Thanks so much for your feedback! I completely agree-it’s something I’ll definitely keep in mind for future videos. When you’re creating content, some details can slip through the cracks, but as I keep improving, I’ll make sure to include product links to make things easier for viewers like you. Appreciate the suggestion!
Yeah 😅 It’s a wireless microphone I use for client content with a Lav microphone attached Normally I do clip it on or use an external microphone 🎙️ but felt like mixing it up But as always I really appreciate the feedback helps me create better content
Oh wow that’s quite a lot I took mine to Greece this summer and managed on one battery a day But like most things it totally depends how you shoot with the camera Maybe I should do a video talking about how I shoot with mine?
I have a 1/2 case (Small Rig)with the clever supply short strap. Love it! Similar set up on my Sony A7C. I twirl the strap a few time around my wrist and its a great way to carry a small camera like these. They look awesome 🔥
Sounds like an awesome setup! I’ve heard great things about the SmallRig cases and Clever Supply straps-they seem like a perfect combo for cameras like the X100VI and A7C. Wrapping the strap around your wrist is such a practical way to carry these smaller cameras, and I agree, they do look great! Always nice to hear from someone with a similar approach to keeping things compact and stylish.
Hey Cal! :) Thanks for your work, it helps a lot. I have the option to buy silver and black as well. I really like the black, but even with the protective gear, I'm afraid that the top will get scratched easily because of the black color. What is your experience? Of course I would take care of it, but the devil never sleeps. Thanks a lot :)
Hey firstly thank you so much for the message I definitely understand your concerns. I had the same fears when I first bought this camera as this was the first camera I’ve ever bought new. And whilst I know a few other creators have had issues with paint peeling, et cetera in hot weather So far, I haven’t had any scratches or imperfections with my camera Of course I keep it in the half of the case at all time But I am constantly pulling in and out bags putting it in drawers and it’s a workhorse camera so I’m definitely not being too careful with it However it’s holding up extremely well although I will say I think unless you’re planning on reselling the camera in the future a few scratches bumps et cetera only adds to the character and look of the camera in my opinion anyway.
The other note about the soft shutter button is that if you drop the camera (like I did) not very far. A foot on to a wood counter top, it can damage the shutter easily. Like mine was lol and that's 400 bucks and 2-3 weeks of being without your camera whilst it's being repaired so. Unless you got a worst strap on. Don't get it. Even then I've heard of it getting bumped in a bag and breaking.
I think the (more expensive) Lexar cards are not needed here at all. The camera only supports UHS-I, the one mentioned should be UHS-II. You won't get any benefit from that extra performance the card is capable of.
Yes, you are correct. This is a constraint of the X100 VI. However, given the cost of SD cards, I think trying to FUTUREPROOF yourself if possible is never a bad thing So for me personally these SD cards I also use for filming in other cameras and obviously UHS - II is needed there really But I fully appreciate the point and I thank you for the comment
Definitely understand your point of view here, For me it’s trying to find the balance between talking head and B roll But if their is a particular product you were considering Im happy to advise as best as possible or create a more in depth video maybe?
Haha I totally hear you, I also do like them but the fact they can come off so easily, made them annoying for me But I totally get why people like them
Well at this moment in time the small rig version is the only one I have tried, Do you have any better alternatives, I would like to investigate some other alternatives potentially.
I think a link to the accessories would be great. It makes it easier to do the research and to quickly get the accessories you used.

You should get one of those mics that clips on to your shirt so you don't have to hold it with your hand. You'd be able to hold up five fingers then.
Haha the funny thing is the mic is question is actually a Lav mic 🎙️
But I’ll definitely think about it for future content
Thanks for the suggestion 😊
@@cal_takes_photos Really?!
Yeah 😅

it's a Gen Z TikTok trend
First i need the camera
You have no idea the countless amount of UA-cam videos I watched about accessories for this camera before I even bought it
Funny enough, I just got most of these accessories a few days ago and just found your video today! Super excited to get it all and start shooting!
That’s great to hear, out of curiosity which accessory did you pick up?
I hope you get some super photos with it
@ I bought the neewer black mist, the small rig thumb rest (and grip), and the peak design strap!
Sounds amazing hope you like all those products!
@ thank you! I’m really excited to re-spark my love for creating after doing it for so long for work.
Love to see some of the photos you take
I went through 3+ batteries a day when I took a trip to Portugal. If you are shooting while Traveling then having extra batteries is essential.
Oh wow that’s quite a lot

Smallrig thumb grip comes with a wonderful shutter button Try a drop of blue loctite if find it falls off
Yeah if I ever decide to buy more of them I’ll definitely give this trick a try thank you 🙏

Hey, what monitor is this behind you?
Hey thanks for the message it’s a 27" Samsung ViewFinity S80PB
A drop of Blue Loctite solves the shutter button problem. I've used it on my XPro 3 and Nikon Zf.
Definitely didn’t think of that but could work!
Brilliant 👌
Thank you

Oh ye I never even thought about what would happen if you dropped it
That’s a very valid point
Thanks for mentioning it!
Amazing
Thank you

Good video really, but i was kinda expecting to see a bit more visuals to see the accessories more up close and in detail to consider buying them
Definitely understand your point of view here,

Clip the mic to your shirt. Your voice is dipping in and out and it makes it hard to engage with what you’re saying. Or at least hold it still.
Yeah that mistake has now been learned haha
But I always appreciate the message and support so thank you 🙏
The smallrig thumb grip is trash
Well at this moment in time the small rig version is the only one I have tried,
Do you have any better alternatives, I would like to investigate some other alternatives potentially.
It fits loose and just wiggles sideways and
out. Looks cool though!
Well I have to say in my experience so far the small rig one hasn’t had a fault
But maybe I’ve just been lucky?
True maybe I've been unlucky, but the fit is very very loose on mine so I baulked.
The squarehood products are expensive, but beautifully made.
Yeah I would like to investigate other products in the future that are more premium
Might be a good idea for a video
