Great choice! I cant wait for Jen to react to the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy somewhere down the line. She's gonna fall in love with Toothless so quickly.
This movie portrays two of the main philosophies of China represented by Master Oogway (Taoism) and Master Shifu( Confucionism). The first one focuses on the idea of the Tao, which translates basically to "The way." In essence, the universe has a path destined for everything, and as we are incapable of seeing or understanding the reason for events to happen means that trying to go against the Tao is futile, we should instead focuse on the present as is the only thing we have and trust in the Tao that things will fall into place as there is a reason for everything to happen. Confucionism understands the importance of everyone from the top general to the person who cleans the bathroom. Basically, everyone has a role to play. Therefore, everyone has to do and give their best at all times. You achieve this with discipline and control of yourself as this is the only way to control your life. The conflict we see in the movie is that Shifu tries to control the outcome while Oogway says to do your best in the present and trust that things will fall into place.
To expand on two of the Buddhist aspects of this film. It teaches that all sentient beings have the Buddha nature and therefore there is no need to seek for anything outside yourself i.e. there is no additional secret ingredient that you require. All the capabilities to become a great Kung Fu master, and then ultimately an enlightened being, are already within you. The Dragon Scroll represents "emptiness" or pure non-dual awareness which must be realised by stilling the mind, and then meditated upon until you realise your own Buddha-nature.
“Every time you threw a brick at my head or said I smelled, it hurt! But it could never hurt more than it did every day of my life just being me.” Is what he actually said. But yes, you’re right. What he said definitely hits harder than a brick. Poor Po.
The thing that I find to be even more impressive is that they were able to make it believable that Po would be able to defeat Tai Lung after this scene made him feel undefeatable
Tai Lung for me is similar to fallen angel vibes that come from Anakin. Raised with the delusion that they're special just to be alienated and rejected, unlimited potential that never got to be seen. "One often meets his destiny, on his road to avoid it"
And Morro from Ninjago, damn just realised they should watch that what a show, but stop at season 7 when characters get changed looks although I suppose it is a kids show, but will always be the goat show to me 🐐
"I'm not dying, you idiot! Ah... Dragon Warrior..." still gets me every time I think of it. Oh, and the first exchange of lines between Po and the villain in the second movie had me in stitches the first time I saw it :))) There's also the "Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight" series on Netflix (3 seasons), where the same Jack Black plays Po
@Holden Hardman 12:48 - If you want another John Wick mention, Master Oogway (Turtle) is the Doctor from 1st movie and 3rd movie: Parabellum (where John shot him twice, not dead though).
Don't worry, the second one gets better! The emotion and the impact on Po in the sequel is amazing, and Lord Shen is the best villain in the franchise!
I love that the main difference between Po and Tai Lung is shown through their responses to the reality of the dragon scroll. In the end, Po is satisfied with the answer he got, which is “You are enough.” Tai Lung has dreamed of being the greatest for so long that now he could never be satisfied with that simple truth.
Even more, they react differently in the moment. They both get presented with an empty scroll reflecting their face back at them. Po's response is "It's blank" which definitely speaks to self-esteem issues and his difficulty with creating his own identity from many different pieces, which will be a recurring thee in the trilogy. But Tai Lung? Tai Lung see himself in a blank scroll, the culmination of his journey, after the hardships, th betrayal, the destruction of everything he once care for. He sees himself and says "It's NOTHING!" Nothing. It's me, and it's nothing. That's when he lost. Both the fight, and himself, and to a degree the will to live. "All this...for that?" It's a common theme for somewhat sympathetic "the ends justify the means" villains. One sees a blank slate, the road ahead to understand the Dao, understand oneself to ascend. The other crumbles, faced with the emptiness. Such good mirrored characterization, and one of many special details in those movies!
Great reaction, Holden & Jen! I love this movie to bits. The fights & laughs are great, but the emotional scenes stand out more over time. Like when Tai Lung wins the Dragon Scroll, opens it, and says, "It's nothing?!". It looks like Tai Lung is talking about the scroll, but he is actually revealing how he sees himself. In his reflection we see confusion, sadness, anger, and disappointment. And a moment later, as Po affirms his own value & self-belief, he sees his reflection and smiles.
