Jim Ladd! He's such a great interviewer! Always has a ton of great and insightful questions. I wish he got more credit as an interviewer, he's fantastic. Also this interview proves Roger doesn't hate God or religion, he hates how people use religion to justify wars, violence, and discrimination.
As a Christian, I can't find anything to disagree with in his criticism of organised religion. Even Jesus pushed back against the hypocritical religious orthodoxy of the time.

Ladd does an original monologue in "Waiting for the Worms" on Billy Sherwood's complete _Wall_ tribute album _Backs to the Wall_. Where it would normally be Roger holding the bullhorn while the exact same old rant from the album is played, Jim Ladd starts with a different monologue. I remember "You have the right to STAY STUPID!"
Re music vids, too true. Music reduced to wallpaper. I find them even worse -- they reduce the musical poetry (ie, lyrics plus melodies plus accompaniments) into pseudo artistic clichés for morons, just like kiddies picture books do to real live animals in the wild. JUST LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, FEEL THE MUSIC. THAT GIVES YOU THE IMAGERY, whatever imagery your own mind conjures up. It's a wank, just a by product of TV culture. I think most video performers are just frustrated actors, wannabe film stars, pretentious filmmakers. Just play your music to the sound recorder and then fuck off home. I'll buy the album and then see you at the live gigs, ok?

The issue is that Jesus didn't write an autobiography.. Its a story told by MANY others that conflict. The only 'wrong' is when a person says, No, only THIS is what it means. Which is crazy on the face of it. But there are many different Jesus' and christians. Much of dogmatic christianity is Paulist, not Christian. THere is stuff jesus said, then stuff people came after said, and i'm not even sure why ANYBODY would listen to what people said who knew little about what Jesus said.
