarious. I love how he almost screwed himself up in Wright's first case. Just… is that even possible?

I respect this list, but I think you’re being a little harsh on RFTA. If they’d introduced another prosecutor, it wouldn’t have fit very well because the whole point is that Edgeworth is connected to everyone in the case. Plus, this case makes Edgeworth’s departure more dramatic and hammers in exactly what it means to seek the truth at any cost. Another prosecutor would’ve cheapened the effect and also why create a whole other prosecutor for only one game? Edgeworth “choosing death” also gives Franziska a clearer motive for revenge against Phoenix, because she thought he had truly died, not just left the country. Plus, the story was awesome, complex, and full of likable characters (only a couple were annoying to me). Its only flaw is how long it is in my opinion
Turnabout Ashes was alright. It was lacking due to the main arching story not existing. You had a main story with the first trilogy (Phoenix, Maya, Nick), Apollo Justice wraps around to Gavin, and Dual Destinies starts with the courtroom bombing.
Ashes didn't do it well since it was its own story. A good one, but it didn't connect well, aside from the little quirks in Apollo Justice.
It is long. Its a 3 day case in the original format and the days are longer much like the trials. The only thing I can think of longer in Ace Attorney history is Dual Destinies' final case. Except that feels longer because its a continuation from Starbuck's trial. Even those two combined weren't as long as this since the final trial is one day.

Turnabout beginnings is great for its emotional impact. You feel it when Terry kills himself. It tears you apart like it tore Mia.
The whole point of this story is backstory, and it works. It doesn't feel like a lengthy backstory with no meaning. It has significance. The second case in Justice for All felt like it had a lengthy backstory. The story was shorter, but it felt the payout didn't matter for the overarching story.
I need to play Prof Layten v Ace Attorney. As well as investigations.
I did not like Masq De Masq. It does bring ACE ATTORNEY into effect and I like it when Phoenix runs into the other courtroom. Wish it had a cutscene or image like when Franzizka busts in. I don't think it worked due to it being a theft case instead of a murder. The first two days feel pointless. Even when the murder comes in, it doesn't fit well.
Young Franzizka looks like a whole other person. Now I REALLY wanna play investigations.
Turnabout Trump was awesome. You are defending Phoenix and introduces the whole concept. Even shows how he is still sharp on his skills, pointing out when Apollo should object was cool. Seeing my list responses, BEginnings should be hirer in my opinion.
Turnabout Memories was cool. You see how Mia Fey works in court and why she was amazing. I love her voice actor too. Brings her to life.

#19: Kind of a meh case for me. Shi-long Lang and Kay Faraday were great, and I liked Ema Skye's reappearance, but it didn't leave much of an impression on me. I still prefer Turnabout Airlines.
#18: This still remains my third favorite case in the series. I never thought that it got boring, there were a whole bunch of interesting characters introduced, the DS mechanics were nice additions, and the whole thing with Edgeworth doesn't really bother me.
#17: My second favorite case in the series. It keeps it short and sweet, there's a lot of tension because you know that you aren't going to win, and Terry Fawles' suicide is one of my favorite moments in gaming. Also young Edgeworth is adorable.
#16: Investigations is pretty bland overall, but this still remains my favorite case from the game. It brings all of the game's great characters together, has some good twists, makes Larry actually useful, and has one of the toughest villains to beat. There are some leaps in logic, but it's balanced out by the other stuff.
#15: SKIPPPPPPPPP
#14: I got kind of bored with the Stolen Turnabout. It wasn't all that interesting until Delite came along, and while it did pick up from there, I'm not as big a fan of it as others. The double jeopardy ending was great, though.
#13: I really am not a fan of this case. While it did have the adorable young Kay and Franziska, and gave us Tyrell Badd, I just found it really boring. I didn't care about the KG-8 Incident, it's obvious that Gumshoe will be proven innocent, and Calisto Yew wasn't really interesting until the end and the next case. I don't hate it, but it's in my Top 3 least favorite cases.
#12: Turnabout Trump is easily my favorite first case. The villain isn't obvious right away, we get to be a rookie again, Phoenix is the defendant, the new gameplay mechanic is introduced, and the actual villain's reveal was great.
#11: I guess that Memories is my second favorite first case, but I don't have much to say about it. Young Mia is cute, the main villain is introduced, and young is Phoenix is adorkable.
The Forgotten Turnabout has to be in the Top 10 because he rated it higher than Turnabout Reminiscence in the last video. Otherwise, tsk tsk ;)

20: one of the redeaming factors of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. the entire finale of the case is downright depressing will the letter and Maya's "death"
19: My least favorite case from investigation. The main complement I give this case is the uses of little thief and the victim being the real criminal
18: I FREAKING LOVE THIS CASE. It is your opinion but this case is the perfect reason I love Ace Attorney. Super memorable characters, insane twists. and the need to think of you next move carefully near the end
17: Great case but a little too short. Also you have the Judge's brother. :)
16: another reason i hate investigations. So many tedious tasks throughout the entire case. you say Rise from the ashes is long, at least it had plot twist throughout compared to fining like 4 smuggling routes.
15: Great finale to the game along with combining ace attorney and layton puzzles seamlessly. the main complaint I have is the final plot twist comes way to early and the rest of the case involving the legendary fire was uninteresting.
14: I feel this is the real kick off to t&t. Luke Atmey is one of my personal favorite villains with his riddler like cockiness and shocking cleverness in the finale. has some evil puzzles in it though.
13: the best case in investigations hands down. one of the more impressive8 parts of this case is how it is integrated into the whole story without being random. *cough* turnabout beginnings *cough*
12: Great case but I still don't love Apollo Justice. It has some great puzzles in it but the story wasn't that fantastic. I feel they don't build up Kristoph enough for it to be a super surprising lot twist.

I don't hate the game, it's just one of my least favorites.
I wasn't fond of a lot of the writing in the game, I didn't like most of the villains, I didn't really like the first case, and the 2nd case is my least favorite in the whole series.
It's fine if you like the game and consider it your favorite, there were just too many things that didn't appeal to me.
Turnabout Randon I will agree case two does suck but you have to admit that turnabout big top and serenade are worse. those are the only ones I really felt were like a waste of my time.

I feel that the great witch trial from PLvsPW should have been higher. I mean, I also think some of the choices from T&T being placed higher than they perhaps should have, been due to the obvious bias toward said game. Don't get me wrong, Trials and Tribulations was an amazing game, but perhaps not the near perfect game it seems made out to be.
To sum this spiel up, I personally feel that the great witch trial was better than the stolen turnabout which I feel was worse than turnabout memories. BUT, I agree with him (on memories being better than stolen) purely because of when Payne was rekt.
