    Nice job Skip,, the first time I took mine apart, I had that washer leftover and I had to disassemble a second reel to figure out where it went.

    Thank a bunch on all of your videos, the best I've found on the internet for hands on and informative. Getting ready for an annual northern Minnesota lake sturgeon trip and my poor Abu reel has been badly neglected. Where did you get that really handy yellow/black multipurpose screw drive tool? Also, that tool you use for extracting the bearings out is awesome! Appreciate what you do! Thanks!

      Wow thank you so much, that screwdriver set is really awesome, just about every precision bit you can think of but I can’t remember where I got it, I’ll try to find a name on it, the other tools I got from Spool Hi-Speed Bearings, so glad this helped you and thanks for watching! Good luck on your Sturgeon trip!!!

    Awesome video, very well put together… On my Abu Garcia c4 it’s easier for me to take the reel side off because it has thumb screws and I just tighten them finger tight. That also helps too if you want to adjust the centrifugal brakes. You can just take the thumb screws out without needing a screwdriver and readjust the brakes however you want them. It makes a big difference if you’re slinging 7 ounces of lead or not even using a sinker… You can buy those thumb screws on eBay. I think they are like 7 or 8 bucks. I didn’t get a real good look at it but I don’t think that particular reel had the thumb screws. Great video… 👊🏼✌🏼
    You can also take the factory bearings and soak them in lighter fluid and spin them to get all of the old oil and debris out. You’ll know when you’ve got them cleaned out… Then put a fresh drop of oil on them and give it time to soak in and then they are good as new. You can also use solvent like what you get with a reel cleaning kit. It’s not like it’s a super hard reel to take apart so it’s not a big deal.

      @@ClearviewOutdoors yes sir, good luck I hope you catch a biggun…👍🏼 Lighter fluid is the best way to go. Because it has naphtha in it. It evaporates quickly and leaves a film of mineral oil on the bearings… So if you ever want to cast clean across the river just use lighter fluid and no oil… Lmao I don’t recommend it for long term use though…😆 Just one drop of TSI 321 Or Yellow rocket fuel is plenty… Oh yeah, that plastic cog gear in the side cover you can replace it with one that has a bearing and it will make your reel feel a lot smoother.

      That´t the way to do it (and the reason fpr the thumb screws).

    ambassadeur reel bearings are sealed like in the 5600c4 - how do i clean them? like in lighter fluid and oil the bearings...how do i unseal the bearing?

    • @ClearviewOutdoors
      @ClearviewOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      There are ways of getting them apart, videos are out there but seems difficult to me, I always use a small glass jar and put break cleaner or lighter fluid and leave for at least 24 hours, shaking them around at first and just every now and then, you will be surprised at dirt you get out, let dry and put a drop or two on them and it will soak in, the bearing oil is best for that because it’s thin, hope this helps and thanks for watching!
