Navy veteran stunned, can't speak when surprised with vehicle from a Secret Santa

- The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local man gift $500,000 this holiday season! Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and wants to help as many people as he can.
We will be surprising deserving people and families every day from now until Christmas with gifts unique to their circumstances.
Darold Young is one of the humblest people that you will ever meet. He is a Navy veteran and has always been extremely giving. He never hesitates to give to those that need help, never asks for anything in return and he understands the true meaning of unconditional love.
For the past several years, Darold has been tending to his wife. She is unable to take care of herself due to medical conditions. He also takes care of his 91-year-old mother who resides alone in her own home in another town. Darold travels from Springfield into Blackfoot for a few hours several times a week leaving his wife with a caretaker so that he can also tend to the needs of his mother. He has been trying to take care of both properties and both women while rarely asking for assistance.
Several years ago Darold underwent extensive surgery and a month-long stay at the veteran's hospital in Salt Lake City. He is now facing another surgery in February due to embolisms that have been detected in his other leg. His best friend, who would assist with transportation to and from the VA, passed away unexpectedly in October and his death has left quite a hole in our father's heart.
Darold is having difficulty keeping a reliable vehicle that is easy for him, his wife and his mother. They depend on him to transport them to and from their doctors’ appointments. He also needs a working car to get to doctor appointments at the veteran's hospital.
Secret Santa was touched by Darold's story and asked the East Idaho News elves to deliver him a special Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see what happened!

@@PrincessJuliet101 I find the renos for people with disabilities particularly touching. Stories where parents and/or siblings are being caregivers just bothers me to no end, I live where the government gives money to people with significant disabilities just so they be an employer and hire their own caregivers. I'm glad that in the US there is at least a few people who try and smoothen the burden for families a bit.
When you give, give, give, and give all your life, it is difficult to handle when you finally receive. A very deserving gentleman.
What I love most about the recipients of Secret Santa gifts is that they are working hard on doing their best no matter what the circumstances. In every segment, the person is surprised that they would be recognized and dumbfounded that someone would notice their troubles. None of them have a Go Fund Me page to get support and they’re not asking for handouts no matter how desperate they are. Imagine his stress from driving a junker clunker taking his wife or mother to medical appointments. Probably in the rain and snow and freezing temps and just praying the entire time that they could get from point a to b and back home without breaking down. At a time when so many people feel entitled even though they aren’t doing anything themselves to improve their situation, seeing these ordinary, hard working individuals be helped is... life changing for them. God bless Secret Santa for making a difference to deserving folks!

This one reduced me to tears. He gave his all for this country, then his family... a Veteran Angel that walks among us. Yes Virgina, there is a Santa Claus. He lives in the hearts of those who unselfishly give to others.

@justagirlsd 007 Way back in 1897 a little girl named Virginia wrote to the editor of a newspaper, the Sun Times, asking if there was a Santa Claus. His reply became famous and it's also a children's book that I read to my kids when they were young back in the 1990's.

As a mechanic I am just amazed at the fact at how many young people wouldn’t even check their oil, never mind know how much it burns on a trip daily. He totally deserves this! What a hero
An old friend of mine used to check & top up his oil every single time he left his house in the morning. I’ve yet to start driving (33 & disabled.. that’s changing next year I hope), but it’s so embedded in my brain I’ll be sure to do the same every time I go out. Thanks for reminding others to check too :) x

My grandpa is like this, even looks very similar, hat and all, poor man should have been retired ten years ago, but him and my grandma are still feeding and housing their two grown sons, one is a painkiller addict, and the other is an alcoholic, none of the other siblings can convince them to kick those losers out, they are just too kind hearted.

This secret Santa guy is definitely a Hyundai dealer from what I'm guessing all the cars donated have been Hyundai cars I'm not from Idaho I'm from Vancouver canada and I love to see the love and support this small community has ben treated with from this secret santa really nice to see
I wish I could have done something like this for my grandparents but sadly it’s too late. As a kid I didn’t think of anything bad but now all I wish is to go back and treat them better. I love you grandparents ❤️

Wow beautiful story, God Bless the generous person that gives back to those in need. I give to the food bank in our community, salvation army, and sponsor a child all on a small pension, if we all gave a little what a huge difference we can make to so many people struggling. Great to see those capable to give more do, veterans deserve our support for all the sacrifice and service they dedicated.

I’ve watched a few of these videos and I can’t help but think how much the secret Santa person got for their $500k. That’s a lot of money no matter how much you have in the bank and aside from changing peoples lives, having the news coverage (which I had reservations about in the beginning) spreads the good will to everyone who cares to watch.
