I just tried the stems using the assigned sampler pads and it worked like a charm. I tested it out and had such a wonderful time. I already created a mix using the stems and wow. The ability to control a track and the ease of transitions just make DJing fun!! Another level of playing.
thank you for the inside info...I am still doing gigs a few times a month and still having fun.....I started playing using 7 inch singles back in 1978...and now still spinning using a Pioneer Rekordbox player....I was using Cortex previously....Pioneer bought over Cortex 20 years ago...

That MAY be possible with proper Midi mapping, we just haven't had time to dive into that too deeply yet. You can definitely map the FX splitting, ISO EQs etc when you dig into the Midi mappings, but this video is the simple ways to get started ✔️
Easiest way to separate out the lyrics to deck 2 from playing on deck 1 is to drag and drop the green vocal button from deck 1 on deck 2. It moves the vocals to deck 2 and keeps it playing in sync.Under the hood it's just loading the track again and muting drums and instrumental..that's the double click feature on the flx10...couldn't figure out how to map that to a pad button.
I just switched a week ago to a new M1 Max Macbook Pro from a Macbook pro 2012 Mid which is still working amazing and I will keep it as a backup. However, this evening finished to configure Rekordbox with all the playlist and setting, but this stem mapping was missing. Very helpful video. Thank you very much!
I struggled with the midi mapping since RB 6.7 came out. For some reason, the sampler play modes weren't exposed :/ But with your PAD trick, everything worked! I wanted to drop in an additional trick for fellow DDJ-1000 users. Once you have the pads mapped to stems, you can inst double a track, mute vocals on the first deck, then mute drums and inst on the other, set the fx channel to the first deck, BOOM you have the equivalent of those round stem fx buttons ;)
i use ddj 1000 and i still find my sync fuction difficult to use can u kindly share me your instagram or twitter handle so we can communicate about this
Update: I was able to get the Rekordbox stems to work on my laptop, however there isn't a way yet to get anything set up on the controller itself, I do not have the PAD or Midi option to choose from. I'm thinking there has to be be some type of midi mapping that I will need after all. I'm not giving up just yet. So far I will say, playing on the laptop, although limiting, it's cool to see this feature is finally available for Rekordbox. I'm hoping they will vamp it up so that we can actually use it on our controllers 🙂
I have easily managed to program various fuction on my midi APC Mini, I think this can work with all midi controllers with button and sliders (you can program the percetage of the stems) I have assigned 3 sliders, and it works. I hope that the quality of the stems will improve, it needs memory but a new laptop should handle if it has 8 or more GB of ram (without chrome open).
It's funny, but within hours of the FLX10 release there were a plethora of DDJ1000's for sale on my local used DJ gear network. All clamoring for a new bit of functionality that can easily be midi mapped onto their existing hardware. Gear Acquisition Syndrome strikes again!
Very cool and quite simple, once you know how. Thinking of flx 10 as I only do 3 or 4 events a year. I have Traktor s4 mk3 at moment and although it’s a lot of fun I do miss Tidal and also I have Gigbar lighting. Flx 10 could be the one. Have to learn new software though 😭😭
I'm using Traktor (S2 and S4 Mk2's) and Rekordbox DJ (DDJ-800, DJM-S7, a pair of XDJ-700's). Grab a subscription to Lexicon DJ for a month. Convert your library and playlists from Traktor to Rekordbox and the rest is history for library transfer.
Mapping the buttons is very easy, you can map anything you want. Also midi controllers like APC mini can be mapped as a pad controller, but I am thinking how you can map the build in fuction of the flx-10, adjusting the volume of the stems, because the stems in rekordbox need time to become better.

And what can be done to improve rekordbox's performance and speed, given that the CPU is a bit higher when using stems?.. Thank you.
You’re probably the best person to ask. I have a FLX - 10. If I move the jog wheel on deck, one it triggers the stems on deck for to toggle on and off. Which is a huge problem if you are scratching or moving the jog wheel on deck one while deck floor is playing. I thought it was a hardware issue and got another FX 10 and it still does it. Any possible solution?
Interesting, have you tried just waiting a few seconds? (There's a "progress bar" you can see when loading a track that shows how far the track analysis has gone - it takes a few seconds to analyse each track).
Can you route each pad (instrument section) to different outputs? This way we can assign outputs to different speakers. Creating something similar to 3D audio like Atmos… but for live events

I have tried to switch between Editor, Export, Performance Modes, etc and still can't get Extensions to appear as an option. Do you know what may be the problem?

HELP! Once I assign the STEMS to my sampler pads on the FLX4 how do I keep them there? I don’t see an “enter” button. When I close out I lose the stems and have to re-assign them.
Keep in mind, DDJ-FLX4 is not compatible with Pad Editor. Pad Editor can only be used with models that have a page button and can output MIDI for 16 pads.