Dang, I never thought of it like that. Reminds me of a well-known Tony Stark quote, "if you're nothing without the scroll, then you shouldn't have it."
Actually the best kung fu fighting in cinema history, extremely detailed with a lot of jackie chan style slapstick type of stuff for Po, it's really cool how every character figths in an actual different style(usually related to the animal they are)
Tai Lung is a warrior who didn't deserve the treatment he got, he grew up thinking he'd become this legendary warrior if he only trained hard enough, and was disciplined enough, to learn everything he could, plus Shifu filled his head with dreams, pushed him in training, promising him that they would all come true if he hones his skills and abilities to the very limits, but when Oogway said NO, Tai Lung's world crumbled because it turns out that he had been struggling for so many years for nothing. He was furious and must have walked to the village because he was completely lost, or else he was telling everyone before how he was going to become a Dragon Warrior, and when he didn't become what he said he would become, maybe someone in the village angered him very easily, he was on the edge of snapping out of anger when he was rejected without an explanation, he just knew he wasn't good enough in Oogway's opinion. Later he spends twenty years in prison, immobilized, he finds out that someone is good enough, and then later he finds out that someone is good enough but is not trained, and disciplined nowhere near his level, Tai Lung is even more disappointed by seeing what was chosen instead of him. Now we don't know if Tai Lung rested at all on the way to the valley, but it seemed that he didn't, and at the end of the fight when he took the scroll and found out that what he was looking for was not written on some paper as he was led to believe, his tiredness finally caught up with him, and Po used his fat to win literally, and used this crazy move which he did not deserve, what's worse, there is no explanation or hint as to why he would know how to do this, he just realized how the move works (That's what I dislike most about the movie of all things). So Po kills this tortured warrior in the end, and if you ask me, Tai Lung did not deserve such treatment, and I believe he could of gone in a better direction if anyone cared, and gave him an actual chance, but NO everything revolves around Po.
Ummm…..No. Yes, Tai Lung was boosted by Shifu for years, and he was refused his “rightful place” as The Dragon Warrior, but his overreaction was a choice. The movie clearly stated that Oogway sensed that Tai Lung wasn’t worthy of the honor and responsibility of being The Dragon Warrior. Which, he was quickly proven right by all of Tai Lung’s actions. Adding parts to the story, in order to “prove” your point doesn’t really make them true. Saying that others in the village made fun of Tai Lung because he didn’t achieve his dream isn’t really something that we know happened, so it’s just speculation. And, how do you know that he was “rejected without any evidence”? Seems like another example of speculation. Also, Oogway had the knowledge and power to be able to find The Dragon Warrior, which is how he knew that it wasn’t one of The Furious Five, and could feel Tai Lung’s unworthiness. Also, you don’t know that “his tiredness finally caught up with him”, because we don’t know how much time passes between Tai Lung leaving prison until he finally gets to Shifu, but a significant amount of time had to have passed since Shifu was able to teach Po some Kung Fu. And, no matter what Tai Lung’s opinions of Po are, or whether he feels Po “deserves” to be The Dragon Warrior, that’s not justification for his actions. This is just like when people say that Syndrome was a victim in ‘The Incredibles’ when Mr. Incredible refused to let a child be his sidekick, and simply refused to hear the word, “no”, because he felt that he DESERVED to be a hero and didn’t want to hear anything that contradicted that, just like Tai Lung was becoming obsessed with the idea of him as The Dragon Warrior, instead of wanting to be a good being. They both clearly had serious issues with rejection, and they took those issues out on innocent people by choosing a path of violence, destruction, and causing harm.
