Yep, I'm a 2009 kid and I got the Wii in 2012. Literally when the Wii U released.
I still have very fond memories of me and my parents playing it. We especially played Frisbee Golf and Table Tennis. It also kinda helped my dad with his Parkinson's disease, back when it was still kinda manageable. It's so disappointing that the disc drive broke. At least I can still play it on Wii U

I recently found my uncle's old wii, hacked it for the first time, and i had a blast, super easy to hack, so many things to do, got me enntertained for months, i recoommend you hacking it too

So happy my “I played the most with my sister growing up” review was included for Wii bowling. That game means so much to me because it was always a way for us to bond, no mater what was going on.
It's shocking to see Nintendo Switch Sports Soccer so low. It's actually very popular in the Japanese Sports community. Lots of very high ranked people in it. I also think it could give Nintendo a way to make their own Rocket League.

I can’t believe wakeboarding scored so low, it’s one of my favorite sports in the series. I guess my opinion is just in the minority 😅

Yeah I really like both water sports! For wakeboarding in particular, there's a surprising amount of nuance regarding WHEN to jump off the wave to keep up your combo.
I can’t believe cycling scored higher than it! Wakeboarding is my 3rd favorite sport on resort

One thing that made the older Wii Sports games more special were that Miis from the system appeared in the background. Sometimes even in the team. That's what also made the baseball so special to me.
It is sad that they decided to try to replace Miis in Switch Sports, but at least we can still play with them. That's something I guess...

Ngl I'm pretty sure that the reason why Chambara ranked 11th instead of higher is because it lacks a horde mode

@@Jeeve77not really the Wii is 16 (near 17) years old. Just as an estimation if they were born 3 years into the Wii’s life span they could be a Teen (13) or it’s possible that they just never bothered to get it for themselves because their dad already had one.

I am so happy that both Wii Sports Resort Swordplay and Bowling came in the top 3. Those two are my most played sports ever in that game. I have only played that game, but still. The memories just keeps coming.😊

Table Tennis is soooo good. Probably the most technical sport of them all. There’s so many tricks and techniques to master. It is imo the best representation of a motion controlled game that rewards skill before all else.
Yeah, and it's VERY different in feel from actual tennis. Higher intensity to the sport's advantage.
table tennis has always been my favourite because of how technical it is. if you are also a fan of golf then resort golf is by far the greatest experience out of the four
What I don't understand is that switch sports badminton has the same feel to the controls and is similarly fast paced and yet doesn't seem to be very popular. It's my favourite next to tennis in switch sports! But I guess not as many people have played it.
3:56 Oh hey that’s me. I never really liked any version of boxing because of how wonky the punching felt. With the introduction of the Wii Motion Plus I thought it would feel better, but nope.
Also I think people were overly harsh on golf. I don’t like real life golf, but I think the Wii golf games are honestly pretty chill (helps that you don’t have to go out and get your ball), and the added precision the Resort and Switch Sports versions have makes it feel even better.
Wii Sports was my first video game ever, and Bowling was the first mode I played with my parents. So much nostalgia for those little Miis…
Can't believe baseball is so low, it's one of my favorites just because I always love seeing which Miis each team gets.
Real sad frisbee wasn’t higher, I always thought the controls were brilliant, it felt like actually throwing a frisbee to me, and I love the dog gamemode where you have to try and curve the frisbee through the balloon and still hit the target

I've never played Wii sports,I've only heard memes and the fact that the late queen loved it.
Swordplay and Air Sports are my favorites
I have so many fond memories of fighting my brother with a sword, even if I was just wildly swinging the wii remote around. It was always a good time. And when I was old enough to actually understand how to properly play, I loved the showdown mode so much. I still play it to this day! One time me and my brother were recently dragged to someone's house by our dad. We stayed upstairs the whole time after finding out they had Wii Sports Resort up there. We played for hours, even without our miis
I'm not actually sure if I've played air sports, but I would watch my brother fly around the island in a plane. It's like how I love Mario Galaxy even if I haven't played much. I still have so many good memories, and Wii Sports Resort will always have a place in my heart

When I used to have a Wii I’d invite a friend over to play Wii Sports bowling. Just bowling. Wonderful :)
I went bowling on Friday and threw my ball backwards by accident and, on instinct, *I* did the spin thing from the Wii Sports bowling when you throw the ball backwards.
Bowling is brilliant.

