Don’t Apologize for being good your doing a good job and you are smart enough to use patience with cows your a cattle man accept it
Never apologize when you're a "one man" band Tyler
Excellent explanation of the weaning process, and even better execution of the plan! Went way better than I thought with a one person operation. Obviously, you’ve done this a time or two!😂😂
My grandfather, a dairy farmer always said, “ You have cultivate patience.” In your case, your patience and not pushing the cattle too much certainly paid off. Made it less stressful for everyone. Amazing to watch you work the cattle single-handed. Your running commentary, explaining the process is quite informative, and entertaining as well. A few LOL moments, “no sense of urgency here… the traffic has now come to a standstill…” I think you learned a thing or two working with your grandpa! The “through the fence” method of weaning is a brilliant idea. Still within sight and smell of each other, but no more nursing! A good day’s work! Enjoy time with your family. Stay well and safe. Greetings from Ontario Canada.🇨🇦
Good looking herd of cows and calves young man. Great video
I think of all of the ranch chores you like working the cows the most. You just seem so content while working them.
You did amazing well sorting by yourself...i need two people...one for gate control and one to move them towards gate.
Very good example of sorting cows from calves. You are a Great herdsman and really like how calm you are with the cattle.weaning calves from cows where they can see each other is less stressful and good way to do that. Thank you for sharing and continued success.
i love that you dont freak out and take your time so the cows wont panic great job hun
Thank you Tammy!
It just never gets old! I like the noses to noses weaning process! Thanks Tyler!
Good job separating the calves from the cows. Patience really does pay off. I've seen guys get in a hurry and it excites both cows and calves and makes for a real mess. Again, good job.
I love the overhead camera shot of the calves! Great vid Tyler!
That went well for you Tyler. I had 75 cow's to wean the calves off of. I did it pretty much like you did after I got them home from the pastures
Tis the season.
I'm always amazed at your solo herding abilities! It's more peaceful that the hurry & push method. You have done so much rebuilding of the farm in the years I have watched you. Also, a big thank you for introducing me to Redmond Agriculture! I have bought salt rocks and supplements for my granddaughter's High School Rodeo horses. Their products are wonderful. I can't wait to try the garlic salt next summer for flies👏
Thank you so much Kim!
Thank you for being good to your dog Kaley
Thanks for letting us hang out with you. Always good to see how you move your cattle around. You gotta be more clever than they are.
Calve Weaning! Busy Day! Calves are really big! Not Happy! All that Mooing! Those Calves are fast!! Beautiful Calves! Not Happy Mamas! Not Happy Calves! Thanks for the Explanation! Great Video! Thank-you!
That’s about the easiest job ever seen for sorting cows of cows usually it’s a really pain in the butt good job Tyler
Farmer Tyler....You have an excellent way with your cattle ! Patience goes a long way !!!! Thanks for taking me along. :)
Nicely done, Tyler. I admire your gentle but tiered use of voice and whip/persueder and like the "fence weaning" which must at least somewhat ease the bawling with both Mom and the calf. Great job explaining too.
You're a hard working man Farmer Tyler - I have learned so much from you and wish I was close enough to buy some of that hay you grow. Outstanding!
YOUNG MAN YOU ARE TRULY A COWMAN. HANDLED YOUR CATTLE IN A RELAXED MANNER, WITH NO STRESS ON ANYONE. EXCELLANT THAT YOU WEAN THEM BUT KEEP THE COWS CLOSE FOR REASSURANCE. WELL DONE Susan
It’s always interesting to watch you work the cattle. Good job Tyler.
Hard to have flow and deal with cow shenanigans in those necessary chores when your in the middle of construction but clearly you made it happen. It will be easier when the calf corral is completed. I think your setup really does make your "solo" operation work. Good job FTR!
Cow shenanigans when they just worry about their babies? I call it mother-behavior and easy going they were! They were sweet cows and not one stood her ground!
Standing ovation for a job well done!
Always a good day when FTR video comes out! 👍👍🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hi Tyler. That makes sense. It's like a human mother...prolonged nursing puts a lot of stress on her body. Not to mention, teeth. Lol. I've seen cats lose a lot of weight nursing their kittens too long. Wow, they're all protesting.
At seven months insert nose weaning rings on the calves. These are safe, easy to use, effective, inexpensive and reusable.
I hope you are feeling better
Awesome layout of your property. I really like the way you did that.
Lookin good my friend, greetings from Idaho!!
That was without a doubt one of the smoothest separations I have seen. Especially for a one man operation. That red and white …the trouble maker…she looks long in the tooth. Seemed feisty enough though eh?
I know it’s hard to tell on camera but she’s actually quite young, this spring will be her second calf
Love farming with you via UA-cam. So much easier than in real life. 😂
Haha!
Nice looking cows and calves Tyler
I like how you handle your cattle.
It is amazing how many of the calves can get around the Lakeland feeder!! Wonderful drone coverage Tyler and great cattle sorting. Yep, slow and steady won that race😁. In the breaks in in the bawling I could hear the geese calling. I for one sure do enjoy their song. When you fed the cows they suddenly forgot all about their calves🤓. Not much nutrition in the new green grass but it sure is looking beautiful. With the one man show you will get the feed bunk done when it gets done, just the way it goes. Thanks for the ride this week, see you next week.
Hello Farmer Tyler!! Can’t wait for new baby’s arrival
You make it look easy Tyler. Awesome job and thanks for bringing us along.
love the way you treat your calves n cows they seem to be happy altho they might be growing up and moving on with life's big adventure but your doing it right . love the farm life threw your work . love to be with you at your farm ....take care and keep up the great work you do ....love from seattle
Great video. Enjoy how you again show your patience. Have a great week.