@@sithlordkaeyl21 I see your point but you lost me with your example, and you didn't seem to understand what i was trying to say. Tai Lung was raised with love but also with promises that he would be selected for sure, which Shifu was not allowed to put into his head and break him in training to achieve something that was not guaranteed, but Shifu put it into Tai Lung's head that if he is the best he will be chosen, and he became the best but he was rejected. My scenario with the villagers was a possible scenario that could be why he did it, for his attack on the village, because he didn't kill anyone, but just made a mess, maybe destroying a few houses, and beating up some villagers. I am Digressing, what I was trying to prove is that devoting your entire life to something, with unrealistic promises from your parent, and then being locked up for most of your life, can't even begin to compare to a brat who couldn’t handle rejection when he was little Shifu trained Tigress properly as a master with discipline, and not with love, that's why Tigress could accept her rejection, even though it can be seen in the movie that she was furious that someone who has nothing to do with Kung Fu took away her title. Putting it into someone's head that they are “The Chosen One”, and are destined to achieve a legendary thing that everyone would like to achieve, is not good for building one's character from childhood. love and promises, if broken, create hatred in the heart, but discipline is cold and fair, and the one who grew up with the coldness of discipline can bear rejection more easily.
@@PetarSon, I understood what you were saying, and you were right about the fact that Tai Lung was raised with love and positive reinforcement and showed a lot of promise, but he eventually let his “destiny” go to his head, which is when Oogway saw Tai Lung’s path, so he knew that Tai Lung didn’t have the right mindset to be The Dragon Warrior. And yes, Shifu does hold a good amount of responsibility for filling Tai Lung’s head with his ideas of “greatness” which wasn’t the best thing for him , because he believed in his own future too much. But, it ultimately falls on the shoulders of Tai Lung for his actions, which he chose to take out the “rejection” on innocent beings by nearly destroying the entire Valley of Peace. That was a serious overreaction from someone that had incredible delusions of grandeur. He may have had a chance to actually becoming The Dragon Warrior at one point, but he allowed himself to start believing his own hype, and that’s when he started to become unworthy of the title. If Shifu hadn’t been blinded by his love for Tai Lung, maybe Shifu could’ve done something to help him change his path, but Tai Lung made his choice, and it fell to Oogway to save everyone because Shifu was still unable to face his “failure”. Tai Lung is ultimately responsible for his actions, and wasn’t the innocent victim in the story. Also, Po was just doing what was necessary to protect The Valley from suffering Tai Lung’s wrath like the last time he ran amok. He even tried to explain the meaning behind The Dragon Scroll, but Tai Lung didn’t want to listen to Po, or admit that he didn’t know as much as Po because he was just a “big, fat panda”. So, I did understand what you meant, and I agree with you to a certain extent, but ultimately Tai Lung was the one that made himself unworthy to be The Dragon Warrior by falling in love with the idea of the title. It was his DESTINY, his RIGHT, and again, Shifu was 100% wrong for constantly telling Tai Lung that he would achieve the title if he only trained enough, but Oogway saw that the DRIVE Tai Lung was exhibiting was the wrong mindset to have, which was his own fault.
@@sithlordkaeyl21 Tai Lung is responsible for his actions, I didn't say he was forgiven for what he did, but as far as Tai Lung knows he was sentenced to life in prison, even though he did not kill anyone, and he didn’t destroy the valley of peace, and Shifu would never have tried to apologize or just visit him and maybe change him, Tai Lung is arrogant and full of pride, but he was never discouraged to carry himself any differently because Shifu was blinded by parental love, instead of being a master in training and teaching Tai Lung things other than just martial arts. Tai Lung maybe wasn't never meant to be a Dragon Warrior, but he wasn't a monster with no self control, no one is born that way but he was shaped that way, because the one who was raised with false promises and beliefs, that training everything and learning everything will lead him to these incredible heights, that are from legends only told, you feel betrayed because the goal you were chasing was never yours even though it was promised to you, by a person who should have never guaranteed something like that, everyone would be furious, especially the one’s whose