Tilta Nucleus Nano II With Control Handle Full Kit Review

- Опубліковано 7 лют 2024
- THIS EPISODE - Full review of the new, feature packed lens control system from Tilta. A word of note. I’m not actually comparing this to the original Nano. I am comparing it to the Nucleus. This system is so much more closer to the Nucleus than the original Nano.

Great explaining! I love when I can avoid annoyances!!!
Great review good Sir.
Great video Scott! Your’s will likely be the video I send to others who need to understand the system for the foreseeable future until significant improvements are added!
Love my nano ii, I need to grab the handle, great review as usual
At 6:16 what the hell is going on with that window 🤔
There was a glitch in the Matrix. You were the first to notice it.
@@ScottBalkum I must be the one. Hey man great video I've been eying this new focus wheel. Been using the nano for a long time now and I think it may be time for th upgrade. Thanks for all you do
I’ve had the basic combo (wheel and one motor) for a while and basic functionality seems reliable. And I appreciate you spelling out the upgrade steps and a few of the other engineering quirks, maybe now I can update the firmware and delve into the details. My biggest initial gripe was the incompatibility with my full frame BMCC camera. The wheel would black out, lock up and require a full reset if connected to the BMCC Bluetooth. Maybe they’ve fixed that since? I will have to do some testing. My other frustration is with Tilta’s website. For instance should be much easier to find information about upgrading firmware. The search function on their “support” page is close to useless. So Scott, thank you for another of your fun, thorough, and thoroughly informative reviews. It seems I will be referring back to this a few times in the days ahead to make sure I understand the product better. Oh and I hope one of these days they will start selling the handle as a separate item. The last time I looked the part was still showing as on back order, though at least now you can get the full kit if desired.
Wow! Thanks Scott! That was information packed (hopefully not with politicians) 😛 Looks like a great tool (so many things for this noob to buy - omg!)
Thanks for The Lens Cuff shoutout!
Now, I have to say that was a rather thorough review/walkthrough.
I’ve had the 3 motors with the wheel for a while now.
Initially they didn’t state that you need the handle to use the 3rd (and 4th) motor, so I had to wait several months to have complete FIZ control.
The handle arrives in a few days…
Your experience about the wifi is on par with my own, it could be better!
As for the dim display on the handle, that’s a real bummer.
I’ll have to rewatch for certain bits about lens mapping to try it with my own setup.
Thank you for yet another excellent review!
Rewatching as I just received the control handle. Thanks again for putting this together!
"politicians" made me LOL!
@6:15 the trees outside the window zoom in crazy fast 😅
Great video, have you tried the handle with a gimbal to control it? I've got the nano 2, just ordered the handle and wireless adapter, so will be testing out in the near future
Appreciate the detailed review. It's great to hear about the firmware update. Do you think this is a viable replacement for the Nucleus M when using bigger/heavier lenses with a longer throw, for example a Tokina Vista?
Oh, its silly how powerful these motors are! It can throw a Vista around like a tiny lens. Made me laugh the first time I cranked fast on a big lens. And the torque was set to medium hahhaha.
@@ScottBalkumreally good to know. Seems like this system makes the M obsolete almost.
Do you have a good resource for pairing the wheel with the hand controller?
I bought a nano ii motor only, since I already own a nucleus m system. It’s either gonna serve me as a zoom motor because one of the M motors somehow got fried, or as a lightweight motor for RS3 Pro (hopefully rs4 pro will come out soon enough), because I found the M motor to make my Komodo+DZO Vespid setup too front heavy.
Ha! "...and a button, button". 🙂 (still watchin')
Need to find a twizzler dispenser now.
what is the AC's wireless lens control please? x
This isn't fully bug free, it is still pretty much a beta product that is still being developed with firmware updates. But I notice the motor is not as strong as the Nucleus M motor though. It is useable but I would mod it to work properly for a 1st AC.
Really? The motors were incredibly strong for me. They could crank the stiffest lenses I had with no issues.
There is also a torque setting for the motor. Were you setting the torque higher or leaving it at default?
why is there a tree zooming in the background? lol
Sorry, the house was in the middle of a time travel event.
Lol politicians 😅
Hahahaha politicians
