Actually, Shizuoka is known for its early blossoming varieties of cherry.
Although I must say that it was probably the warmest February I have ever experienced in Japan.

Japan has such light and small portioned meals. I just love all the ways it's presented. The desserts looked so good! Keep up the great job, Mikey, no matter what the complainers say. 👍

What a unique and special sensory dining experience by the river! My favorite dishes were dessert with that tangerine perfectly placed in the ring of Panna cotta and the thin slices of wagyu- so beautiful they almost looked like fabric!🤍

That _sukiyaki_ with the yam mixed with the usual raw egg was very interesting. I could try that at home.
Also that _unagi_ hotpot seemed very unusual. I guess that would be quite expensive.
And as I go to Shizuoka regularly, I might try the egg sandwich.

Odaware is great. I originallly picked it as a filler between cities and we ended up enjoying it the most. There is a interesting older shopping district ? The long road with shops and a covered rooof, shoutenga ? Yeah that one was interesting.

Sorry, most of the time I am very open minded and enjoy all your food content but for some reason, seeing that raw egg slime stringing with every bite, made me yak. Yuck!! The rest of it was absolutely beautiful though.
the slime is probably more from the mountain yam!

I wish fish cake aka surimi aka "krab" didn't get such disdain the US. Granted all we have is that outside of Asian markets, but the marketed as faux crab to get us to eat it, and now because everyone fancies themselves a gourmet, yet has no idea it is in California Roll, ..anyway, i like it.
