A touching Secret Santa surprise for a mom and her little boy who loves John Deere tractors

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season.
Mel was born with many difficulties that continue to follow him to this day. He is faced with migraines that cripple him from attending school and he's had to take multiple trips to the hospital in Salt Lake for countless surgeries.
Not too long ago, he had to have facial surgery because a tumor grew back in his nasal cavity causing him to have severe nose bleeds that lasted for days at a time. He had another significant nasal surgery earlier this month.
Considering all of the challenges, you would never know what Mel is going through. He is the most positive little boy and he always has a smile on his face. He loves going to school and being with his friends even when his sickness holds him down. He is always there to tell you a joke and make you laugh. He may be smaller than other kids his age but he's got the biggest heart.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves if we would find Mel and give him an early Christmas. It took some time but we finally found him. Check out the video in the player above!

It also allows me, and I’m sure many others, to get our own problems into perspective. Ive had 17 surgeries by the time i was 13 i feel for this little guy and his mom because my mom was a single mother of 3 and having to deal with what i was going through so im just trying to say god bless her and her son

Every Secret Santa story makes me emotional, but the ones concerning children hit me the hardest. Nate, you do an amazing job every year. Stories like these is why I miss Idaho, eastern Washington and eastern Oregon. The smaller farming, ranching and logging communities that watch out for and help their neighbors.
If Idaho dropped its state income tax, would be back before year’s end.
There are not enough words to express what East Idaho News and the Secret Santa does for all the Families you help during their times of need. I wish Florida had some of the kind and generous individuals to help people here. I personally had a devastating tragic event happen in our Family in August 2023 and while I cannot seem to find my Christmas spirit this year it warms my heart to see these videos and know one day I may be able to put it all behind me. Every time I witness the pure, raw, uninhibited joy pouring out from these humble, unsuspecting people like her, I feel her joy and cry just a little along with her. This episode and the J.C. Penney hair cutter are my two favorite Secret Santa videos from East Idaho News. Whoever this Secret Santa is appreciates the novelty of giving anonymously, and experiencing the life changing impact these gifts have on the recipients as a result.

God Bless Secret Santa! You are helping so many people!! It breaks my heart every time I watch one of these and see how difficult so many peoples lives are. I have my struggles but nothing in comparison. NATE you are absolutely the best person to deliver these surprises. Your underlying compassion and empathy shines through each episode but somehow your inner strength to hold it together allows each family the gift to enjoy the moment. I would be crying with each delivery and that would displace the focus and take away from the moment. Secret Santa and Nate make a great team!!