After getting the new RK to download, install after not using it for 2 years. Sorted out the stems and other options. Chucked a tune into my DDJ 1000 and was very disappointed by the sound. It’s way below par & no way I could ever use the sound in my sets. I’ll stick with VDJ. Far superior quality but even the sound from VDJ is just ok. Still not usable IMO.
As a DDJ-FLX6GT user, is there any way of mapping the track separation to the EQ knobs, so that you can slowly introduce the drums to the track? I don't want to lose the EQ knobs' current function and the only way I can figure it out is to play the same song on 2 channels, 1 with just drums and 1 without the drums and turn the volume up on the drum-only track.
I pretty sure you can do that in virtual dj, if you click underneath the eq knobs on the mixer panel it will change from eq mid low high to stems h/hat ,mel/vox ,kick
hi, i like you shows.. nice work.. i am using djay pro on ipad pro M1 and works nicly, but started with rekordbox with the flix4 but notesd that i am missing controls like quantiseze butoon. or scratch on/off. so i wanted to add an other m idi controller like ONE TOUCHE BEHINGER and in ipad pro one can only use 1 controller. but on pc it workd oke tegether with flx4, on ipad no go there with rekordboxd but.. it can be done with DJAY PRO. I also have an NOVATION LAUCH XL mixer witch i also can add on djay pro en map all settings where i whant it... rekordbosx on IPAD no go anymore becasue of tthat limitation.. it would be so n ice if the wiould implanted that to..

I can only use the stems from my laptop on my XZ the pad is grey out I cannot select it, I did all the updates of firmware, doesn't work. I don't use my laptop I prefer just USB why is not working for me???😢

I have a DDJ1000 and when I go into preferences, there is no "extensions" option - I get "lighting" "video" and "lyrics" but no "extensions" any ideas?
I play mostly classic dance and party songs in our format. Mostly live band type recordings...some poppy synthetic based tracks but not a ton ..my question is is this having an effect on the overall quality of tracks when enabled even if I'm not isolating any elements? My last 2 nights nights the audio has sounded off...I'm gonna disable for tonight and see what happens? I also feel like controller response to levels\playback has a very slight delay to it? Any feedback
So something else I did was flip flop the XLR. When I installed ddj flx 10 this past Sunday I think I crossed up the XLR. I don't use booth monitors and the dancefloor proximity still provides a noticeable stereo effect for my ears. So I was hearing a phase issue I think. I did disable the stems and the one thing that did seem better was board response. Hot cues and level control seemed like it was back to real time and not a millisecond behind
what would you pick: flx10 or rx3? i cant decide, cause my laptop is bad and the flx10 has rekordbox and serato supported, rx3 only rekordbox. flx10 also has these stems function which are really cool and with a stabdalone, one has to use the laptop, therefore its the same. what would you pick & why?

I'm getting an error "There is no analysis data for the track separation function."

If like me you're laptop or P.C doesn't have AVX it won't work.

We agree, it is nowhere near perfect yet - but they will improve it.

I can only use the stems from my laptop on my XZ the pad is grey out I cannot select it, I did all the updates of firmware, doesn't work. I don't use my laptop I prefer just USB why is not working for me???😢

I have the FLX6 and Rekordbox 6.7 but the pad windows is not enable, only midi mapping.
There is no Pad mode on the FLX6, you'll have to hit the Midi tab and do a full Midi mapping in that instance.
Can it be used with something as basic as the DJM 250? Or does it have to be a controller?
Do I have to buy the RMX effects package? Or what?
When I click the “cog” I do not have that “extensions” tab to enable the stems.

Do you have your software in Performance mode? Maybe it has to be a Rekordbox unlock DJ controller to activate the Extensions tab.

You need to connect a compatible DJ unit, it makes no sense otherwise as the point of the button is to let you alter the pad mode on the DJ equipment.

I play mostly classic dance and party songs in our format. Mostly live band type recordings...some poppy synthetic based tracks but not a ton ..my question is is this having an effect on the overall quality of tracks when enabled even if I'm not isolating any elements? My last 2 nights nights the audio has sounded off...I'm gonna disable for tonight and see what happens? I also feel like controller response to levels\playback has a very slight delay to it? Any feedback

So something else I did was flip flop the XLR. When I installed ddj flx 10 this past Sunday I think I crossed up the XLR. I don't use booth monitors and the dancefloor proximity still provides a noticeable stereo effect for my ears. So I was hearing a phase issue I think. I did disable the stems and the one thing that did seem better was board response. Hot cues and level control seemed like it was back to real time and not a millisecond behind
what would you pick: flx10 or rx3? i cant decide, cause my laptop is bad and the flx10 has rekordbox and serato supported, rx3 only rekordbox. flx10 also has these stems function which are really cool and with a stabdalone, one has to use the laptop, therefore its the same. what would you pick & why?

That’s all well n good if you have rekordbox. What if your a Serato user?
Use Serato Stems, it is a built-in feature.
OK then Clever Clogs how do we map the 3 stems for the Effects then?
Ideally 3 pads below for effects Drums, effect Inst, and effects Vocal?