training went to the very limits of the body to the point of breaking bones, so much pain it's not easy to leave behind. Po didn't have anything like that put into his head, but grew up normally with his dreams of becoming anything he wanted to be, especially when he saw Tigress’s fight when he was young. Po did not realize the secret of the scroll by himself, but his father helped him, and Po is the person he is because of his environment and how his father raised him, not only because of what Po is like on the inside. Po did not try to change or hellp Tai Lung, he just said a few words expecting someone who was exhausted and angry to just listen and try to understand "there is no secret ingredient, it's just you", and If you watch the movie you can see when the five are talking to Po about Tai Lung, and Po understood his story, so he could have talked to him, and try to calm him down while he was holding him in that stupid grip, since Tai Lung was barely moving after that fall, he could barely stand on his feet, and Po could talk to him like he tried with Shen in the second movie. This is how I look at that event, when Tai Lung saw what was in the scroll and found nothing he thought he would find, he began to act impulsively and made mistakes, so while Po was holding him with that stupid grip he could better explain what the scroll meant, because Po convinced him that he held him in that grip, Tai Lung was calm and could try to listen to his opponent, and for Po to give him a choice, since he would told Tai Lung the whole truth, and whether he would choose peace, or for Po to do what he did in the movie. I think that since Tai Lung has nothing more to chase, and fight for, maybe he would take this chance to go and train on himself, to find himself when he doesn't have the scroll that had a false promise in his head blinding him, and maybe somewhere in the future he could reconcile with Shifu and not be seen as a threat anymore. I want to say that there is still a lot they could have done with Tai Lung if they wanted to, because Tai Lung deserves redemption because he has the potential for it, because he is not pure evil like some think. I did repeat myself a bit in this rewrite of mine, because I wanted to say everything else that I didn't mention. If you read everything thank you, and you don't have to completely agree with me, I just wanted to say everything I have on this topic.
@@PetarSon, no worries. I did read it, and I can see what you’re saying and why you believe the way you do. Like I said before, I do agree with you on several things, but I think where we differ is just who is to “blame” for Tai Lung’s decisions and actions, which is fine. I also agree that Tai Lung isn’t an “evil”character with no redeeming value, and he certainly could have gotten help and changed, but he also could have stayed the same. Do I think that he deserved to die for his actions? No, but a lot of movies do that sort of thing to the “villain”, which I think is a waste of character for future films.
Fun fact. In chinese Shifu means Master. So his name is literally Master Master. Wuguai means Turtle, so he's just Master Turtle. Taileng means "Too Cold", which is a bit less straightforward but still quite on the nose.
One of my favorite modern animated films and franchises. Will be fun to see you both watch them all. The discussion after is always better then even the reactions (which is saying a lot).
What makes Kung Fu Panda Trilogy so great are the villains, who are well written, not being bad cause they just are bad, every villain had his aim, Tai Lung for example wanted to be dragon warrior just to make Shifu proud. In the KFP 2 they focused on Po's past, its very emotional and the final fight was just EPIC, that's why it's my favourite movie of this three.
How have you guys not reacted to "How To Train Your Dragon"? Kung Fu Panda is close to being the perfect trilogy. HTTYD is the absolute best trilogy ever made.
Mild spoilers: It’s not the perfect trilogy for me, even if it is pretty damn incredible. The elements are all too similar. Each one has a hidden dragon sanctuary, repeating villains that overpower their dragons, and that just kinda took some of the enjoyment away. Just felt like the same thing over and over. If you’re talking nearly perfect trilogies, I’d say Toy Story 1-3, or Lord of the Rings are closer.
@@user-jt1js5mr3f i do understand what you are saying especially with the latter 2. i'm really not a fan of Toy Story but i do agree with LOTR! i seen the 2nd and 3rd in Cinemas and they blew me away at the time. I love Dino's and dragons so the Jurassic Park Trilogy is one of my favourites. i think "cars" was a pretty good trilogy. anyways i think the acting, score and visuals in HTTYD are perfect and yes the plots of the 2nd and 3rd are similar in ways but i do think there is enough difference in them.
