In this video titled EU4 A to Z - The WORST Nation In EU4 Made Me RAGE QUIT I play as Ryukyu in Europa Universalis 4 1.37 Winds of Change. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Ryukyu and I attempt to conquer all of North America, not do the Three Mountains achievement in EU4... So, let's see if I managed to do it! then again, I haven't played them since 1.32 when you couldn't request to sell it, only have them request to buy it from you.
The Imperial Federation was an idea to fully integrate the 6 nations of the British Empire (Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa) into one as the empire entered decadence in the late 1800s, however India was excluded as it was a "colony" nation and not Anglican.
As Sadiya, conquer all of India, Australia & New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and of course Great Britain to get equal representation for India. Ideally become a parliamentary monarchy.

Don't cancel your tributary and take the -1 stab hit. Instead refuse to pay tribute until Ming breaks your tributary for free.
Also, as Ming tributary, Spain would be more reluctant to declare war... perhaps.

He didn't play other nations with de-facto unique ideas as Dai Viet, Blambangan, Muang Phuan and The Isles, so why he would make an exception for Solon?

10:40 there is a peace treaty that is called "annex migratory tribe" or something in the same tab with war reparations and other things. I am not sure what conditions trigger its presence there but it frankly allows you to annex these guys forever without them running away

Here's a dirty trick (shout-out to playmaker). Give land to Spain to peace out, it will go to colonial nation you fight alone later

watching the first half of the video seeing red hawk having fun not stressing and just colonizing stuff is like watching a horror movie and seeing the killer sneak up on a drunk teenager and not being able to tell them

The stuff you said at 10:30 about having to fight the natives 40,000 times for one province at a time no longer applies. You can go into the treaties section of the peace deal and select "Annex migratory tribe." and they stop existing.
The disconnected provinces were also "annex migratory tribes" peace deals.
Good to know, but i mean, it's one more province every 10 years. I don't see how this is bad. Just fight them and take it over and over again.
Ryukyu is a tricky start which puts your EUIV knowledge to the test, but there are several excellent strategies to get the snowball going. I did it with the shogun strategy myself a few years ago.

Yeah, i'd probably agree that getting all of NA is harder than just WCing. If you WC (and go the staying Ryuku route) you can quite easily get all of China near the 1530s. Then it's just a matter of hard pushing west and you can use the insane wealth of China to fund colonizing afterwards. Doesnt matter if you get a late start, you should outscale anyone quite easily, take their colonies and you can disperse AE over half the map.

@20:00 Should have stayed a Ming tributary. Make it less likely that the colonisers and their colonies declare on you.
10:57 The option "annex migratory tribe" completely wipes the tribe from the map and you still get the province. Take note that it costs more AE to do this but can be used to eliminate some factions which you cannot take normally (like inland nodes disconnected from you/your colonial nation. On a side note, if you do use this option make sure you have a colonial nation ready to take this province from you, since it may count towards overextension, still haven't figured why some provinces in the new world do that. Works on all nations in Australia and on most of the nations in North America with aztecs and such being immune ofc.
It gets OE when it is colonised at game start, if it isn't, then no OE.
That's why I hate colonising in America. It is always a race with the other nations and it is always a lot of stress. I rather annex the colonized provinces when I'm already the most powerful nation on earth and there's nothing else to do

Sadiya has a Rising Sun on their flag so you should conquer the territory of the Japanese Empire (Manchuria, Korea, Pacific Islands, and of course mainland Japan).

this is basically every game i play as an Asian nation trying to colonise North America. Spain always becomes insane.
Probably they get this random provinces via "Annex migrating tribe" (or sth like that) peace deal. It's strange that you don't do the same. Playing in new world it's hard without that future
Ryuku is only horrible because players feel the need to do the worst, most boring things in the game with it, BLOB massively. Not just blob massively, but on a time limit.
Its actually a fine, deceptively powerful nation because of its flexibility and isolation from any and all threats. Even the country you mentioned at the start, Ryazan is much worse for all the reasons you laid out. Early game RNG that decides if you even live, coupled with later mid game inflexibility in one of the poorest regions in the game not in the new world. Horrible.

@@andreysilva8418 Thats the wrong way to think about it. Ideas are just numbers. Think of the advantageousness (or lack thereof) of your starting position as a numerical buff in and of itself.
The most important thing thing to consider is that if you’re likely to lose before you have the opportunity to unlock even one idea, they were never really relevant.

the way i see it is that as ryukyu you have to go colonial as you can't attack anyone else, you also have no missions or flavor. it's just a downgraded Japan game.
@@Nickel_Eye Not really. There are strategy guides out there that lay out all of Ryuku’s expansion options. Only like one in four OPTIMAL world conquest intended paths (each literaly corresponding to the cardinal directions you’re so free to do as you please) is strictly colonial. West into Tibet. South into the Philipeans. North into the hordes OR Japan itself the later of which is easily accomplished with Mings help using some trickery. Finally east into Mexico investing fully into a colonial game.
Flavor is another subject not really relevant to how strong a country is. Ryukyu is not weak at all.
You needed either allies or vassals, or both. Switching catholic was an opportunity to get allies. Releasing vassals would have been more manpower to draw on and less admin needed.
Paradox's lazy programming of "Focus Player" is so annoying and why i stopped playing their games its draining having space marine ai, since everyone who plays the game to much keeps yelling at paradox that its not a challenge for their min/max builds, come and kick in your teeth whenever you want to do a fun small nation game
The timing of this video couldn't be more perfect! I just completed the Three mountains achivement yesterday through sheer determination, tediousness and lots and lots of pain!

