Honestly, your probably the best at making blender tutorials, they arent too long where I get bored, but not too short where I cant tske in information, it's right in the middle.
I'm glad you showed your own frustration with this sculpt. Makes me feel better knowing that even pro's are still learning. Great work, thank you very much for your great videos!
I hardly ever look at who has made a video when im looking for something. in this case i was was searching "blender sculpt eye sockets" and of course I just clicked top video in the results. as soon as I hear "Hello and welcome to gabbit media" you get a double fist pump because I know im going to learn something
failure and practice... i have tended to avoid practice because of the fear and discomfort of failure, but this is really it, permission to fail, to practice and fail, and that is the path to growth!
Excellent tutorial. Always good to see what Blender is capable of in the right hands. I like the way you use Dyntopo to build up the lids. I usually reach for the Move brush, try to pull the lids into position and end up making a complete rick of everything. :-)
Thanks for this tutorial. And, the release of blender 2.80 is just around the corner. If I am not mistaken, its gonna be on the second week of July. Sooo, exited about it.
That quickly, that easily to make a simple head? I came for eyes, but figured out heads. My method before was to cut loop a block and shape it to a point where I could subdivide it into looking close to a head before trying to sculpt.
Hello, thanks for all the tutorials and workflows. One question why do you go up to higher resolutions only to go back down to low res on parts then up again?
Is there anyway to make the skin smoother? One way i tried is using subdivision / simplify brush to add polygons and use smooth brush to smooth it out. Is it an efficient way to do it? The purpose is to make the skin looks smoother and reduces the wrinkle (because of low resolution).
Hello - do you have a video on texture brush management? I am struggling to find a tutorial that explains how to create and save new texture brushes for later use. I keep overwriting ether the original brush w/o the texture or make 6 with the same texture... Thanks in advance.
On my screen, a dot with circles appear at the cursor while on your screen they don't by which I assume you somehow turned that off. Can you share how you did that?
why my brush is not so deep when I try to do the cheekbones? I use the same Preferences . Also I am trying to change the strength, nothing changes. and when I grab it it grabs with sharp Vertex and seems not so smooth
Have you considered providing pureref documents in your tutorials, so we can see the same images you collect, like that skull eye one at 12:32 for example, and the complete set at the beginning.
@@grabbitt Oh right. Probably some distribution of unlicensed images copyright or something. That sucks. I was thinking it would be useful educational wise and why people havent done it before.
Thx for all the content in this channel! I am learning so much. Sorry, but I have to ask a noob-question, I puzzle over my own projects and I see it happens here as well: why does the orthographic-front-view of the sphere look more voluminous and sometimes odd compared to the user-perspective?
Ok, total Blender beginner here...can someone tell me how you just draw over the eyes like that? When I try with the same tool, same pressure, etc. the draw tool seems to only attach to my face shape and won't cover the eyeballs at all, even though they're well-set within the sockets. I tried to merge my objects thinking that might fix it but I ended up f-ing my whole sculpt and having to start over. Anyone?
whats the best and closest way to add a quad sphere please? like the one you get for default when open new sculpt? ico sphere subdivided? dont know why there isnt an option to add one. great tutorials btw.
Great tutorial . Id love to see similar eye creation based on an actual photo of a person. Currently struggling with 3D scans ( affordable iSense scanner) where clean up is fine but i need more definition of eyes and lips . Cheers
Sir really informative. I just wanted to know whether you used a graphic tablet or a mouse for sculpting this model? The strokes are amazing . Thanks for such nice tutorials.
I have the same problem! Oftentimes I will get the sculpt to where it looks reasonable and resembles what I would like it to, however I don't know where abouts to add detail. What I usually find useful is posting my sculpt on an online fourm and getting a seccond set of more expirenced eyes on the piece to direct me on how to proceed
Hello , at 14.07 i don't understand why when I start sculpting the eyes with the draw brush , the eyes tend to get out . The brush doesn't cover the eyes like yours. You know why ? Thanks
Hello thank you for the video it was very helpful. One thing I wanted to ask after I get done with the eyes I go back to sculpting and try to sculpt my face it won't do anything. The only thing I can sculpt is on one of the eyes I try to select the face but it doesn't help it still won't let me do anything did I miss a step?
Hello there , why when i select any UV sphere for the eyes in the object mode it doesn't sculpt together with with my head in the sculpture mode ? Is there any setting to fix that issue ?

Yes very exciting :)
GA: sculpting eyes with the nose so far off is throwing all you proportions off. Eyes are set wide
and about 15% big. Learned a bunch anyway
This looks so much easier than making a head in edit mode
That quickly, that easily to make a simple head?
I came for eyes, but figured out heads. My method before was to cut loop a block and shape it to a point where I could subdivide it into looking close to a head before trying to sculpt.
Hello, thanks for all the tutorials and workflows. One question why do you go up to higher resolutions only to go back down to low res on parts then up again?
Sometimes but mainly just slowly go up

Reverse crease for sharp sides
That's a great idea
Seriously, I used to pinch everything and it was significantly slower
yeah it makes the most sense i think but it is very slightly different to the pinch :)
Thanks grant you are making great tutorials good work.

Hi maybe a silly question but can you rig and animate a scupted charector thanks
On my screen, a dot with circles appear at the cursor while on your screen they don't by which I assume you somehow turned that off. Can you share how you did that?
It's just updates in the programme
How do you draw over the eyeballs? I have the eyeballs as a separate thing but I can’t draw over them. It just goes through the eyeballs.
Check the face direction
why my brush is not so deep when I try to do the cheekbones? I use the same Preferences . Also I am trying to change the strength, nothing changes. and when I grab it it grabs with sharp Vertex and seems not so smooth

So far its not working, when I get the sphere it goes behind the head and I cant get it in the sockets and the mirror doesnt make 2 eyes
is necessary to have a pad to do all this stuff or a normal good mouse will do the job ?
better off with a tablet
When you rig the eyelid, doesn't it need extra geometry since it'll be stretching when eyes are closed?
It helps yes
May I ask why you use the Dyntopo?
Check my recent videos on remesh and multires. This video is fairly old as well
Is the viewport in subdivision surface set to 3 for the sphere?
it doesnt make much difference
