Spoiler I love how Michael comes back at the end of the film and was like “Cory, you could never be me” and then he kills him. He doesn’t say it but that’s what I imagine he was thinking in that moment
He actually didn’t come back to kill Corey. He came back for the mask and when Michael tried to go for the knife Corey stopped him. That’s when Michael ended Corey. Michael had no intentions of finishing Corey
He wanted to leave Haddonfield with Allyson, but Laurie was the main obstacle who didn't approve of their relationship. So, Corey took Michael's mask and went on a killing spree against everyone who wronged him, with Laurie intended for last to make it look like Michael returned and finally claimed Laurie's life. It gives Corey a convenient scapegoat to blame his murders on, as everyone is already deathly afraid of Michael.

The Corey subplot could have worked if they didn't try to make him a Michael wannabe or a Michael pupil. How about this he stumbles into the sewer, sees Michael Myers and then tells people that Michael is alive and living in the sewer but nobody believes him because of what he did to Jeremy back in 2019. The one person who does believe him (albeit slightly reluctant about it) is Laurie Strode and that's how the ball gets rolling. He still has the relationship with Allison but when he tells Allison she sees it as just a way for him to make fun of her grandma like others probably have done to her, but eventually when more murders start piling up again, she begins to believe him as well. It's a boy who cried wolf story rather than an evil sidekick story. I don't know, that's what I think could have worked for this film.
@smort I'm not saying that the plot point was bad it just shouldn't have been in this film. It seems to me that David Gordon green might have had fatigue from Halloween after doing both 18 and then going straight into working on kills and then trying to have a 7-month turnaround to get Ends out. The original plan was to have all three movies take place on the same night which I personally think would have been a better idea because that way would have had a proper three act connected trilogy structure rather than what we have now. Look I'm not saying the movie is bad I'm just saying it's not a great capper to this trilogy, on its own it's a very well made slasher thriller. But that's not what most fans wanted to see they wanted to see the conclusion of a trilogy and as of now it's very uneven of a trilogy capper.
Just remove him from the movie completely. Never try shoehorning a new character and make them bigger than they actually are in an established story among prominent characters. This is especially so when it is the final act of said story that's supposed to be focusing on the conclusion between the protagonist and antagonist.
I agree with you this movie was ASSCRACK. It hurts because it was his final franchise. They should have made halloween KILLS be the last halloween. At least his movie would of ended with a banger. A cliffhanger, but a BANGER.

He wanted to see what Corey would do. So when Corey stabbed himself over a girl Michael decided he wasn't worthy of the title and just killed him.

I understand that they wanted us to know that Micheal was very weak and decrepit. The problem is that they show him transcending after stabbing the cop but he doesn't get stronger as he should, instead he gets bullied by Corey. There's so many questions instead of answers.

I realize Michael is older, but I didn't like him getting handled by Corey. I understand Michael is older, but this isn't right, give Mikey some respect.
They've been hinting that Michael Myers is a demon possessing Michael, and cemented that once Michael touched Corey and Corey became evil. So the reason that Corey was able to win is because he already had a degree of Michael's demonic empowerment. He needed the mask to complete it (that was how he was able to stomp that girl's head in, like Michael did in one of the previous movies).

He wanted to leave Haddonfield with Allyson, but Laurie was the main obstacle who didn't approve of their relationship. So, Corey took Michael's mask and went on a killing spree against everyone who wronged him, with Laurie intended for last to make it look like Michael returned and finally claimed Laurie's life. It gives Corey a convenient scapegoat to blame his murders on, as everyone is already deathly afraid of Michael.

The Corey subplot could have worked if they didn't try to make him a Michael wannabe or a Michael pupil. How about this he stumbles into the sewer, sees Michael Myers and then tells people that Michael is alive and living in the sewer but nobody believes him because of what he did to Jeremy back in 2019. The one person who does believe him (albeit slightly reluctant about it) is Laurie Strode and that's how the ball gets rolling. He still has the relationship with Allison but when he tells Allison she sees it as just a way for him to make fun of her grandma like others probably have done to her, but eventually when more murders start piling up again, she begins to believe him as well. It's a boy who cried wolf story rather than an evil sidekick story. I don't know, that's what I think could have worked for this film.
@smort I'm not saying that the plot point was bad it just shouldn't have been in this film. It seems to me that David Gordon green might have had fatigue from Halloween after doing both 18 and then going straight into working on kills and then trying to have a 7-month turnaround to get Ends out. The original plan was to have all three movies take place on the same night which I personally think would have been a better idea because that way would have had a proper three act connected trilogy structure rather than what we have now. Look I'm not saying the movie is bad I'm just saying it's not a great capper to this trilogy, on its own it's a very well made slasher thriller. But that's not what most fans wanted to see they wanted to see the conclusion of a trilogy and as of now it's very uneven of a trilogy capper.

Just remove him from the movie completely. Never try shoehorning a new character and make them bigger than they actually are in an established story among prominent characters. This is especially so when it is the final act of said story that's supposed to be focusing on the conclusion between the protagonist and antagonist.
I agree with you this movie was ASSCRACK. It hurts because it was his final franchise. They should have made halloween KILLS be the last halloween. At least his movie would of ended with a banger. A cliffhanger, but a BANGER.

He wanted to see what Corey would do. So when Corey stabbed himself over a girl Michael decided he wasn't worthy of the title and just killed him.
