Thank you for making this tutorial and practice video! It really helps me a lot, I was just stuck for hours trying to figure out how to sculpt the mouth better before encountering this video. Looking forward to more content of yours!
Would be great, when you give us lessons about all the special parts at the human body (eyes etc.). Would be a awesome series of my favourite youtuber. :)
Superb i m watching all your tutorials.... I started with low poly well following your instructions finally its done.. And now i am moving on with sculpting part... Thanks to you grant... Keep making videos... Much love to you from india🙂
Working on the dinosaur you made videos about, And it's turning out great without any problems. Usually when I follow along with some kind of youtuber I fail to a extent. You make cool videos man keep it up.
Ok, you are seriously awesome! I just started using blender not even a week ago and been following your tutorials as well as just fiddling with things inside of it and I went further than I thought I could! However, about the top lip sticking out more than the lower lip....Apparently my lips didn't get the memo lmao, cause I use my own lips as reference for my sculpts lol.
thank you man, your videos are making me so much better at blender. i've been struggling through blender since the only training available was the books.
Blob brush is like between draw and inflate. I only really use draw for alphas and inflate used to cause me problems so I use clay strips & blob as my main brusher. Blob is also good for muscles i've found.
I think i overdid it on the starting base of the mouth. It currently looks like a duck bill more than anything else. I'm ecxited to learn and improve though!
you sir are a master computer artist. Have you ever done any forensic work for any police departments? that , I'm sure would be some good freelance work. I'm enjoying watching your work develop and trying to achieve the same results myself. thank you my friend.
I’ve been meaning to try my hand at sculpting for ages but never got round to it. Your last couple of videos have finally overcome my inertia and now I’m wondering why I waited so long.
Hi Grant, thank you for your concise yet amazingly helpful tutorials! Being a noob, I have a question: do you usually sculpt a face from a basemesh, and if so do you recommend using the mulitires modifier? Thank you!
great tutorial as always! But... I've done a sculpt I'm quite happy with but want the mouth to open, what would be the best way after already sculpting the lips like you have??? Also just got your character course and new learn to draw course on GameDev, would highly recommend so far!!
Sculpting from reference seems a lot harder than drawing from reference. I feel like I'd be really lost if I didn't have experience with drawing lips, but I guess that's normal when you start out. Thanks for these tutorials!
Hello there Grant Abbitt thank you so much for this tutorial I'm learning a lot about sculpting THANKS TO YOU I just have one question, how do I use my finish face model in a game or animation? do I have to retopoligice with the shrinkwrap modifier to get the lower poly count because I imagine that a face like the one I'm following up on your tutorials would be way too many vertexes to deal with for a game or animation right ? can you please address this for me like what's the next step after sculpting if I want to animate or use my sculpt for a game. Please do help Thank You for your awesome tutorials they are very very good excellent content and very informative
I'm fairly new to blender and am actually taking one of your courses on Udemy for character creation. Here's my question(and this may be a dumb question): is there a way to sort of "lock" whatever you've already sculpted so you don't somehow inadvertently smudge it up in the process of sculpting the rest of the face? Like if you get the lips down and then start working on the eyes, making it so the lips are locked and you can freely work on the eyes without nudging into your already sculpted lips (unless of course you intended to)...
So, after you sculpt, if you wanted to use for animation, would you 1.) bake normal map, 2) retopo, 3) use normal map in shader ? Is that the basic process, or is there more to it. Any real need to retopo with "ideal" topology, or can you 'get away' with remesh, or similar? Thanks for any thoughts - just trying to put together full process in my head.
man, i cant believe i make a mouth just one question, to be this professional, and drawn this things, how long did it take you to become a professional in this area
Watching this in June 2021, would you still recommend to follow the dyntopo path, or is using Voxel remesh a favoured approach? It feels like the second one might generate a lot of extra geometry in areas where it is not needed. Also not sure if I thanked you on the graphics tablet advice I got a One by Wacom small for Christmas, this has been the best Christmas present in YEARS
@Grant Abbitt I am a student of yours in UDEMY. And it's just awesome to learn from you. I want to buy WACOME -CTL/4100WL/K0-CX Should I buy it for blender sculpting? Please suggest, your opinion matters🙏