@@wilks- I adore the Dragon films, to be clear, the score is incredible, the visuals are phenomenal, and the characters are fun, with some intimidating villains. I just need a bit more variety in the hidden world/domination villain plots for them to be truly perfect. Definitely one of the best trilogies though, just not THE best
@@user-jt1js5mr3f Yeah i completely understand your point, like i said i do believe there is enough difference in the villain/plots to make it not feel like you're watching the same movie twice but they could have done a little more. I just think it does a great job at everything tho. We already mentioned score, characters and visuals but the first film does a really good job of introducing us to their world. the second is my favourite due to the score and emotion it brings (i'm 30 and i can't help having a tear in my eye) and the third does a really good job of saying good bye to their world. i just don't think any other trilogy especially animated does it as well.
The most heartbreaking thing is that all Shifu had to do to avoid this whole situation was to comfort Tai Lung....To at least try to argue with Oogway, or to simply embrace his son and say "You did good, my son...You don't need that scroll anyway. You are the strongest warrior I know, and I am very proud of you...Always has been"... But the thing that made Tai Lung snap wasn't that he did not give him the scroll...But that he literally did nothing to comfort him when he needed it.
I absolutely love this trilogy of films! This film is so much fun but also Jack Black is just a joy to listen to. I recommend the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy which imo has the best music themes and score of all time.
I'm excited for the second one now! My favorite of the trilogy, and probably one of my favorite animated pictures of all time! Great reaction as always!
14:30 depending on how it’s spelt in Mandarin, “shifu” can either mean mentor (师傅) or it can mean master (师父). (In Cantonese the pronunciation is more like “sifu”.)
Awesome that you guys started this series. It's a favourite of mine. There's actually 4 short films that, if you want, you can watch in between these movies. "Furious Five" and "Holiday" between movies 1 and 2, and "Masters" and "Scrolls" between movies 2 and 3. p.s. Matt would've had a field day with this series as they are Bygone Jim moment goldmines.
This and how to train your dragon are two of the best trilogies of all time, animated or live action. For me personally, I think Shen in 2 is the best villain and I love Kai from 3, but there’s something so personal about Tai lung that makes me understand his quarrel and see the sadness through his anger. I don’t think his actions are justified but you can see where they come from
Such a great movie. One of my favorite parts was always how Shifu forced himself to believe in Po. He did not necessarily believe in him yet but he forced himself to because of his own sensei which lead to one of the best lines and responses in the movie: Po: Just what are you asking of me? Shifu: "I am asking you to have faith in your master, as I have faith in mine!"
This movie only gets better every time I see it, the sequel to this one is probably my favorite DreamWorks movie next to Puss in Boots the last wish, can't wait to see that
What I love about kung fu panda is how they make the villains . Tai lung isn’t ruined with too many jokes they made him serious but enough to fit in a kids movie. If you know what I mean
As I’m rewatching this movie with you guys, it just dawned on me that the main plot of this movie has a lot of parallels to Star Wars! - Oogway is Quigon, the first to believe in the prophecy of the chosen one; - Shifu is Obi-Wan, the chosen one’s Master even if he didn’t believe in him at first (I loved you too much to see what you were becoming 😢); - Tai Lung is Darth Vader, who had lots of promise but was ultimately taken by dark desires; And Po is Anakin, the chosen one as he should have become. I just blew my own mind! 🤯
I’m glad you guys are continuing with the trilogy 🙂 Kung Fu Panda 2 is incredible, and 3 is the cherry on top. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for 4. Keep it going!
Kung Fu Panda trilogy is not just perfect. It also looks complete, with the story making its full circle at the end of the 3rd movie. Therefore I have my doubts about the 4th parts. I will be glad to be wrong about it though.
I saw a video on Accented Cinema that talked about why this movie was so popular in China, even though all the cultural references are wrong/more american than chinese, and he had an interesting take on it: This movie is a love letter to Hong Kong cinema. While the themes and messaging may be more american than chinese, it all comes from the perspective of an american who loves chinese cinema, and that love shines through in the hundreds of little references and easter eggs to the golden days of HK cinema that are literally everywhere in the film.
A couple fun things about this movie I learned after moving to china: Master (let’s just say kung-fu master for the sake of this) in chinese is shifu 师傅. So Master Shifu is Master Master. His name is his title. The word for turtle is wugui乌龟. So Master Oogway is just Master Turtle. thought these were fun elements to add
I love them all, probably lean more towards the second one though. Part two has so much character development and even more action, and a great ending.
