    The Thumb grip from smallrig is far better than the one you‘ve shown. Every button is easily accessible and the dial is located under the grip rather than next to it as with your grip.
    Also, I can highly recommend the Everyday filter by PolarPro in the 1/4 strength. It‘s a 2-in-1 filter combining a polarizer and a mist filter.

    Very useful. Two other great accessories are the Fuji case. Expensive but beautifully made and I keep the bottom half on as basic protection. The small rig L shaped handle (aluminium grip) is superbly comfortable and protects the base of the camera. As a Canon DSLR and M5 user, I find the thin grip of the VI a little too slippery, even with a thumb grip. Fear of a drop…..
    Finally, I agree on the peak design red attachments. I only keep one on the left hand side now for the PD cuff as on the right it just gets in the way of many control dial. However, it’s easy to add back on when I want a full PD strap. I do like the look of your alternative.

  • @MrPetteriS
    @MrPetteriS 7 днів тому

    Hi James, what about issues raised on Amazon regarding Hood and UV filter, which seems to be just too close to the camera lens itself and because of this you will get a ‘focus error’ message that freezes your camera whenever an object being focused on is too close to you. This is quite a serious fault as it has the potential to damage your camera lens. Can you pls share your point of view?

    • @JamesReader
      @JamesReader  7 днів тому +1

      Hey! I’ve heard of people having issues, there are different versions of the hood floating around, I can only vouch for the one I linked originally which doesn’t seem to be sold by NiSi any more. I’ve used my particular one for over a year with no focus issues.

    Hi. Thanks so much for the info. Great video and great ideas. I ordered a Long Weekend Pouch for my X1006. But alas it won't fit now that I have fitted a Nisi UHD UV Filter Hood on mine and ordered the Smallrig L-Shaped Grip. It just fits with the Nisi Hood but only just! Definitely won't squeeze in with the Smallrig Grip attached as well. I like the Tenba V2 4 pouch you look at here. It's hard for me to tell if there is any room in there! Can you tell me if there mine with those accessories would fit in your Tenba pouch please. It's hard to go by their dimension online as you can't tell if there is any stretch room as such. Cheers and thanks for the video!

    • @JamesReader
      @JamesReader  5 місяців тому

      Hey Brett! The Tenba pouch is quite a snug fit with the X100 6 and the NiSi hood attached, which is to be fair what I was looking for in a pouch dedicated to protecting the camera in a backpack. I haven't got the Smallrig L shaped grip to confirm for sure but I feel that it would probably fit (again quite snugly) Do you have a link to the exact L grip you have? I'll try and order it and find out for you if it fits.
