- Guillaume and I finally had a chance to fish again so we went topwater frog and punching for largemouth bass and we found the MOTHERLOAD! It was a lot of fun watching Guillaume throw a pitching setup for the first time and he was literally shaking from the insane action we managed to find on the Ottawa River! There were largies EVERYWHERE and they were destroying our baits like starving hyenas!

Dan, we were around there on thursday evening and only caught a few small pike. The wind picked up and then the fishing went dead.
Any day those fish will move out from inside those areas so it's on borrowed time. I'm blown away by how juicy the fishing was and even more surprised that we did not see a single pike the entire time.
Fished a certain back bay of the Ottawa river in heavy cover many times and my go to lure was a strike king coffee tube fished weightless! It floats! Twitch twitch and would get massive blow ups and many bass in the 4lb range.
A tube like that would definitely work!! I love finding new ways to use tubes!

I've caught a lot of fish this season punching with an Xzone Adrenaline craw. Either that or Stike King rage craws.