“I’ve never seen SpongeBob” that single handedly broke my heart 😂

The Tai Lung prison escape gives the same energy as the Vader Hallway scene. Makes him pretty terrifying for a cartoon villain!

I am Digressing, what I was trying to prove is that devoting your entire life to something, with unrealistic promises from your parent, and then being locked up for most of your life, can't even begin to compare to a brat who couldn’t handle rejection when he was little
Shifu trained Tigress properly as a master with discipline, and not with love, that's why Tigress could accept her rejection, even though it can be seen in the movie that she was furious that someone who has nothing to do with Kung Fu took away her title.
My favorite is the second movie and it's because of the villain. How to train your Dragon and Kunfu Panda are near perfect trilogies.
The second movie is the peak of this franchise
I’m loving these animated movie reactions! Lilo and Stitch honestly had a big impact on my sense of humor 😂
Fun fact. In chinese Shifu means Master. So his name is literally Master Master. Wuguai means Turtle, so he's just Master Turtle. Taileng means "Too Cold", which is a bit less straightforward but still quite on the nose.
I CAN'T BELIEVE JEN HAS NEVER SEEN SPONGEBOB!
3:47 :( now we need My wife watches SpongeBob
@ least the 1st 3 seasons of the TV series & the 1st 2 movies.
One of my favorite modern animated films and franchises. Will be fun to see you both watch them all. The discussion after is always better then even the reactions (which is saying a lot).
God the rant by tai lung “who filled my head with dreams who trained me till my bone cracked tell me how proud you are” chefs kiss
Kung Fu Panda would make Matt cry his soul out
Wow. Thanks for the comment of the day. Also didn't expect you to pronounce my name correctly. Thanks a bunch and excited for Jens reactions
Please watch the sequel! It’s arguably even better
Matt would probably love these movies, especially the Oogway segments.
26:10 We're in the third act, it's a little late to just now realize what the scroll's whole deal is, especially when it was explained an hour ago...
How have you guys not reacted to "How To Train Your Dragon"? Kung Fu Panda is close to being the perfect trilogy. HTTYD is the absolute best trilogy ever made.
Mild spoilers:
It’s not the perfect trilogy for me, even if it is pretty damn incredible.
@@wilks- agreed, 2 is my favorite. Stoic singing…and then his loss…so well done.
Jack Black is one of those actors who can master his craft at whatever he is in.
Very rare that an entire series of movies are incredible but you picked a good one here!
I absolutely love this trilogy of films! This film is so much fun but also Jack Black is just a joy to listen to. I recommend the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy which imo has the best music themes and score of all time.
Awesome reaction y'all! I can't wait for you guys to get to Kung-fu Panda 2. I think its honestly the best of the trilogy.
I'm excited for the second one now! My favorite of the trilogy, and probably one of my favorite animated pictures of all time! Great reaction as always!
3:44 Ok I get Jen not seeing some pop culture movies but never seen Spongebob?!!
Im sorry, but that casual "I've never seen SpongeBob" line from Jen made my soul spit take, go to heaven and return into my body 😂
That picture of Po suddenly appearing when Tai Lung said it made me cackle 😂😂😂
No spoilers ( but he's a panda) it gets addressed in later movies
14:30 depending on how it’s spelt in Mandarin, “shifu” can either mean mentor (师傅) or it can mean master (师父). (In Cantonese the pronunciation is more like “sifu”.)
I think Master Shifu has one of my favorite character arcs of all time
Awesome that you guys started this series.
'I wonder why he's the only panda'
KFP2: 'Funny you ask!'
Shifu: "Tai Lung has escaped from prison!"
Oogway: "A'ight, I'ma head out."
I love that the dogs get their own chairs.
“I’ve never seen SpongeBob” that really hurts me😭
If the next video isn’t the continuation of Daredevil I’m gonna riot
This movie only gets better every time I see it, the sequel to this one is probably my favorite DreamWorks movie next to Puss in Boots the last wish, can't wait to see that
Tai Lung is one of favorite villains of all time ❤
If you like DreamWorks movies, Monsters Vs Aliens, the Madagascar trilogy, the HTTYD trilogy, and Over The Hedge are must watch films for sure!
