Wow - a very thorough video. You have a lot of patience to fix, clean and source old parts for these things! Also, I love the Fast Show clips - niiiiiiiiiiice! 😄
I have a Korg Kontrol 49 collecting dust in my room, it has a really strange problem where if you press a certain note key on the keyboard it switches the octave 😂 no clue as to why it is happening 🤔Also the 49 has about 25 - 30 screws on the back which must be removed just to get into the thing, which makes me not want to mess with it.
Just found your video here. My joystick has been playing up on both axes, it doesnt zero properly. I was hoping to find a calbiration routine for the kb but no luck. Does you replacement show 0 when centered or did you have to adjust anything. Really hoping to be able to fix this, I love this little keyboard. Not sure I can unsolder it myself though. Are you able to do repairs for others? I could send you the little joystick board, ive ordered a new joystick from ebay anyhow.
It zeroed just fine, the replacement fitted perfectly. It is not too difficult to replace because on a separate small PCB. Ask someone who has a electronics-soldering iron and some solder-wick. Just don’t butcher it ;-)
Hi there I have the exact same problem since today. I played a VST and suddenly the pitchbend value was at -8. I did not touch the joystick. I tried everything to get it to zero value again but no chance. I wonder what happened because I didn't touch the stick since months. It worked before ! I think I will have to replace it and see if it solves the problem. Hopefully it's not another problem with the main circuit board. Thanks fornthe video.
hi im fixing one of these atm its a mc-1 it looks like it has internal speakers for something ,is there a way to get them to make a sound for testing ?
The MicroKontrol does not generate sound at all and therefore also has no internal speakers... To test it: best to connect the MIDI-out of the MIDI-in of a synth or synth module

Hi, do you know if is the microKontrol's editor software compatible with windows 10/11?
Soory, but: no, no idea…
Yes it is.
my cursor not work, do you think is the hardware or driver?
Think hardware… try cleanijg the rubber contacts with alcohol as shown in the video
Excellent job, great video!.