I don't care what your weaning...its makes for a noisy few days! Well done.
👍💪🐮🐄Good job! Calves look really nice.
FTR, is that you playing the guitar? I like it. Thanks for another great video. You are a man with many talents!
Yes that’s him playing the guitar. He explained back in the beginning he couldn’t find any suitable music. I agree he has many talents
Thanks for the answer. In another UA-cam channel I follow-Tin Barn Farm-his music is his dad playing guitar and singing wonderful cowboy songs that he wrote.
Yes and thank you!
Great way to work cattle. Take your time and do your best to get gentle cows and bulls.
Great video and always fun to learn the tricks and tips that work and how to handle it all.
Good looking critters. You've got quite a few babies. I didn't think there were that many.
Your work is cut out for you. Love the channel!
Blessings
Good morning from Grand Forks
You make it look so easy. One man and his dog 🌿🌿👌👌🍃👌👌🌿🌿'
That went rather smooth this year. How many calves did you end up with this year.
I believe there are 34 out there plus Buddy
Will you be keeping Buddy forever?
Enjoyed your video nice to see u again.
Great job, I think it worked great.
Good Job. One man, dozens of cows. Hardcore. God Bless. :):):)
FTR: “had to put down the camera and get serious”
Me: “a magician never reveals his secrets, dang”
Just kidding, I love this channel! Keep up the good work
Haha!
That's the way to sort cows and calves, no whooping and hollering, you done good!
Whoever built those pens knew what they were doing. There are some good "anti-stress" feeds out for the calves, which seem to really help them transition. 🐂🐃👍🇺🇸
How many acres do you have, what State are you in and how many cattle do you usually have ?
Thing you do since I've been watching you God bless hope everything turns out well Sandra from Mississippi
Have you every tried weaning them during the sign of the almanac. My dad and husband would and it seems to make a big difference in them not standing around bawling. You did a great job separating them by yourself.👍
Nice work
Great video Tyler
Thanks Tyler 6-14-2022👍🏽👍🏽
yeahhhhh calves and animals great job Tyler hugssssss
Thanks for sharing 🙂
“How’s it going guys” !The original intro!!! 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
WOW YOU LOTS OF LIVESTOCK , GREAT VIDEO
YAY!!!! And what a Cool thumbnail
Thank you!
Nice herd of cows and calves.
Hi! I'm curious, how many calves did you wean that day? and how long did it take you to separate all the calves from their mother?
Btw thank you for explaining everything in such detail!
Some of those mamas looked happy to be getting away from the babies!
Suzanne...that's just what I thought too , I remember that feeling when my children went to play group for first time ..stay safe and well from the North Norfolk coast UK
@@caroledwards3465 Thank you! From Oregon, USA!
Great video! I can see some beautiful new fences in your corals, looks really good. Cows and calves look happy and healthy. Callie is sure getting big.
Near the tub there is a chunk of cinder block, looks like a tripping hazard. I would hate for you to get hurt on that. Just trying to help.
THANKS!!!... THAT WAS INTERESTING TO WATCH!!!🐄👍
Idea for baling twine reuse - sell it to use in local gardens as stake ties for tomatoes and such
Very light weanlings, maybe give working in Walmart another go
Do you worry about "Bloat" on the calves ?
You have sure worked cattle before good job
Great vid, sir
How many replacement heifers going to keep this year
Probably just 4 or 5 I think
Lekker man lekker
Lets. Go brandon
Those fat calves look really good. Im partial weaning mine, in batches. Giving the younger ones a chance to fatten a little bit more
Is that gradpa's tractor
Good lookin Calves!!! I weaned three weeks ago. I usually hold onto mine for 30-60 days until I sell cause that’s what the buyers want. Do you do the same? This rain we’re getting has been great!
Yes that’s about it. I’ll sell in January
I was wondering when you were going to wean. Your calves look good, what do you think they weigh?
I weaned my April calves on Nov 1, they were a little lighter than last year but not that surprised considering how hot and dry we were this summer.
Thank you Rob I’d expect they range from 350-550 lbs
Hope baby arrives soon!! Lmk please
I hear a lot of birds in the background. Is there a migration taking advantage of the rice fields?
Yes we get a ton of waterfowl this time of year. You were hearing all those geese!
Nice looking weaners
Let the bawling begin 😵💫
You got that right!
How long do you keep the mama cows separated from the babies?I have read alone from so many different people how many days it take to wean a calf.Wondering what time frame works best for you?
I keep them apart for about 5-6 months
Thank you so much!
I have a question. What are you feeding? It doesn't look like alfalfa.
It is forage mix hay
Im curious about what all them crows found. That was allot of ruckus out of them
Would you be willing to give me a tour of the place ? I visit some dairies in your area.
Thank you David but no tours at this time. Maybe in the future
@@farmertylerranch4399 ok thank you ! I enjoy watching your projects.
You should try to look into getting the breed beef Master
Will you be growing the calves out to increase your herd ?
Some will stay and come back into the herd as breeding females and some will be harvested for meat
Let’s go Brandon! 😂-3:50
Are those speckle bellies I hear?
Yes they are!
I sold all my calves I keep 300 heifers and 2 steers to Butcher
A quality stock dog or a good ranch hand or 2 would make it allot easier.
I watch the number of your videos of you working alone and I wondered if getting a herding dog would help would be a lot cheaper than another human
Get the bawl out, and hopefully avoid the wheezing and coughing, too.
Tyler: Who would buy the calves? Thank you.
I like your videos. There isn't many small farm/cattle operations left. I have been using Quiet Wean nose flaps the last couple of years with good success. I have a you tube video on the weaning process I use. I would like your support on my channel I just started it a few weeks ago. Good luck with the calves.