Ooo Over the Hedge is one that not many have reacted to
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is another good DreamWorks movie.
YESSSSSS I saw the thumbnail when opening youtube and WAS SO EXCITED
KUNG FU PANDA 4 IS COMING OUT THIS YEAR!
Fun fact: Kung Fu Panda sparked a debate in China asking why the Westerners could make a better movie with Chinese culture than the Chinese themselves
i love these reactions so much and so glad yall did prince of Egypt
EVERYBODY WAS KUNG FU FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“I’ve never seen SpongeBob” my heart fucking sunk💀💀💀💀
Oogway managed to be one of my favorite characters in film history and he’s only in half of a movie.
“I’ve never seen SpongeBob”. I have never heard a single person say that 🤣.
You guys are hitting all the bangers lately!
- Oogway is Quigon, the first to believe in the prophecy of the chosen one;
- Shifu is Obi-Wan, the chosen one’s Master even if he didn’t believe in him at first (I loved you too much to see what you were becoming 😢);
- Tai Lung is Darth Vader, who had lots of promise but was ultimately taken by dark desires;
And Po is Anakin, the chosen one as he should have become.
I just blew my own mind! 🤯
Kung Fu Panda 2 makes me cry EVERY TIME! Can't wait to see your reaction to that
JEN SHOULD WATCH THE HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON MOVIES! SHE WOULD LOVE THEM!
Po's story is not over yet. Movies 4, 5, & 6 are coming.
I hope the 4th is good but Awkafina worries me…
@@kreativeillustr8s, since Kung Fu Panda has been described as DreamWorks' Toy Story, we've got nothing to worry about.
I love the dumpling training. Great homage to Jackie Chan in the fearless hyena
The Kung Fu Panda and the HTTYD trilogies are a must guys! great films with great meanings and messages throughout tbh. Enjoy guys!!!
Just like Shifu told him, the hard thing is the clean up, he turned Tailung into dust xD
I love the trilogy but like a lot of people say, the 2nd movie is definitely the best of the trilogy and has more of the emotional impact of the 3
Number 3 is more spiritual.
"What's his name...Tofu?" Was hilarious
Love this trilogy we'll see what the 4th is like
Amazing movie. I watched this 3 times in theaters when it came out. So good! Nice reaction guys
When Jen said, “I wonder why he’s the only panda” 👌👌👌
I saw a video on Accented Cinema that talked about why this movie was so popular in China, even though all the cultural references are wrong/more american than chinese, and he had an interesting take on it:
This movie is a love letter to Hong Kong cinema. While the themes and messaging may be more american than chinese, it all comes from the perspective of an american who loves chinese cinema, and that love shines through in the hundreds of little references and easter eggs to the golden days of HK cinema that are literally everywhere in the film.
A couple fun things about this movie I learned after moving to china:
Master (let’s just say kung-fu master for the sake of this) in chinese is shifu 师傅. So Master Shifu is Master Master. His name is his title.
The word for turtle is wugui乌龟. So Master Oogway is just Master Turtle.
thought these were fun elements to add
A lot of people don’t know this but there is a minor post credit scene that references the peach seed that Shifu planted earlier in the movie
I love the Kung Fu Panda series as a whole and the second is by far my favorite, hope you guys continue the series.
One of the best parts is that the real dragon warrior and actual kung fu master has five lines of dialogue in the entire movie
What are you talking about?
Welllllll guess we need a SpongeBob watch-a-thon since she’s never seen that either.. her poor childhood.. ❤
as a chiropractor in training, i love how adjustments save the 5
Excited/Dreading yall watching the next film... always gets the water works going 😢
We aren't going to skip over the fact Jen has never seen Spongebob are we? @3:35 😱
If there's one thing this series has gotten pretty much perfect in every movie, it's the villains. Tai Lung is awesome
I love them all, probably lean more towards the second one though. Part two has so much character development and even more action, and a great ending.
