Today we say goodbye to the beans. They have served us well but it was time to add proper animated models for the enemies. It was a long journey (Somehow two years!) to get them into the game and looking good, but it's finally done. I learnt a lot about making custom editor tools in Unity, as well as making Unity packages themselves, which is nice. There is still a lot more to do, but I'm really happy with how things turned out. Hope you enjoyed this devlog!
I am making this game using Unity & HDRP. The game is set in World War I, and the gameplay is inspired by horde games like Call of Duty Zombies - i.e. a round-based co-op zombie shooter. The visuals are inspired by Battlefield I.

I know it’s been four months but so much improvement I love keeping up with your game logs also something I think you can honor the beans by adding a secret code area on an object l like a beer bottle and you insert code BEAN4EVER and all the zombies become beans for 5 minutes

This reminds me of a WWI zombie flash game called "Carveola Incident", that game creeped me out as a kid with its vintage atmosphere, the zombie civilians and soldiers, and eerie music. I def look forward to this game!
I love these devlogs so much. It really a shining example of development of games, reusing and recycling existing assets, making new ones, improvising as you go along and overall learning more about game dev the entire process. Quite honestly, I do no think there is a better way to learn any type of software development other than doing things yourself, figuring out what works and what doesn't and why things work the way they do.
a better way to make the map more atmospheric is add random streams of black smoke rising into the air in random spots, the sky darker and more stormy and cloudy, less sunny, and maybe in the future if you want, could possibly even add hiding spots for zombies to pop out of to cause more challenge.
i get so excited for these devlogs and enjoy them a lot! keep up the good work

map idea: what if we make a map like Tranzit. we repair a tank and ride it to different areas. (in the setting/place/area he is using for his game)

The game looks really awesome! Would be cool to see like killstreak medals pop up when you hit a certain killstreak to make the game feel even more satisfying.
I have much respect for you to still doing this. I always lost motivation halfway through and stopped eventually.

Thank you for the inspiration! I've been working on a game for the past 3 months, I actually make my own models; so thats taken the majority of the time up so far. Awesome development! That game is really getting awesome! I have a idea what you could add: A bunker with these machine guns that they killed zombies on that test map, and you can with a amount of points buy this bunker but if you use it too long the zombies could get to you and kill you.

@@obrooks I wish listed, don't know if I will buy the game depending on price because alot of the indie solo developer games end up costing like 30 dollars AUD and not being a full or finished game, which I get your paying to support the developer but being 15 years old I don't have that type of money lmao. If your game is really good or like 10-20$ i'd proabably buy.
A problem with expensive multiplayer indie games is also its hard to get a playerbase however cosmetic monetisation is kind of a gamble and I doubt youtube money could pay for servers.

This looks awesome! Great work on everything! It could look cool if some of the zombies would crawl. This would allow for people to have to aim in a variety of different locations instead of just one general area to mow down all the zombies. Keep up the good work!

Glad im not the only one to imagine the idea of WW1 Zombies being a thing. Had a whole idea thought out for a cod waw zombies map thing. (i dont know crap about modeling or map making so nothing beyond MS paint map has been done)
