Thanks, Nick! Yeah... and I'm barely on it. Not even in race mode because I'm scared of the rain lol! I got good practice this time, though. Getting more comfortable in the wet.
Thanks! Love this car. I have another track event coming up this weekend. I haven't made any real changes to the car other than improved my brakes a bit. I'll be posting more vid of me on this track some time next week. Maybe by the time my November track event comes up I'll have the Squadra Massimo tune on the car which should really bring it to life.
I'm thinking to get this car as a daily and for the track days; so I subscribe to follow your journey and to see what I will need to upgrade. Breaks first! It's a heavy car for track. But fun one!
Hi. Thanks for the comment and for subscribing! This is my second QV. I made the terrible mistake of getting rid of my first one in 2019 and I basically whined and complained so much over two years that my wife MADE me get another one! So I got this one January of this year. As for brakes, I bought mine with the Carbon Ceramic option... 390mm front rotors and 360mm rear. Much better than the steel option which, as you stated, is very under-braked. However, since I track mine so much, I've swapped my Carbon Ceramic rotors for the Girodisc iron replacements: www.girodisc.com/With-Carbon-Ceramic-Brakes_c_1586.html I run these with Raybestos ST43 compound pads and they're great on track! My next event is November 28, but I think I'm going to cancel. Why? Well... my car ran so well at my last event ( ua-cam.com/video/4AQVvSo9zSg/v-deo.html ) that I've decided to do some major customization to it so that I can carry more speed in the corners. The QV is seriously lacking front camber. I also prefer a square wheel/tire setup for the track, but normally there's no good way to do this. However, with the help of some enthusiasts over on the Giulia Forums ( www.giuliaforums.com/ ) I've managed to get in touch with Jay O'Connell of O'Connell Car Development. He's a race engineer, as in, for example, he supports IMSA teams. He's customizing my front upper control arms so that I can get up to -4.0* camber and run the OE rear wheel/tire size up front (10" wrapped in up to 285s). This simple modification should allow me to shave another 2-4 seconds off my Road Atlanta lap time. Excited! Pulling off my front Upper Control Arms this weekend!! Stay tuned :)
Thanks! Yeah... I can't believe how good she sounds with my exhaust being totally stock. And THIS is in Dynamic mode, not Race Mode (because of the rain). In a few weeks I think I'm going to spring for the Squadra tune. This will eliminate the cylinder deactivation, invert the start/stop feature, add a little power, and change the exhaust silencer behavior so that I get the race mode sound in other modes. I'll probably record when I do the ECM removal / installation and boost diverter valve upgrades so that anyone curious can see how it's done.
yeah man one reason I wanted to get to instructor is for rain, I used to weather watch!! I would only commit about 7-10days out. although still not thrilled about running windows down in the rain. I may just instruct then
Nice! I have a Verde Visconti Stelvio Ti Lusso Q4 and we (wife and I) love it! I've been making some changes to it with thoughts of running it at Road Atlanta for the fun of it. Wife is starting to suspect something (she drives it daily) 😂 I just love Alfa Romeo lol!!
Just looked at your Stelvio vids (subscribed, too). NICE! Yellow calipers like ours! photos.app.goo.gl/pUnZZskJqBdJDXdw6 The only option it didn't come with were the paddles, so I added them myself: www.stelvioforum.com/threads/added-paddle-shifters-to-my-2021-verde-visconti-stelvio-ti-lusso.16238/#post-159052
Such a glorious sound 🤤🤤