I'm attempting the Three Mountains right now. All I can say, it's pain. pure pain.
Ryukyu is my current favorite nation to start as. Right now im playing a Ryukyu to Maya to Yuan run.
Forming Maya gives you emperor rank so you can become Yuan(or Machu to Qinq) without 1000 dev or being emperor of China. And the mayan religion is the best in the game.
The question about Alaska, is why I think you could do some formable nation series (I know it is closed, but it ciuld be fun to play as Alaska or other nations)
If you attack natives, you need to annex the tribe and do not take any province. If you take the provinces, they just move to another province around or to a province that have there native claim.
27:40 France annexed the tribes and do not take there provinces, thats why they got that without any connection to some provinces with cores.
For Sadiya, be a great power and have no rivals and have your neighbours have positive relations

Im doing my Three mountains run right now no cb one of the Tibetan Nations formed tibet became a horde and managed to get the Khaan achievement in 1601.
As Sadiya form Hungry, because I always get sad when I'm hungry.
Failiure always sucks, both for us and for you, but we both savour it for the other part, you know we will enjoy the gameplay, as you hopefully did, and we know not to be disappointed, because if we were in your place we might have quit waaay earlier. Controversially, I like when sometimes it ends in a fail, not all playthroughs have a happy ending and sometimes it may even be impossible. The effort and professionalism (not the army one) are yet again to be applauded. Win or lose, with RedHawk, it will always be a fun journey!
You don't necessarily need to have independent Lithuania as Ryazan. You can have a decent start allying Kazan and Crimea and then going after the Great Horde. In my own playthrough I managed to beat Muscovy with the hordes on my side.

I'm planning on doing Hindu Ryukyu Pirate Republic. Initial steps are rushing to form 6 colonial subjects for extra manpower while we conquering the spice islands.

Actually, I like the video ending in such a disaster, it has some "The Roman Empire of the New World" vibe to it. Feels more realistic than many of the successful challenges

You can use "Annex Migratory Tribe" as a treaty for new world nations and skip vassalization.

I've seen the Aztecs fight a lot in recent times, they do still lose but Sometimes they will hold off the colonizers for awhile
You should have just done conquer three mountains provinces for ryukyu
that one is one of the most aggravating nations i ever played, almost as bad as Kale

There is absolutely no reason to slow play American Ryukyu like this. Ryukyu is actually really strong when going the American route. You can get to America early and build a strong power base before the colonizers. You have tech advantage over all American nations and you're small enough to convert to Maya. With the recent DLC you can get Aztec missions and High American tech. Plus to get the achievement you can form other nations if you do a true one tag, which you're in a great position to do with your capital already in the new world. You just shouldn't waste your time colonizing more than is necessary to get within coring range of Mexico. Later you can colonize a little bit to get CBs on other nation and to get some valuable provinces. But you should really beeline for Mexico. The Aztec might seem scary with their many vassals, but they don't have tech and vassals are terrible at coordinating so you can easily crush their paper armies. From there you can play as if you were playing in Mexico the whole time. You can form whatever nations you need to stack CCR and admin efficiency, making sure to move your capital back before unpausing if formation moves it, and from there world conquest is easy
IF you are going the true one-tag route: convert to Mayan religion, move capital to Alaska, form Alaska. With admin ideas that's -65% CCR and after you have formed a post-colonial nation you will no longer spawn colonial nations even if you move your capital back to the Old World, even if you form another regular nation. Mayan Japan Emperor of China with Alaskan ideas is a legal build and gets like -85% CCR...

You can just use the "annex migratory tribe" option in the peace deal. That's how the AI colonizers own disconnected inland provinces in America.

The very first province (island) you colonized had the monument for colonization. Ah never mind, you found out.
Having done a world conquest with them many years back, I feel you. I restarted that WC 4 times until the stars aligned. I didnt play the game for 2 years after. That was also the last time I went after an achievement. In my heart I know I beat the game.
Ryukyu=>Manchu=>Qing is a pretty easy to do this.
i absolutely disagree that Ryukyu has nothing going for it. its not primitive, Its protected by Ming and also can exploit the fall of ming for good cash. its not in any danger and have a lot of potential routes of expansion. you can hop on philipines, then you can hop on manchuria and then take entire china and form Qing. there are definetely weaker and worse nations out there

You can delete tribal nations without them moving somewhere else by using the special cb i forgot and then choosing annex migratory tribe for 100% Peace cost. This works regardless of coring distance as far as i know
