Phenomenal sound. And loved the volume knob demo. I want to build one of these but have no experience building amps and no working knowledge of amp circuitry in general. I have a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 401 (pre-2003) that has a blown bridge rectifier. I want to fix it myself but don't want to accidentally shock or kill myself by improperly draining the filter caps. Amp hasn't been turned on in over a decade so maybe the filter caps are already drained. Sorry for rambling. Great video!
Hi mate, as i can see you have good knowledge about champ.please i need help to build mine.i have hammond 291AEX power transformer 220 version and it's got two black wire primary, but am bit confused which lead going to the fuse.because these two leads come out from different bunch of wires e.g.; one stay with two red wires and the other stay with green and yellow bunch, your help much appreciated.
Hey mate, nice videos. Thanks for posting. I just bought myself the mojo 5F1 kit. Did yours come with some kind of step-by-step instructions? Mine just has the wiring layout and the schematic. But its really light on any other instructions (i.e. where to mount the terminal strips, how to mount the eyelet board and what the other insulating board is actually for?)... Did you end up trying without the bypass cap and resistor only? What did you think? Cheers!
@@snarfusmaximus True but the position of the speaker output next to the preamp tube is a hum causing problem too, Fender later moved it away from V1 on later models. Cool sound with the p90's btw, usually these are played with sc tele's or strat's but the p90's give it a nice growl.
Nicely done!
That's it. Play Neil young riffs. No wonder your parts went to Canada, eh ? Thanks for this, BTW. Very entertaining.

Sounds killer! Closes sounding champ to 5e3 I’ve heard. Nice job!

That sounds really good!! I want to build one!

Can you tell me where you acquired the Fender name plate? I can't seem to find the vintage style with 2 nails
I found it on eBay.

What's the riff at 15:55 dude? Keep hearing that but can't place it.
Down By The River by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
thank you so much bro.
Nice Neil Young tone
i am trying to build this amp ,and the wire wound resistor i bought is 8 watt instead of 5 watt do you think i still can use it? thanks
Alvin s Yes, no problem what so ever.
so much hum.
mrozu1337 That hum is from the P90 pickups in my Les Paul. They are single coils and P90's in particular are notorious for their hum.
@ 4'30", pedantic? If you were pedantic you would use the eyelet board surely????? Strange is good though:)
Hey Kid ... Wake Up
Hum????
The guitar has P90 pickups which are single coils. Single coils hum.
