TILTA FLOAT DUAL HANDLE SUPPORT SYSTEM REVIEW

- In this video, we are reviewing the Tilta Float Dual Handle Support System. We have taken this system out into the field on a few shoots and it's safe to say this product is a definite game changer. The system takes advantage of the Float System Support Vest as well as the Float Support Arm from the original Float. The RS2/3 is perfectly integrated into the Dual Handle supports on top of the new Manfrotto Quick Release Plate Adapter. This is a great gimbal option, without all the wear and tear on your arms, chest, and shoulders. This is not a paid advertisement and is an unbiased review

I’m working with this setup for a while now. I like too. Using the Float as a practice tool transitioning to regular Steadicam. Exciting times having all these modular tools available at reasonable price
Great review! Happy to see this setup suites your workflow! 💪🏻🎬
Does RS4 work with this setup (thumb triggers)
Sweet setup! Thanks for sharing!
Thorough walk-thru. Thanks.
Looks pretty sick! Wish my RS3 was supported
Hi nice video. Is this also be used as a steadycam insterad of dual grip and can I use zhyun crane 3s with this system. Thank you
how smooth is the ballhead when panning and tilting? love to see some footages
I'm new with this setup. I have made everything like you said and the arm, like you, when I let go the gimbal it stays in the place, everything seems smooth, but when I make a clip e can see small vibrations in my steps? What is wrong?
What's that extension you have on the back to get the support pad up between your shoulder blades?
Could you please quickly tell me how you attached the manfrotto baseplate to the Tilta dual handle? how many holes are there at the bottom of the dual handle to attach the plate to ? 1 or 2 ?
Just curious since I can't find any images of the underside of the tilta dual handle.
it looks great for pan tweaks to framing but how is it on tilt? does it just flop around a bit or has limited movement ? or do you more have to do tilts with the control handle?
Would this work for real estate shoots? I do 6-10 listings a day(quantity) and operate the gimbal with no support and its is killing my back
How about using the cam handheld without the gimbal on this setup? Does it work like a easyrig?
How does this help with walking movement shake? Does it have an effect?
How does the tilta ring control
Grip attach here? I think I’m missing a part.
How much weight does the vest and arm hold?
Are you using the VND module on the mirage? The issue with so many motors becomes nit only space and balancing, but also motor control, especially for a one-man operation, and along with that, powering all the different motors. I haven’t quite figured out yet if having both focus and zoom control with a nucleus, plus VND control along with of course gimbal control would be possible all on one setup. I have the float. I’ve watched The BestBoy Adam videos and the many Camera Rigging Mods videos, but not sure if all that is possible. Also recently got the Tilta bottom plate Gold Mount battery adapter for powering my BMPCC 6 K pro, but am having issues balancing. I can make it work, but gimbal motors sometimes show orange and red warnings on the RS2 screen. It makes for sometimes jittery footage at extreme angles. Anyway, I’m rambling, thanks for the excellent videos!
I don't have the VND module on the matte box in this video for simplicity but I do use it during exterior shoots. I don't normally use my nucleus for zoom and focus with this set up since the auto focus on the A7 gets the job done 95% of the time so I usually just attach my nano motor to the steadicam arm and adjust the VND that way.
Great reviews! Are you able to tilt the hand grips forward and back or does the vest arm restrict any angled movement?
Unfortunately no. The handgrips are fixed upright. It probably has to do with the left handgrip doubling as the battery for the set up.
@@digitalfeast does that include where the handgrips are attached to the float arm? I saw you get 15 degrees of movement on the manfrotto quick release adapter.
@@nickrichardsfilm Oh you can absolutely adjust the positioning there! I thought you meant adjusting the handgrips independently. I will say the manfrotto adapters adjustment can be a little stiff but for your needs I think it will suffice!
@@digitalfeast great thanks for letting me know!
Can you try it without the gimbal? Just the camera, no stabilisation/ibis,.. do have an handheld style
Yes you can absolutely do that! We haven't run that set up on a shoot yet but its a great idea for a future video!
When using this dual handle configuration, do you still get z-axis stabilization as you would with the float (sled) configuration?
yes, because the spring arm is still the one doing the z-axis stabilization.
Guud my brother
Do you prefer this over the easyrig?
will this work with the RS 3 Pro?
I’m really struggling with getting smooth footage. I find I’m getting smoother footage whiteout the rig I’m sure I just have the springs adjusted wrong but so far not getting usable results while walking.. :(
What is the issue with your footage? The spring arm should sit perfectly level with your waste when not being held for the best stabilization.
Do you feel the float system is better than say an easy rig setup?
Any idea if these items can be bought separately if I already have a float system ?
You absolutely can! I still use the same arm and vest from my initial purchase of the Tilta Float!
What’s the rod extension on the back of your vest?
That is an extension modification I did with rails. Here is the video I followed in making that adjustment. ua-cam.com/video/9n2zKYjm-ss/v-deo.html
how do you have your back support sitting so high up? did you modify it?
I did modify it. Check out this video for the how to ua-cam.com/video/9n2zKYjm-ss/v-deo.html
it doesn't have monitor attachment?
Sir, Is float compatible DJI Ronin RS3/RS3 Pro
Yes. 100%
Please Show us footage!
i need a support system... use quite a bit of Tilta stuff, am mostly happy... wish they'd drop the price on this a bit, been out for a little while now and I'd scoop it for a good deal.
but i'm not payin 1350 :)
sell me one for 900
v-mount
the monitor is on the left side of the handle has nothing to do with the Balance 😂😂😂 .
More an overview than an actual review. 😂