OMG this is soo unfair, even if you personally don't like golf, Wii Sports golf is actually really good, there are not many games with such a good feeling yet accessible controls.
I wish they didn't ditch the Miis and the island :/

I'm honestly surprised to see Wakeboarding so low, it was always really fun just to do a bunch of tricks.
Golf is my favorite but it's also my favorite sport in real life, I understand why a lot of people don't like it lol... Resort is definitely the best version of it though!
Canoeing is amazing when your grandma and great aunt play together and manage to travel -15 yards while shouting things like, "Paddle, you old bat!" at each other.

I actually loved Wii Sports Golf, it feels almost intuitive.
It's not sensitive enough for small movements when putting, so I prefer Switch Sports Golf
I love the original WII sports bowling and the Switch Sports bowling, volleyball, and tennis because I just have so many fun memories playing them with my family

We used to play with sports bowling, my brother was that good he got a strike while not even looking at the screen ( he left the room and went up the stairs of our house). My big sister was raging. It was so funny.
Im suprised people dislike golf so much, i liked it as a kid. I put frisbee from wii sports resort as my least favourite sport but forgot how janky and bad power cruising was! I remeber playing island flyover as a kid with ny sister and we would take turns playing 😄. Nintendo definitely got it right with wii sports tho, maybe it was including a disk with every copy of the wii and it being such a simple but fun game that anyone can pick up and play and understand.
I loved Resort Golf, but Club Golf's forced Game Pad integration just made things needlessly frustrating.
OG Golf is fun, but Resort Golf is just that but with improved controls and more clubs to work with (even with a proper 18-hole mode).
Wii Sports Resort was the first ever game I played, and man I played it constantly! It holds a special place in my heart, but my favourite sports were table tennis, swordplay and, controversially, golf. It really started my chronic Wii addiction for a few years!
i can't believe baseball scored over EVERY golf game i have never been able to get baseball to work. some kinda weird gyro thing i can never figure out--and i'm generally pretty good at figuring out how gyro works in games so i can use it the laziest way possible lol
Yeah, I'm really baffled at these results, though I'm inclined to believe them. Baseball feels like it's only exists because it's popular in Japan, whereas golf clearly lends itself to the technology, even if the sport itself doesn't appeal to you at first.
I'm also shocked at how Club Golf was done dirty here.
I can only imagine people just didn't give these minigames a chance.

Golf was done dirty. I used to not like golf, but it was because of this one Canadian UA-camr named RelaxAlax that I gave Mario Golf a chance and ended up loving it! Wii Sports golf, though not as good as Mario Golf, is still a very quality game!
wii sports resort is the best ever, and i have the best memories from sword fighting!!
I feel like the only reason the sports versions of each sport got so high is nostalgia, there is literally no reason to put the original game's disk in for anything other than boxing because resort has more responsive versions of the same games and way more (plus swordplay which is god tier)

Wii sports club and switch sports just didn't have as much charm as the original 2 games. The first 2 felt like they were taking place in the 50s, especially bowling.
Oh wow! This was a fast turn around time for a video! I always love answering these surverys. I actually feel like I'm actually contributing to something and I get to see the results unlike big company surverys where I don't know what they'll do with the information.
I'm surprised people even play Switch Sports, it's definitely not Wii Sports that was revolutionary imo and included with a Wii.
Island Flyover is sooo good, I remember trying to collect all the stamps and spending hours on it.
Watching this video, I remembered what I loved about Resort Air Sports. I found the precision needed for the flying controls challenging, but I couldn't stop playing. I wanted to get all the points of interest!
You can ask somebody who's 90 if they've played Wii Sports Bowling and they'd probably say yes. Bowling was such a universally enjoyed experience and is one of the only video games to date that my family (parents especially) would get excited to play!
Here's a fact I just learned from Bulbapedia, of all places: apparently, baseball is _so_ popular in Japan that, during baseball season, the Pokémon animé would _completely_ go on pause and be replaced by baseball coverage on TV Tokyo. So that might explain why they put baseball in Wii Sports-it would've been strange not to.

