17:06 Hey mate. Nice video. Best way to pop that linkage you struggled with is to hold it underneath with skinny pliers then you throw 3rd gear from the stick. It pops straight away. I'm not entirely sure it works for this cars, but that's the way I do this in others.

Glad to see you installed the shifter! Mine hasn’t had any issues besides that bolt/screw i told you came out.

Yeah dude! It’s been pretty solid! I added thread locker to both the side bolt and they haven’t come loose!

I installed mine a few weeks ago. Never knew about cutting the linkage down so obviously didn't bother.. First I've heard of that tbh. Kind of glad I didn't not gonna lie 🤣

Yeah I think the new linkage only came on the newer shipments? Some of the videos Ive seen doesn’t come with it.
The biggest difference with the linkage is the cable wont have any twist on it while connected to the ball joint.

Do you put a shift boot back over that thing?

I didn’t try because I like the look. Some people use some aftermarket shift boot. I don’t think the oem shift boot will fit without modifying it to fit.

How is it as a daily shifter

It’s pretty good! The throw isn’t crazy short that it bothers my daily driving. If anything it makes daily driving better

By the way im in the UK and i found it exactly the same fitting the linkages and bolting it down was ridiculously tight and required loads of force. Felt sketchy as fuck. Needless to say its in and it feels good but for the money i did expect it to be a much better fit rather than needing the linkages to be forced backwards and not being able to get the bolts back on 🤣🤦‍♂️