Though I do want to add my input about what sports to include from Resort. I felt like the modes that have a pretty different feel from the other would be separate from each other. Like the frisbee ones and the air sports with skydiving and the flying modes. Either way, it was really fun to see how the rankings would go.

Tho I play a lot of Sports Resorts games I still go back to Wii Sports to play Tennis, Baseball and Boxing.
Resorts it just more interesting to play and look at cause they fill the world of wuhu island with some of your miis in the console, so you might see your family's miis in the challenges you do and thats just a nice touch.
Never owned a Wii, but when I was on my aunt's wii I was either playing mario kart wii or wii sports resort swordplay showdown. Mowing through all the Miis feels so satisfying, but it's never a mindless game as you need to think about every guard and strike you commit to to succeed in winning. It's just good

For real, people just aren't nostalgic for it but it's a pretty damn good game
the fact that switch soccer ranked so low makes me question my own opinion. its one of my FAVORITE games in the entirety of switch sports. I think its because any time i get the chance to play, i always tend to play with my sister, and its just funny to scream at the tv about messing up the shot, and spam the "here!" callout just to be goofy.

The swordplay was definitely my favorite sport to play with archery coming in second. I only played Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. I never heard of Club, and the Switch version didn't seem like it'd be enjoyable without the Wii charm.

I remember playing Swordplay Showdown and seeing how far I could get by just swinging my sword as fast as I could. Good times, maybe even the best.

I played the original and Resort a lot growing up. I heard of the new Switch game, but I've never heard of the Wii U Club game before. I guess it wasn't pushed as heavily as the previous 2 games

I have heard at least 4 Brits speak; Thomas Game Docs, EnglishSimmer, DuckDan (husband of Kayla Sims a.k.a. lilsimsie), and Clayton "Clay" Reeves from NCIS, and one Scottish person, Former Chief Medical Examiner turned NCIS Historian Dr. Donald "Ducky" "Duck" Horatio Mallard played by the late David Keith McCallum. I've also heard 2 Australians speak, and these two also _live_ together _and_ they're *_dating_* and those two are James Turner, Formerly known as TheSimSupply, and Deligracy. That's at least the Brits and Australians I can think of. I've heard more Australians through NCIS: Sydney, but since I've not even finished watching the series premiere, I won't count them, besides, I can't remember their names, on screen or off it, so they don't count. I've heard too many Americans to count, but one of them is lilsimsie, whose last name is SIMS, and she's LITerally *_playing_* her family's *_last name!_*

I'd find a ranking off Mario Party Side Game Modes cool. Not the minigames, but those gamemodes like Volleyball (I loved those team names depending on the character combinations haha), or that Microphone Adventure in Mario Party 6 for example. Overall I feel like those are rarely talked about/appreciated!
I can't help but feel like Swordplay single-handedly inspired Skyward Sword's gameplay...

I'm mildly surprised about the order of the games for the original one (I never owned the others). I liked golf well enough, but I can admit that it slowed things down. Boxing would have been my bottom pick because it just felt kind of random at times, and I never really got the hang of baseball. But yeah, of course bowling rocked! Especially when you accidentally let go on the back swing and the crowd is shocked and jumps over the ball.

it’s ironic to see golf rank fairly low as it’s the most loved sport for speedrunning, but the overall rankings still check out. always had more fun with other sports like bowling as a kid personally

Basketball has only been out for a week, so I don’t really know how you could make an opinion.
Haven't even touched it yet, but I wonder how it compares in feel compared to the original Resort's Basketball. Especially given the change to a 2v2 format and each player controlled individually.
Wakeboarding being that low is a crime. How can you not enjoy it when the guy is cheering you on?
I actually liked Power Cruising a bit, but I wish it had a proper racing mode against CPUs as a nod to the Wave Race games (since it's likely we're never getting a new one).
Also, something tells me that fishing would have actually made sense in Resort.
